This is not new, I believe it is a statement made at the beginning of the case....just out of context it looks new...

Lerette said that the parents had been exhausted from questioning at the police station. "I think it's just a lot of miscommunication, to be honest."

Lisa was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Monday, asleep in her crib, police said. Authorities were called to the home at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

"It appears the suspect entered/exited through a bedroom window," authorities said in a statement. "Evidence at the scene leads police to believe the child has been abducted."

Jeremy Irwin told reporters that he found Lisa missing when he got home from work. "The front door was unlocked," he said Thursday. "Most of the lights were on in the house, and the window in front was open -- all very unusual."

The couple also said three cell phones were missing at their home, according to Young.

Same here. We have one that is always on (dimmer switch in kitchen), another in living room that is on a timer, and upstairs front rooms likewise. Master bedroom is upstairs in the back of the house with TV sometimes still on after we're asleep.

Yeah but if there aren't outside lights on as well, it's perfectly easy to see inside, watch everyone go to bed, change into pj's, kiss goodnight, stop walking around, etc. While those inside cannot see the person outside. Much easier for surveillance by someone in the yard, for instance.

Great bar, with great pizza right there at Joe's. My husband used to be a manager at Joe's, and I lived in Westport for a few months, before I dragged him back to Ohio with me!

When I see our neighbors lights on late at night or early am... I always say to myself... "what in the heck are they doing up at his hour". Then I remember that most of them are doctors so I assume they are going to work... then I go back to bed... thankful that I am not a doctor.

He didn't say he went to use the phone....he said it was part of looking everywhere for her. I would love to hear the 911 call. I wonder if they said she was "missing" or "kidnapped".

So now they DO actually believe Baby Lisa was abducted. Wonder who these "authorities" are?

For what it's worth & to waste more space, I leave lights on when I go to bed . . . I live alone in the City of StL. I also have an alarm system on my doors & windows and motion sensor lights surrounding my house.

Since this was his first night working this shift, routines may have changed. The boys may have turned on lights . . . we just don't know.

The original statement by LE the "evidence at the scene leads police to believe the child has been abducted" goes back to October 4, five days ago.

True, but then LE wouldn't have said the parents' story doesn't have holes [or words to that effect], and also the parents themselves would realize that young kids wouldn't stand up to any questioning at all without spilling the truth... that they hadn't seen their baby sister for a couple of days [before the official disappearance], etc.

THAT and a whole bunch of other things just make me think that the home was staged and a "story" was rehearsed. An accident with that child sometime between the birthday party Sunday afternoon and sometime Tuesday morning is what keeps coming into my mind. I just think Mom knows more than she's saying....

..captain steve has said that detectives had spoken with the 2 boys ----surely they would know when they last saw the baby?

..it would be great to know if the neighbour who came over that evening with her 4 year old daughter--saw the baby..that night.

Yes, but she said she turned the lights off. By the way, for safety reasons and especially when your hubby is away you should always keep all the interior lights OFF. Keep yard / outside lights lit. The reason is that if an intruder sees a dark home he may not consider trying to go in when outside lights are lit because if someone did...they may stumble into furniture and things and wake you. If you keep your home lit up...you are giving them a pathway to what they want.

Okay, I just watched last nights interview for the 3rd time today....

So, if my husband came home at 4am and the lights were on, door unlocked... He would just assume I fell asleep exhausted without securing the house... He wouldn't wake me up to ask me why I didn't turn off the lights,etc... he would just do it and then go to bed. What kind of husband wakes up his sleeping wife to ridicule her for something she (in his mind, at the time) failed to do?

In the interview they clearly state that they didn't realize Lisa was missing until after he woke her up about the lights being on, door open, ect.

Where is the impression that he was ridiculing her come from? Maybe the situation was just unusual enough to illicit concern, she probably aroused slightly when he came in the room anyway, so he asked her. Does anyone have any idea where that diagram of their house plan is? I would like to look at it again. TIA

I would like a show of hands.... How many people have come home to lights on in there house while the family is sleeping.... and woke them up to ask them why?

Has never happened to me that I came home to a fully lit house. In fact, I'd be more likely to wake my spouse and ask why didn't he leave some lights on for me, so that I didn't fumble around.
