I can understand that and I apologize if this has all bothered you, but I do think this is a very important discussion, I think it is crucial that we try and understand these people so that we can prevent it from continuing to happen, simply locking them up and turning a blind eye to it really doesnt do anyone any good.

Also I dont think we as a society have a right to simply "put people away for good" IF there is a possibility that they can be helped and rehabilitated. Such an attitude may have worked in Nazi Germany but I would hate to see Americans adopt such a way of dealing with those who make mistakes, locking people up is a very serious thing and all consideration needs to be given before that action is taken.

Point taken. This particular case is - to us anyway - in the early stages of investigation. Clearly, LE has reason to believe it goes much deeper than what we've learned so far. This is not a simple case of one accuser making claims against one abuser. Even with what little we know, it's much more complicated.

We've seen comments from locals (here and elsewhere) who are shocked and in total disbelief. We've also seen comments from locals who said these accusations were leveled long ago and fell on deaf ears. Some have said these people kept to themselves and they really didn't know them well. IMO, that's unusual in small, rural communities.

People who commit crimes like this don't go around with signs on their foreheads claiming to be SO's. They don't want people to know what they're doing! Of course, that's because they know it's wrong.

Sorry, I do not call rape a mistake.

The big question is did LE find anything in the searches today? Do we have any updates?

Salem

I sure would like to know but it appears nothing new.

My question would be when and where have we actually to rehabilitate them, because I know for a fact it isnt happening in our prisons, I spend a lot of time in the prisons and I know what goes on there, its worse than the streets by far.

This case is starting to remind me of the Eddie Lee Sexton (who is on death row for his crimes) case.

I agree its going to be interesting to see how this unfolds and I look forward to being here when it does.

Well, when you or one of your loved ones are a victim, it's pretty DAMN hard not to feel hate and anger towards a perp. One cannot deny these feelings.....they well up, smack you in the face and you have to recognize them. It is NOT easy to take the passive route and, just move on. One cannot deny their feelings of hatred and the bile that rises to your throat with these subhumans.

Well, that's just my opinion.

Okay I just thought of another possible connection to Star/shon.In Renee Pernices case Renee's phone was found close to a church. Small connection but It was stated that somebody would have had to have good dirt for someone to keep quite in Star Boomers case as no witnesses would help the police. This case seems to have that element. I am going to re read Renee's thread and Stars thread.

6th person arrested - no name! WTH is that? http://www.newser.com/article/d9bud...suspect-described-as-associate-of-family.html

another article: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/551/story/1051823.html

got a name in this article: http://www.fox4kc.com/wdaf-story-mohler-sixth-arrest-111209,0,7524041.story Larry Kidd

Also saying "at least 2 children" which makes me think we will see charges on behalf of another child soon.

Salem

OMG. I do believe this will get so much worse!

It will be very interesting to see the results of the search for child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the computers. It's been heavily reported in the press this week that hackers can put 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on our computers. That being said, what are the odds that the randomly hacked 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the computers of these guys would be of their OWN CHILDREN? We shall see....

Yes, I understand. My sister, my husband, my best friend and a number of other women and men with whom I share love and life - are survivors of child sexual abuse. I walk and have walked through this with them. I would never suggest that they should hide or deny their feelings or intimate that healing is easy or passive.

My experience has been that healing is hastened (for anyone for any reason) when we are able to let go of anger, resentment and fear. But that's a process for all of us. Certainly I don't know a single person who has let go of all anger, resentment and fear.

The church takes seriously the allegations that have been made and has suspended the priesthood licenses of three lay ministers: Burrell Mohler Sr., David Mohler, and Jared Mohler. Lay ministers are volunteers who do not receive compensation for their service or ministry from the Community of Christ.

This article to me seems all about backpedaling.........and they are trying to distance themselves from the Mohler's.

"Highway patrol said Thursday night it had identified "additional victims in the case."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091113...uX2hlYWRsaW5lX2xpc3QEc2xrA2ZhbWlseW1vY2hpbA--

So todays developments:

Another PERP arrested making it six total, I am guessing this may be a friend of the family one of the son's friends who maybe took part in these crimes.

More victims have come forward.

It is not looking good for the Mohlers.

BTW where is SILVERFLOWER when we need her?!

Yes, I believe I would.

My younger sister, who is my heartbeat, was abused by a pedophile. I empathize with her abuser. I am not someone who finds it difficult to disapprove of and feel pain about the terrible things humans do and still love them because they are human and, therefore, my brothers/sisters.

(bbm) Me either. Sympathies are so often misplaced. There are, afterall, consequences to victimizing.

I think it is also worth considering the fact that RAPISTS who rape females are NOT raping them because they simply desire to have sex with a female, it is normally about power and domination, it is the power and domination that arouses them not the female per se. I am wondering if the same could be said about paedophiles, are they really aroused by children or is it the act of dominating an otherwise helpless being that arouses them. The distinction is an important one.

(bbm) Tell that to the child, in this or any other case, who has been molested.

This is healthy, being filled with hate and anger towards others even if they are monsters and committ dispicable acts, is not mentally or physically healthy at all.

I can understand that and I apologize if this has all bothered you, but I do think this is a very important discussion, I think it is crucial that we try and understand these people so that we can prevent it from continuing to happen, simply locking them up and turning a blind eye to it really doesnt do anyone any good.

(bbm) Not "filled w hate" just not confused lol re the dangers of all grace and no consequences. Just a righteous anger at these despicable behaviors w enough wisdom to understand you have to recognize what state someone is in or risk misplacing empathy. W/out a doubt most of these offenders have repeatedly been given too much of just this sort of leniency and it has only served to increase license that's the whole problem. (AND been a poor deterrent to others.) I just take a stand against injustice and evil.

I understand my friend and I do not wish to deny you or any other victim on here the feelings that you feel, everyone must deal with their problems the best way that works for them.

My ex-companion is a victim of satanic ritual abuse and was since she was a child so I know how this works and I have lived it also and I understand the heartache and pain and suffering that is involved when one is voilated in this manner. Please do not mistake my willingness to debate and discuss with indifference to your pain.

Lets sleuth Kidd and see what he has been up to all these years. I am now more willing to consider this is MORE than a family fued as it seems very unlikely that the ex wife would drag family friends in to this if the accusations were not true as she would really be setting herself up for some serious civil action suits.

So at this point I am starting to come off the fence a little more but we will see what happens.

Does our man Kidd have a family, wife, kids?

Whats he do for a living?
