The good news is that Spring is coming, which means farmers are going to be out and about on their land. If she did drive into the country and ended up in a pond in the middle of a field like what happens so often around here, she will be found soon.

You've definitely made a great point here. In so many disappearance cases it so often turns out that evidence or even a body are discovered once warmer weather arrives. People are outdoors more hiking, camping, etc.

For example, there was a case in Little Rock in 2008 where the CFO of a large construction company disappeared. His disappearance baffled everyone. He had no prior history of disappearing, no history of drug abuse, no history of alcohol abuse . . . nothing. He just got in his car on a Monday morning to go to work and was never seen alive again. There was a LOT of talk that he (like Toni) wanted to escape his life and start all over so his disappearance was a choice, not an indication of any harm coming to him.
There was even a segment on an episode of The Missing about his disappearance.

Search teams looked for him near his home, near his work, and every place in between. They even searched for him in Lonoke county because of a tip (from a jailhouse snitch). This was near my family's farm and was a very extensive search through flooded rice crops - not the greatest terrain to have to walk around on. They also searched for him at Petit Jean Mountain State Park because that's where his cell phone signal died - his car was found at the park. The distance between Lonoke and Petit Jean is about 100 miles, with Little Rock in between.

John disappeared January 28, 2008. On March 12, 2015 two college students cut class to go to Petit Jean to hike one of the trails. Because they were looking for an adventure they decided to hike a trail that is very dangerous and difficult to hike, therefore people rarely hike the trail. (If I remember correctly there was a report at the time that the trail had not been open to hike for some time because of how dangerous it is.) While hiking the trail they discovered the remains of John Glasgow. His body was less than ONE mile (as the crow flies) from where his car had been found seven years earlier.

I know this might be a rather dramatic account of how the time of year can make all the difference in a case, but the main point of this case is true of so many cases like this - seasons do make a big difference in solving cases. Warmer weather may be the key to solving Toni's case.

I don't understand how anyone can question the tracking device story. That came from the police. And there's no way it just happened to stop working at that QuikTrip.

I have to say, I'm just stunned. I can barely believe I'm reading this:

"While not ruling out foul play, Kansas City police think that around 6 a.m. Jan. 15, Toni Anderson likely wrecked her black 2014 Ford Focus on some rural, desolate roadway."

It's just unbelievable that they waited 47 days to tell us this. AND WHAT ABOUT THE LAST PING LOCATION!!!!!!?

smh

The dirty cop theory is off the table, by the way, because she was at the QuikTrip for 7 minutes after she sent the text. Just forget the whole bad cop thing. Let it go. It never happened.

"For some reason, Anderson remained at QuikTrip until 4:49 a.m. and then drove north to parts unknown, Caldwell said."

Can you link what info came from police regarding the GPS tracker? Here's what I've seen:

Now, police have just uncovered an eerie GPS detail that may give them some insight into what happened to Anderson. Apparently, Anderson’s ATM card was used at QuikTrip and then her GPS stopped working shortly after. Authorities are still trying to determine whether someone tampered with the device.
http://elitedaily.com/news/eerie-gp...appened-girl-vanished-after-cop-stop/1759230/

Kansas City police say the GPS tracking device installed in Toni's car has not helped in the search. Officers say the device tracks the car's speed, not its location.
http://www.kwch.com/content/news/KC-police-search-for-missing-Wichita-woman-411018955.html

Her parents also say for insurance purposes they had a GPS tracker on her car, but her father told FOX 4 on Wednesday that the device is no longer working. Police aren't sure if it malfunctioned or was removed from her vehicle.
http://fox4kc.com/2017/01/18/police...ans-steps-after-traffic-stop-with-nkc-police/

Police still haven’t located Toni Anderson’s 2014 black Ford Focus. However, the family told 41 Action News Thursday that detectives were able to retrieve GPS information from their insurance company, which they hope will be a clue to help locate their daughter.
"They have not shared with us any specific information, but they did confirm that the insurance company did provide them that information,” said Brain Anderson, Toni’s father.
http://www.kshb.com/news/local-news...r-its-the-last-time-anyone-reportedly-saw-her

From what LE has said, there is no evidence at all that Toni herself disconnected the GPS device. AFAIK there has been no press release with any information about the insurance GPS tracker. And none of these MSM articles ever actually quote LE speaking about the device; the information is from family. We can't just assume she disconnected it herself and did so intentionally. That is a huge fact to assume from no proof. Maybe I missed something, that is absolutely possible. JMO.

She would've been in Parkville before 510. I bet she wasn't. You said his text at 453 went unread. How likely is that if she was unharmed at that point?

Her 453 text went unread? How do we know it went unread? Is that confirmed?

If she left on her own ... why would she use ATM at gas station- if I were heading out I would have cash on hand and tank would be full. I don't know the area but seems if she was bound for a dark highway that's where she would be... not on some random exit . She seemed very open on her twitter , why post about the weather channel screwing with her weekend money if she knew she was taking off? Why was she investigating future shows she wanted to report on if she knew she wouldn't be able to report on them? She seems to be one that enjoys some nice things in life , to my knowledge she left everything in her apartment. She would have grabbed a few items at very least.
I fear she was overwhelmed with life and after being pulled over unplugged the device and just wanted to drive... on that drive she had an accident.

