Hello Guardians!

One of the benefits of being a Websleuths Guardian is you get a private invitation to our Websleuths Office-Hours Zoom Call, where Tricia, me, and as many of the mods as have time, will turn our cameras on and invite you to come join us and chat with us about whatever you like! Within reason, of course! We reserve the right to mute-or-boot anybody being jerks, but every one of you Guardians is a delightful angel, right?

Because there are Guardians all over the world, we may not be able to be available when you are, but our plan is to make the window as wide as possible – all day, if we can. Please forgive us if we're wearing pajamas! Let us know in the poll below which days work best for you. Select as many options as necessary.

I would not be able to participate during my work week (M-F 9-5 central US). Anytime on weekends is doable for me.

I am confident you will find a window that works best for the majority and if I am not in it then I will just have to catch a future zoom on a day I've scheduled off from work.

I'm on the US Eastern (GMT -4, currently), Tricia is in US Central (GMT -5), though we have mods in US Pacific (GMT -7), too.

My initial proposal was, should we do this during the weekday, my plan was to be online from at least 10am ET to 6pm, which would translate to 14:00 to 22:00 for those in the UK.

That is a long time for you to be online. Maybe to start with have a smaller window to see how it goes. Or do two sessions with a long break in the middle.

I agree. Maybe pick the busiest 2hr window and go with that? There is no compulsion really, just get it going and adjust as it goes? X

Tricia and I have both said we'd be happy just turning our camera on and just being available in case anybody wants to show up whenever they wanted to. We wouldn't expect any of you to be there the whole day.
That's why we're calling it "Open Office Hours." The metaphor is we're working in an office and you can walk in, sit down, and have a discussion whenever you want. It's just as easy for us to keep our cameras on as it is to keep my office-door open.

I was more thinking of a break for the mods !! But would be quite happy for the adult drinks trolley to appear !!

But I thought the Mods would be joining in on these Zoom sessions. That's a long stretch for the Mods.

Also, will they be recorded? And any long quiet gaps cut out so it's just the active part? I'm still in shock over an 8 hr long session. (Key word.... Long)

I'm still blown away by an 8 hr session.

How is that going to work for people that want to be there for interaction between members and those on the panel if there's long silent gaps in-between? Keep popping in every 15 minutes or so and hope to not miss anything? Or even if there are never any silent gaps due to people around the world checking in at different times, an 8 h r session is a long time to be sitting through for the panel and those of us interested and don't want to miss a thing.

I thought it was going to be an hour long. Boy was I wrong!

We Brits would be happy to provide a proper English cream tea ,with freshly made scones ,jam and clotted cream; a selection of sandwiches including cucumber ,smoked salmon and British roast beef and horseradish sauce. A full selection of British cakes will also be provided.
