The article also confirmed that Toni's parents have split up and sold the family home, which was revealed by Pete a while ago. What is new information is that the sale was recent. "...the Andersons sold their home here in January, though she has no immediate plans to leave Wichita." I looked it up, and their house sold on January 4, 2017. So here we have yet another coincidence: just 11 days before Toni went missing, her parents sold the family home. The home was for sale for a long time, though, it was listed for sale on Feb 21, 2016.
According to zillow.com, the previous sale of the home was in 2001, so this was apparently Toni's childhood home.
It leads me back to considering the possibility that Toni might have run away voluntarily. Her parents, as a unit, were gone. Her childhood home, gone.
I agree with her Mom that it seems unthinkable, because Toni seemed to have exactly the life she wanted.
Toni had wanted to move to an apartment in Kansas City for a long time. She finally got there, and had been living in Kansas City for over a year already. But what if it wasn't as great as she thought it would be?
She was starting school in a few days, which was a stated goal of hers, but she also expressed serious misgivings.
The thing is, though, would she really just let everybody look for her for 38 days? Her BFFs and her parents? That seems even more unthinkable. Which, of course, points to the other kind of running away, the kind that nobody likes to mention. But then where is her car?
There are a lot of red flags, or 'coincidences' here:
- Parents just split.
- Probably had not so great of a Christmas 3 weeks ago because of parents splitting.
- Childhood home just sold.
- Possibly bad night at Chrome due to projected ice storm.
- Might have been unhappy to learn management was bringing in 5 new dancers for next night.
- Starting school in just 2 days.
- Contact with police.
- Disabled tracking device.
- Possible phone last ping near boat ramps.
Here's a somewhat pertinent story from just a few days ago. This woman drove into the river and hasn't been seen since.
Family says woman drove into Mississippi River to attempt suicide
It should be noted, however, that the Mississippi River is far larger than the Missouri River.
I don't know. I still think foul play is more likely. But you just never know.