Ace said that. Don't know if it's confirmed. It would bad news if she didn't see it. Not replying is no big deal IMO.

Here's one more suspicious thing about the video; at the end you can see Toni leaving, (going south) and the first time there's a car at a pump but the second time it's not there.

She could see who sent it and might not have been interested in what they had to say. She likely knew what it said. If I remember correctly, as I used to have an iPhone, you can read text messages via the notification. It flashes on the screen when it comes in.

It was widely reported in the early going that Toni received a text at 4:53 but it went unread. It was also reported that the police were in contact with that person and he or she was cooperating.

Great point. There's proof they were saying they didn't know if she used her card outside or not. This is not possible with so many cameras. I wonder how many 20 somethings pay at the pump? I may get some of those answers concerning Toni. I don't see Toni doing this. It was always declined transactions at an ATM. A gas pump is not an ATM.

4:53 a.m. - Anderson received last incoming text from unidentified number.
http://www.kshb.com/news/local-news...r-its-the-last-time-anyone-reportedly-saw-her

That article just says when she received it, it doesn't say it went unread. How would they know if it went unread? TIA!

ETA I see some links indicating she did not respond to this text but I haven't seen any claiming to know it went unread. The facts are SO limited in this case it is frustrating.

Sorry, don't have time right now to track it down. It was reported that it was unread. I'm assuming the person who sent it would be able to provide that info if the police didn't already have it.

I think the headline of that article should be:

After 47 Days Police Finally Reveal Toni Anderson Left Town.

I guess they wanted the iCloud data first. That must be it. And we can now assume they got nothing from the iPhone backup.

What evidence exists that she was in control of her disappearance? I've seen nothing to support that. They are suggesting she was abducted by aliens over being a victim of foul play. They do this without offering a clear picture of her movements immediately after 449. It doesn't take over an hour to drive 8 miles.

Hmm. I see I missed a paragraph in that article.

"Investigators think Anderson traveled westbound along the Missouri 9 corridor between Kansas City and Parkville. She remained in that area until 6 a.m."

Well that makes no sense, then. How can she be in that area until 6 AM and then crash her car around the same time "on some rural, desolate roadway."

There has to be a mistake in the article. Doesn't there?

I have never even considered this before, others have, now I'm wondering if she was working with the Police. They stop her, she gets gas, she waits around and unplugs the tracking device in her car. She then hangs around the area for an hour and then disappears. She sends a text to her best friend which maybe was sent to let her best friend know what was happening.

She would have charged her phone so it would be workable the next day. She would not have just kept driving after her phone went dead or she turned it off, not when no one knew where she was. The only reason she would have to turn her phone off and keep driving would be to run away or leave for a reason, like working with LE.

LE's story about a wreck on a desolate road just doesn't add up are they covering the fact of why she left town?

You're one of the best at this. That is what Pete was saying a few weeks ago about that area ping. I hope we can keep throwing ideas out there, stay open minded, and remain suspicious of police. I don't think that's wrong, especially in this case.

I am hoping a PI will soon enter this case and give some healthy competition for cops. I'm going to inquire about the atm attempts to see if there's anything that tells a different story.

I keep coming back to Mittendorff case - family and LE discouraged people from searching in that case because they had suicide note and didn't want anybody getting hurt. Why would LE, in this case, put out a false lead about a likely car wreck, knowing that folks may get injured searching around frozen rivers and lakes for no reason? Hard to believe, but it really may be as simple as a freak accident.

We usually side eye the person whose story keeps changing. Whose story changed concerning Toni?

I need to put my own breaks on. I'm going to try to go back and focus just on what police have released and revisit if they truly have changed their story or all the rumors and misinformation are clouding my memory. Maybe I read what I wanted to read sort of thing. Cause it sure seems that police have changed their story but I wanted to revisit this before I spiral down this.

O come on now. Don't think you think is a little 'out there'. I have never heard of this happening, especially at 4am in the morning. She is a 20 year old stripper. Why would the police want to work with her or why would she want to work with police? In addition, she was pulled over by the NKC police, not the CIA/FBI, etc. This is a local jurisdiction.

I looked at some google earth imagery from the area in question - looks some high dollar neighborhoods. I keep wondering if things got out of control with a "sugar daddy." I may have mentioned this earlier, but there was a story in the paper a year ago about "sugar daddy" dating sites. Many of the young ladies used it as a way to pay for college, and some said it was as simple as going on dates with lonely old rich men. There was also a darker side where, after a couple of dates, men would basically say "...you don't really think I'm giving you $200 to sit here and watch Netflix, do you?"

Toni and her friends talked about using such sites. It fits the location and timeline if she went to someone's house and never left - so many woods and water hide evidence.

A KC local activist found her on seeking arrangements, which is a sugar daddy site. Briarcliff is a high dollar area right north of NKC, but I wouldn't label Parkville as a super rich area.

I think it would be more likely that a tinder or another mobile data app was used rather than a sugar daddy site. Parkville has a university there with a lot of students Toni's age. Toni does have a boyfriend, but I don't fully understand their relationship and can't say whether she would be flirting around on a dating app or now.
