Moorers' Bond Hearing - #2

The prosecutor also didn't bring up that they both have Florida state ID's (which was brought up at the 1st bond hearing) etc.

I agree that this was 'just a bond hearing' - but things can go off kilter in a trial too, and if the prosecution isn't able to 'recover' better than they did at the bond hearing - that just seems worrisome?

How did they get Florida ID's?

when I got my license(here in Florida) they took my New Jersey one.
And I didn't think u could get an ID from the state unless u lived here.

BTW - media reports have verified SM is still in jail. It is being surmised that he may get out today though........

Maybe she wouldn't give him the money and he has to get it thru his family!

See, this just causes my brain to go on speculation overdrive. It doesn't seem reasonable to me that he was granted bond on Friday, but spent 3 more nights in jail, when TM was out so quickly after the hearing the same day.

If some of the reports are true - after the bond hearing it was decided the C's would put another 100k of the equity in their home up for his bond (like they did for TM). So - that would seem to mean one of three things: 1. Pre-bond hearing they did not really think bond would be granted - and if it was that it would be set for a higher amount than it was - so they were ill prepared for bond being granted. 2. They believed TM might get bond but that SM probably wouldn't (so the paperwork to put their house up for her was ready to go). 3. They didn't believe the equity in their home would be enough to cover both bonds - so there was another option for SM. When the amount came in and the equity in their house would cover both that would somehow be better than whatever bond money option he was going to use. (What's one last weekend in jail at this point?)

Ok - there are more possibilities......but those were the first three to come into my head. LOL

I'm not sure they got FL drivers licenses - but rather Florida ID's. I still think they would need to show proof of residence (and shouldn't that have been brought up at the hearing?) They, if I remember correctly, got them so they could cash checks down there because they visited there so often.

Even an Id and u don't need a florida ID to cash a check.
their DL would suffice. Do u have any idea how many visitors there are in Florida, Snow birds alone!

something fishy here!

Here ya go!

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) issues non-driver identification cards to State residents above 12 years of age who don't have a valid ID card, driver license or instruction permit from the State or any other jurisdiction. The ID card can be used to prove your identity, age, and residence in a variety of situations. The identification card is valid for four years, and expires on your birthday four years after it was issued

I think it has more to do with getting FL resident rates for Disney and less to do with cashing checks.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner lol. There are dis boards posts about checking disney cruise prices and getting a fantastic deal for in state residents on one they were able to book last minute. FL resident pricing for disney tickets and cruises is pretty significant.

I realize that very few cases have direct evidences, but I think that if the prosecution had a strong circumstantial case (involving forensic evidence), they would be more confident. I doubt the judge expects a video of the Moorers committing the crime. Sounds like they have nothing but text messages. I think the video of the truck would count as direct evidence, so saying they don't have any, makes me think there is nothing that says without a doubt that is their truck.

Actually it does. If either SM or TM killed HE sometime between the pay phone call and PTL then the killer could have driven the car to PTL and used heathers phone to call the other to come pick them up. Actually the last completed call between heathers phone and SM phone happened right before her car and phone left for PTL but that doesn't mean it was HE who drove the car or made the calls. It could have all went down between the call to the roommate and the call to SM phone from her apartment. We just don't know much.

As part of their investigation, police sought video surveillance along the route from the couple’s home, three miles away on Secondary Highway 814, to the boat landing, Elder said. A private home and a business had video of the roadway .Those videos showed a pickup truck going down the road to the boat landing, then returning the same route a short time later, Elder said.

The video taken from the house, which is 1.7 miles from the Moorer’s home, showed a pickup truck going to the boat landing at 3:36 a.m. Dec. 18, Elder said. At the business, which is a mile from the first camera and closer to the landing, the vehicle passes at 3:39 a.m.

At 3:45 a.m., the business video shows the truck traveling back toward the Moorer home. Less than a minute later the truck speeds by the house toward the Moorer home, Elder said.

Thank you for linking that article. I can't remember if I read that exact one (probably did) but it definitely helped jar my memory. Something about the second 4 minute phone call really bothers me. If she already had a 4 minute phone call with Sidney, why would she wait an hour to call again and then when she got through have another 4 minute conversation? That's a pretty long conversation in the scheme of things. If it was TM who picked up, there is no way you can convince me Heather would have stayed on the phone for over 4 minutes.

My gut instinct is that it was not Heather the second time. Her phone was already taken by then and this was TM and SM talking...JMO...

Trying to work and check in. Regarding what Delta Dawn said about the discount Disney tickets many hotels give Florida residents discounts too. I am curious as to what they used to qualify for a Florida ID.

Me tooo!
the Florida DMV are no nonsence you need A B C and D in your hand before u can even get past the front desk.
Phone bill
bank statement
Comcast bill
Water bill
ETC

So In order to get a FL. ID they have a residence here...
A time share?

I know a lot of Disney fanatics that fraudulently obtain Florida IDs to get less expensive Disney passes.
