Man charged in Wisconsin brothers' deaths to be arraigned

Garland Joseph Nelson, of Braymer, waived his right last week to a preliminary hearing in which the judge could hear the prosecutor's evidence against him and decide whether it was sufficient for him to stand trial.

Instead, the 10 felony charges against Nelson will be formally read at his May 4 arraignment. Among the charges are two counts each of first-degree murder in the deaths of 35-year-old Nick Diemel and 34-year-old Justin Diemel, of Shawano County, Wisconsin.

Nelson files for change of venue and change of judge in Diemel brothers case

An attorney representing a Braymer farmer has filed requests in his Caldwell County cases for a change of venue and judge.

Garland Joseph Nelson faces ten felony counts stemming from July 21, 2019, that ultimately resulted in the discovery of the bodies of two missing brothers from Wisconsin.

It will be up to 43rd Judicial Circuit Court Judge Brent Elliott as to whether he disqualifies himself from hearing the cases.

This tragedy really got me. I even bought the shirt to help support the family and honor Nick and Justin. One of my favorite shirts. I’m glad the case is finally getting somewhere.

I am from WI and I can tell you all with certainty, this case shook our entire state up. We are a state filled with farmers and this struck fear into many. I can't believe Nelson plead not guilty.

Remains of Diemel brothers return home, memorial planned

A visitation will be held for the Diemel brothers Sunday, September 27 at 12 p.m., and will take place at Navarino Ball Diamond in Bonduel.

The public is welcome to attend.

Garland Nelson, of Braymer, Missouri, is accused of killing Nick and Justin, and currently faces the death penalty.

He has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.

Such a tragic, terrible story. Just awful, pure evil. At least the remains of these brothers were found and are now returned to their family.

I’m glad the family finally have what is left of their loved ones. I think more than this evil should be held accountable. He never ever should have been anywhere near cattle again...but he was...and here we are. This case is one of the most heart wrenching that I have ever followed.

Nelson charged with stealing while jailed

"Garland Nelson, a man accused of killing two Wisconsin brothers, is facing a stealing charge that was filed against him as he sits in jail."
Online court records indicate Nelson was charged with stealing a motorcraft, watercraft or aircraft on Friday. He has been jailed in Caldwell County since July of 2019.

No other information was immediately available Saturday, though the online records show the criminal complaint was submitted by Brady Kopek, the Caldwell County prosecuting attorney.

Side note: I hate his stupid patch beard

Me, too. Makes him look even creepier (as if that was possible). Ready for a new mugshot.

Garland Nelson appeared in Johnson County Court. The court scheduled a three-week jury trial to begin Feb. 7, 2022.

If convicted of Murder in the 1st Degree, Nelson would face the death penalty under Missouri statute.

Nelson is charged with two counts of Murder in the 1st Degree for the deaths of Nick Diemel and Justin Diemel, owners of a livestock business in the Bonduel area.
