the Colonial Parkway killer strangled to victims with a nylon rope so severely there when you can read decapitated I found this on a investigate Discovery post about said victims
autopsy found that the two women had been strangled with nylon rope. Their throats had been cut — so viciously that Thomas was almost decapitated — and diesel fuel was poured over the bodies and the car, which apparently failed to ignite.

Is this because a change of law? I'm against the death penalty....(although looking at pictures of victims and reading about Kraft.....eye for an eye...I got sooooo very angry, as an example, but no....in the end I never could to that, and I really don't want to) so I wonder what happened in this case.
What happened? Well:
1) If you're a woman being sentenced to death or executed in this country is almost impossible
2) The death penalty is becoming extinct in the States...politicians are slowly repealing this punishment all over the country

I still can't get over how brutal her murder is. I hope whoever killed her lives a terrible life.

We know Little Jane Doe was raped, but do we know if it was a perimortem rape?

I think that if she had been raped or sexually abused in the past, that could be a very strong motive for wanting to kill her. Even if it was shown that she had been a victim of a fairly recent rape, that isn't to say that she hadn't been raped other times in the past (perhaps by the same person).

I think it's extremely odd that a very young girl would be kidnapped, raped, murdered, and decapitated by a complete stranger and go nameless for three and a half decades. I don't think I've ever heard of another case like that. The idea that she was killed by someone with a very close personal connection to her and that nobody reported her missing for that reason makes much more sense to me. Just my opinion.

They say she was decapitated at the shoulders (I have not seen pictures so I am going off what others have mentioned) and they list COD as strangulation...so was there enough neck left to notate that or was it speculation from other injuries?

Good question !!! I thought in the past it was said they ruled it strangulation because the rope which strangled her is what took her head off which was boat rope you know that sharpish plastic rope. I think if I recall correctly , anyone know or recall where we might find that?

What makes me question it is looking at the stains on the shirt....now going off meat animal slaughter here, once the heart stops pumping the blood quits flowing, so with an injury post mortem you won't get as much blood coming out per say. (Why in the meat industry animals have to hang to drain all the blood out because it takes a lot of time) The amount of blood that is down her shirt and looks like it flowed in a downward angle...makes me wonder if maybe she had a head injury and was upright? Unless she was alive and more upright when she was decapitated.. I just don't see that much blood getting on the sweater if she was laying down and decapitated...JMOO.

Rather randomly came across this thread and saw Precious Doe being mentioned in the later posts. I guess a bump for both Does wouldn't hurt:

TX - TX - San Antonio, BlkFem Skull UP11726, 9-15, in backpack on vacant lot, Jun'11

A backpack containing a human skull of an adolescent/teenage Afro-American girl was found on a lot of land that was being cleared of trees and brush. Estimated PMI is estimated at "years".

Her NamUs page:
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

I do not know if they have been ruled out from being each other.

Wow!! If that has not been submitted it definitely should be!

Some thoughts, I will post a picture of the now demolished building she was found at + map showing the location in ST Louis the house was located.

The location of the buidling is quite secluded. I believe there were plenty of abandoned buildings on the city at that time but my guess is that whoever entered it had some knowledge about it or knowledge about the city in general. Therefore I think the killer was a local. It's possible he lived in the neighbourhood or close to it or worked close to the neigbourhood she was found.

JD was from the south or midwest. It was concluded after isotype testing. She recently came to St Louis. This explains why she wasn't resported missing by anoyone in the city. I believe her mother either recently died or she moved to the city to relatives or legal guardians or that she came with her mother to live with her boyfriend who was from the city anf that her mother died shortly before she was killed herself.

It's worth to check for African-American women that died in St Louis in early 1983 and see if there is a connection toa child.

If her mother had died before and she was sent to relatives or legal guardians just prior to her death it would be worthwhile to see if any schoolmate recalls a tall black girl that moved in the winter 82/83. Perhaps someone somewhere remember their schoolmate moving to St Louis but never made the connection of JD because they aren't aware of this case in the first place.

I think her killer was either a boyfriend of her mother or a relative. That's why she was decapitated PM. We have DNA from her, not sure if DNA was even collected from the rape but it has never been mentioned eventhough it's been concluded this was a sexual crime. I hope Parabon will take on this case. It's the one case I hope to be solved soon.

Have just listened to the podcast Break in the Case made by the NYPD covering the Baby Hope case. While the physical facts are a lot different, I have a suspicion a lot of the same human factors will be at play here - disrupted families, disputed relationships, lack of money and education and little knowledge or, or trust of, the authorities who could help when things go wrong, therefore no report made on this child.

Not sure if this has been talked about before, but were the gentlemen who found the body every considered suspects in the case? If I remember correctly, they went into the abandoned apartment complex in the first place is because their car had broken down and they were looking for a pipe to fix their car. That always seemed suspicious to me. Why would some random pipe be able to fix their car?

  • #737
I have been following the thread but haven't actually posted anything yet, but from what I can gather I do not believe the 2 men were considered as suspects? please double check though I am new to this case
I was looking around on nameus and there were skull fragments found in different locations. Maybe its giving the murderer too much credit but if the skull was destroyed, it could explain why it has never been found... as sad as that is to consider

I don't believe her killer destroyed her skull. He most likely took it with him and kept it as a trophy. Plus he wanted to prevent investigators from identifying her through dentals and facial reconstruction. Admittedly I do wonder sometimes if her skull is located in the St Louis area and just hasn't been found yet.

  • #739
IMO I think the skull was probably tossed into a dumpster and is in the landfill somewhere. A skull is a lot easier to dispose of then an entire body.

How do we know a male even committed the crime?...
