Only ONE of seventeen scandals had anything to do with the police department. Why do you lead off with “Let us recall how fine the St Louis Police Department has conducted its self” and then list sixtenn crimes committed by parking meter attendants and crooked judges?

Falcon, valid point.

Focusing specifically on this case, would you be willing to share your thoughts as a detective re: your observations and/or what specific actions you would take if you were assigned to work it?

As we know, City Prosecutors, Judges and City Councils are [READ: can be] complicit in official cover-ups and investigations. Generally persons involved in these types of operations understand this goes beyond the scope of the Police Department. These examples are used to illustrate the capacity, encouragement even, of the local government's blatant disregard for accountability. A culture of dishonesty and misconduct appears to be alive and well within the immediate municipality. Police Chief has stressed transparency even though the official narrative continues to evolve.

St. Louis has had a particularly dismal record within the last decade.

If you'd like me to get more specific about the SLPD I'd be happy to start citing ACLU violations related to Ferguson.

You have the St Louis Pd confused with the St Louis County Pd which was the department involved in the Ferguson case. In your zeal to condemn the STLPD you seem to be getting a lot confused.

Statements from the two surviving participants. The one that left the house will be the weak link. Interviews with shift members including her shift. Interview with her husband. Ballistic and forensic work done the experts. Conclusion, meet with DA, and present the case to the grand jury.

It does not seem to be a difficult case.

Thank you, Falcon! Follow-up to area BBM above: what specific questions would you pose to shift members (hers and theirs) and what questions would you want to ask her husband?

lt, I'm anticipating that we'll learn there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this.

IMO, what MSM has labelled as a game of "Reverse Russian Roulette" was in fact, actually a game of "Reverse Strip Russian Roulette."

The rules in this version of the game vary slightly. In "RSRR," every time you fire off the gun (at the other person, of course) and it does not discharge a bullet into their chest, you have to remove an article of clothing.

MSM will likely need to go back and issue an "update" to their original articles to correct this error.

JMO.
LOL, I was being facetious and totally agree that they were playing the "strip" version of Russian Roulette.

lt, lol, and I was being facetious when I postulated that they were playing the "Strip" version of Reverse Russian Roulette.

Which is only fitting, considering the whole story these 2 keystone cops thunk up is so ridiculous it doesn't even merit serious discussion.

It is infuriating that they seem to think the public is going to buy it and let them bury it, along with Office Alix, in yesterday's trash. Infuriating.

JMO.

Specifically what the relationship was between the deceased and the two officers. Of course the ebb and flow would dictate what direction the interview would go.

Thanks, Falcon.

I have my suspicions that there may have been a romantic relationship (or at least an interest in one) at some point, between the shooter and Officer A.

That Reverse Russian Roulette game is a total invention. JMO.

It would be callous to condemn the entire department as an organization. Same as crucifying the City of St Louis for similar reasons. Forgive me if I am suspicious of the LE approach in the area of St Louis but the fact remains I AM CONFUSED. Mostly because the City or the Police (or both) appear to be omitting details or flat out denying other critical pieces of information.

So was the weapon 'mishandled' or were they playing some awful game of RR? Or is there something more sinister at play here?

Was Sgt. Hellmeier present? Should we assume Hellmeier was Hendren's direct sup? Previously he had a written statement. Now apparently he just wrote the report and was not at the scene.

I would like to think that alcohol, cocaine, and "pants not properly pulled up" is all hearsay but none of these items have been directly address by any of the statements. Maybe it was just some idiot posting for likes, I hope so. It might, however explain why two on-duty officers were outside their defined district. Might also explain why two military veterans thought playing RR outside of their district while on duty was a good idea.

If the City / Department were more transparent in their statements the public would be a lot less confused.

Instead, what we have is "a letter to the St. Louis police chief and the city's public safety director, [in which] St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner called the police department “obstructionist” and claimed investigators had a “pre-disposed conclusion” regarding the fatal shooting of an officer by a colleague."

Furthermore, I haven't smashed too many windshields with my head but I know the resulting injuries are not black eyes.

Please forgive my confusion. I hope the City and the PD get to the bottom of this and will provide the public with full disclosure within a reasonable period of time for the sake of the family. Hopefully you understand the public's skepticism and reluctance to accept the official narrative as it is now.

I don't see the partner who left the room as wanting to say much at all. He will want to try to keep his job, while not throwing his partner under the bus. Good luck with that story.

I don't know about anybody else, but I sure wish @Falcon500 was the one investigating this case!

I have a feeling he would get to the truth of the matter, one way or another. JMO.

Two questions: Why were Hendren and Hellmeier out of the patrol area and in Hendren's apartment? And why was Alix there? Answer those questions and I think we can fill in the rest. Were Hellmeier and Hendren in the same police vehicle or did they have separate vehicles?

I believe Hellmeier was the Sgt. who took the statement from the unnamed second police officer. Hellmeier was not present at Hendren’s house that night.

The plot thickens. Looks like IA bothced the toxicology draws under Garrity doctrine (intentional?).

In the letter, released Tuesday, Gardner says a police lieutenant erroneously told her office that a hospital would not honor a search warrant for the officers' blood. Gardner wrote that hospitals commonly accept search warrants in criminal cases.

The letter says urine and breath tests were later performed, but not a blood test, which can be more exact. They later learned that the samples had been obtained by internal affairs in a way that may block their use in a criminal prosecution. Officers generally must comply with internal affairs investigations, but that compelled testimony or evidence can't be used against them in court.

Gardner said the testing "appears as an obstructionist tactic to prevent us from understanding the state of the officers during the commission of this alleged crime."

Additionally, I learned today that her husband is assigned to District 4 via SLPD and he was on-duty at the time of the incident. He is not listed on their wedding registry.

Man. Can you imagine being on duty and hearing that all go down via radio traffic, then learning it was your wife?? How awful!!

flute, I hadn't thought of that...I mean, that since he was on duty he would find out via radio dispatch. Horrible.

It makes me feel sick to think that is how her husband learned of her death...this whole sordid event makes me sad and sick for him.

Put me on that list!!

I do have a question. Has Russian Roulette (regular,in reverse, strip, etc) ever actually been played? I just really can’t wrap my brain around that.

I’m not sure what’s harder to believe - that someone would actually play RR, or that someone would think it was a good excuse to use to cover up something else.

I believe that it is a very inventive story to create some sort of reasonable doubt. Because otherwise, how could there be any possible reason to shoot someone point blank in the chest?

I have my own opinion here, that is not supported by any data.

BBM: flute, IMO, the Reverse Russian is something the shooter and his partner made up. I've never heard of RRR. The Reverse Strip Russian is something I said sarcastically, but who knows in this crazy world? Maybe there really is such a thing.

I have heard of Russian Roulette. Whether it's actually a thing people play, I don't know, but I know someone who might....tagging @MassGuy to see if he can speak to your question.

I definitely think that Reverse Russian gar-bajhhh is a cover story, even if some people really do play Russian Roulette. JMO.

This is literally the most nonsensical cover story that I’ve ever heard.

Two police officers, one on duty, playing “Reverse Russian Roulette.?!”

I don’t think so.

I want to see toxicology results on all of them. Maybe then I’ll be more open minded.
