A 2-year-old Joplin boy, who was flown to a Kansas City hospital on Sunday in critical condition with injuries police are investigating as possible child abuse, has died.

Jameson Long died at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, according to a statement released by Joplin police on Wednesday. The statement said an autopsy is being scheduled as part of an investigation into the child's death.

Brian M. O'Grodnick, the 22-year-old boyfriend of the child's mother, was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with four counts of felony child abuse after investigators purportedly discovered videos on his cellphone showing him physically and emotionally abusing the boy on four dates in April and May.

Somebody is going to get his skinny, little self in lockup and squeeze his mouth together and torture him as they ask 'Do you love me?"

Sadistic creep. What a gorgeous little boy. Makes your heart cry. Nobody noticed bruises on this baby's face? His picture he looks so sad the little doll.

MO has the death penalty and used it as recently as May 2020. I'm anti- but could pull the switch here and lose no sleep.

I was checking to see if MO still has the Death Penalty, and the State surely does. I saw this article which shows, in that particular case, the time between conviction and date set for execution. It looks like the State of Missouri doesn't mess around too long...
(hiding name since it's not germane to this particular horror).
-----------------------------------------------
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Supreme Court has set an execution date for ****** ******, who was found guilty of first degree murder in 2006, of May 19.

****** will be the 90th person to be put to death in Missouri since the U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed the use of capital punishment in 1976 — and the second under Gov. Mike Parson.

Much more info on MO DP in the article from which the above was found. Source:

Edited to add:
BONNE TERRE, Mo. — A Missouri man was put to death by lethal injection Tuesday for fatally stabbing an 81-year-old woman nearly three decades ago, the first U.S. execution since the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

****** ******, 64, had long maintained he was innocent of killing Gladys Kuehler, and his case was tied up for years due to appeals, mistrials and two overturned convictions. His fate was sealed when neither the courts nor Gov. Mike Parson intervened.

On another note -- we here at WS could fill a book with children abused and killed by boyfriends... Dammit.

At least little Jameson is far above and away from his sad days at the hands of IMO evil person(s).

We'll need to watch to see if anyone else is under LE's suspicion in this horror.

If betting parlors took this kind of action, on such cases odds that the husband/boyfriend/child's father/male acquaintence of the mom (if she herself were innocent) didn't do it would be 5000-1.
