Marking my spot.
Have a depressing feeling about this case, though. :(

I just started following this case and finished reading everything...here's my theory/thoughts...

I believe she probably did stop at the Shady Lady after she left work. I think she and some friends, probably the ones she was going to meet up with, were into drugs (using or selling). She gets their money and leaves to buy the drugs so they can party (or picks up from them to sell elsewhere, like the QT, for extra cash). They make plans to meet up after, and then she doesn't show--perhaps there weren't a ton of phone calls and texts even when she doesn't show because she does this often--it's hard to know without knowing her habits. I don't think the wikihow article on how to disappear is relevant--I look up random things like that all the time and fall into a dark rabbit hole of weirdness online when I can't sleep or am feeling down. I think she got pulled over, and was possibly nervous about the stop (especially if she had drugs on her that she was in process of delivering) and made up an excuse about getting gas, so the cop followed her to make sure she made it safely (cops do that sort of thing where I'm from). Worried the cops were on to her, or possibly just paranoid because she'd been busted before, she unplugged the GPS--possibly not realizing how it worked and what it tracked. She gets gas, or pretends to, and one of two things happened afterwards. One--the cop was not the good guy and he pulled her over again once away from the gas station (re: the 'OMG I got pulled over again' text) and was met with foul play then. Two--She proceeded to her drug deal and was met with foul play then. This would explain why she was going north when she was supposed to be staying further south--she had plans with drugs that no one wants to talk about. This would also explain why the insurance gadget was disabled. I'd be interested to see where her phone pinged later and the dashboard cam footage from the stop and afterwards.

I don't think the news would still be running stories and the family would be trying to organize searches and raise money if the police knew she was safe somewhere or gone on her own accord (I think there would have been a press release, or even them talking to her family and telling them what they think happened and why). I think they aren't searching because they know what happened to her and are trying to prove it. I can see them being really tight-lipped if they're investigating a fellow officer or, if like some said, she was a CI who they realize met with a terrible fate.

Depending on her call records, she could have been planning to do a drug deal at the first QT, but because of some reason (cops near there?) she couldn't, so they were going to meet at a different one. When she was pulled over, she had to make an excuse and used the 'low gas' excuse. Then she left and circled back around after the coast was clear to meet whoever she was meeting and they disabled the gps--not a stretch to think someone involved in illegal activities would know to check for devices.

Agreed.

Toni's parents appeared on HLN today.

A search is underway for missing 20-year-old Kansas City woman Toni Anderson, who was last seen on January 15. Her parents, Brian & Liz Anderson, speak to HLN about the search efforts: "She would never disappear."

Just listened to her parents on HLN.
Sadly, I don't see this ending well. For their sake, I hope the waiting ends soon.

I agree with you and have stated the same thing. One thing that is itching my britches is... something is off with the LE. Things do not add up and contradicting reporting. This coming from a family of LEO. Something is off. This is not some itty bitty town where LE department are two guys and a walkie talkie ( yes I have lived in those types of towns) first they didn't even know they had pulled her over on record, they said they did not then found another force did , then the time of the actual stop has been changed is it 4:20 or 4:40... should be an easy fact as LE log into dispatcher is recorded , oh but try to pull up scanner during that time... you can't it's been deleted or scrubbed, she says omg getting pulled over again yet records show she has one maybe two tickets in 18 months. Why was she being stopped so often? Officers smell out bull***** quickly . If she said I am running out of gas and I am going to point B after most LE I know would see her story did not add up when she turned in an opposite way and would follow. Something is off and not being stated. I do not believe the LE abducted her. I want to state that.

I agree that it's not adding up. I have a LE background and there's something wrong about this whole thing from everything I know and have experienced with LE. I can't really put my finger on what it adds up to, but I don't think it is anything good, kwim? I do hope answers come out soon, or even at all. I didn't know about the scanner, but that is like ten kinds of red flags waving that this isn't a cut and dry case.

LE did have some reasonable explanation about not finding the record of her being pulled over, it was a different police department, and the location she was pulled over was far away from the route she supposed to take to the Shady Lady. About the timestamp changes, it could be a simple clerk mistake or more probably, LE deliberately put some misleading information out, a very common practice when LE is desalting an open case, so that they would know something is wrong if someone knows something he/she is not supposed to know. About her "being pulled over a lot", that was a comment from her friend, not from LE, I do not see why her friend would lie about this if she did not tell her about this herself, besides, we all know she had some big trouble back in Wichita when she was pulled over by LE there

To me there is a big difference between "OMG getting pulled over again" and " OMG pulled over again". I have seen it reported both ways. But it's important as to EXACTLY which it is. Driving in the icy weather that night and going over frozen overpasses would cause anyone to pull over in several spots and go "OMG". But NKC Police say they pulled her over once, and I believe that. Convincing a Judge that releasing dash or bodycam images that could violate both Toni's and the Officers rights is I believe going to be difficult at this time. After all no crime has been committed that we know of at this time. Certainly nothing having to do with the traffic stop.

"Omg just just pulled over again"

IMO she meant "just got pulled over again" in past tense...but because of the typo we can't know for sure.

Her friend commented that she got pulled over a lot, as you said. Her mom also said on the most recent interview that Toni had a lead foot.

Not sure what to think about the scanner audio being pulled from 4:30-10:30 am. :/

They wouldn't have even known that she was missing until afternoon of 1/15. So why take all the way till 10:30am out?

hmmm. Sorry, i'm even more skeptical about what happened in that time period now.

Right after she makes the text at 4:42 "OMG, just pulled over again" , her friend asks "why"? ..........No answer.

Whatever happened, happened right then.

The time stamp for the friend's answer is many hours later.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the police car icon?

On the left side of the map, under "Untitled layer" click on "Pulled over by police", then the icon on the map will highlight.

She was pulled over before she got to the QT.

I agree, though, it does seem as if she was headed north. However, there are two freeways nearby that would be far better suited if you were heading north. The question then becomes: was there nowhere on her route that would have been a more convenient place to get gas? Either she ended up in this area (near the QT) because she really did need gas, or she was near her destination.

i'm glad you brought that up. i had'nt noticed until just now, that the police are stating the pullover was near 20thave and hw-9. but i remember when watching the cctv from i believe quiktrip, you can see the pullover finishing, officer turns off lights, and she pulls in.this is near 26thave and hw-9. (6 blocks farther north then whats stated)

i dont know, but maybe skibs could add any 24 hour gas stations that are along that route to the case map
