Just catching up and sorry if this has already been posted. In this video approximately 55 seconds in, the reporter said investigators showed up at this man Eric's home questioning him because the first responder who attended to Jessica said she was able to talk and she mentioned the name either Eric or Derrick.

I believe it will only be a matter of time before an arrest is made. Rest in peace dear Jessica. Justice will prevail. MOO.

Edit: Just to add, no I do not believe it is the gentleman being interview. HTH.

Thank you swedie!
Hadn't seen this interview.
So it does sounds like all they got was Derrick/Derek/Eric. That stinks, if the case.

So glad other investigating authorities have been called in. Most small towns couldn't handle this.
Feel bad for all the Derek Erics in Panola county getting herded in for questioning, but hoping something breaks.

what type of accelerant was used other than lighter fluid being mentioned at the very beginning (when rumors were rampant) if we can assume an accelerant WAS used, is it likely that someone is just carrying this around? I have a zippo lighter, but I don't carry my fluid around with me. i do think it is likely that lighter fluid could be purchased at the gas station.

I believe, and have also read this somewhere, that what they're calling "lighter fluid" is not actually the kind that goes in a cigarette lighter, but "Charcoal starter."

Jessica Chambers pumped gas from 06:28:50 to 06:29:40 (http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?265018-MS-Jessica-Chambers-19-found-burned-near-her-car-Panola-County-Dec-2014-2&p=11302168#post11302168). Those 50-secs would easily handle $14 worth of gas (appx. 5.6 gals at $2.50/gal).

Another way of looking at this would be the size of the gas container that Striped-jacket carries and fills. That container appears in the video at 06:27:03; it appears to be a 5-gal container. Striped-jacket begins filling it around 06:26:17 and finishes around 06:27:08, or 51-secs.

Therefore, I am guessing Jessica Chambers got approximately 5-gals of gas for her car, since it is apparent that she was occupied for 50-secs pumping gas.

I post the above^^^ to respond to the query: "How do we know Jessica got $14 worth of gas, Does the station have a $14 gas receipt for a purchase during the time that Chambers was at the store?"

Has anybody else considered that she said 'a wreck' instead of 'Eric' or 'Derek'?

Regarding the woman's shelter... We know that there were two cases where she'd been in some legal trouble. We also know that the father worked with the local police. Sometimes having "connections" will affect how the law deals with someone. If she was hanging with a guy or a group that was leading her down a bad path, might she have been given the option of going into the shelter and getting away from those influences as opposed to going to jail?

If there was an explosion in the front of the car , would the force lay the seats down possibly ? OR if the handle on side of seat that operates the seat got hot/ melted, might they have fallen back because the mechanism was not operational anymore? Trying to figure out if they were actually put in the down position on purpose by a person. tia

Someone in the last thread, I believe, commented on this. They knew someone that works with cars and clarified that they believed it would be highly unlikely the frame of the seat could have melted back like that. As you can see in the pictures, they are made of a type of metal and are released by metal contraptions (the clicky things on the sides).

I think the reduction from that debate was, did the fire department or police lean the seats back to look for evidence/put out the fire? Or were the seats like that to begin with?

I am still waiting for LE to confirm Jessica drove away from the gas station by herself.

I actually do NOT think this is a good thing. Anonymous has helped in cases where the investigations had stalled or local officials were not investigating. That is not the case here. This is actively being investigated by local and federal authorities. Let them do their jobs. I don't see how Anonymous can do anything but hurt the investigation at this point.

Amen that the FBI is now involved. Jmo, but that whiskey bottle bothered me too. You take everything and THEN determine if it is relevant. You definitely do not leave something that could be a clue.

And yes!! Charcoal fluid! I never thought of that. I heard lighter fluid and my mind automatically locked into the kind I use for my zippo! Thank you!

The presence of accelerant does somewhat point to some level of premeditation, imo. Not necessarily days, weeks, or months worth of pre-meditation.

FindHG, this, IMO is unprecedented. I've never in my life seen 7 reporters/investigators dispatched. One or two, yes. But 7? I hope they get to the bottom of this or find some people willing to speak off-camera. I know people are scared, but this community deserves justice. Jessica Chambers deserves justice.
Just thinking.....given what has been sussed out about the 'activities' in the community, maybe 7 is for "safety in numbers"?

It's also possible they want to keep certain specific people occupied while other specific people are interviewed so it cuts down on phone call or text alerts "warning" people or giving info so they can all keep to the same story.

It's also worth noting that the technology may exist to suss out who is texting whom and when while in the physical proximity of interviewers.

The tangled web may be wide and deep.

In thinking about JC's mom, it's also worth noting that she has to live in this quagmire and when the eyes of the nation pulls out, she is back to both local enforcement and organized crime being in control. None of these local people are in an easy position.

Do we know for certain it was a battered women's shelter? It could also be a homeless shelter or he may not have wanted to say rehab? Rx & street drug abuse seems to be rampant among young adults in many communities. (I'm in no way saying she "deserved" to die or is any less deserving of sympathy & a full investigation. It's just very curious to me that she was living in any kind of shelter.)

In one video clip Charlotte Wilkerson says: "they left the party...[then immediately corrects herself and says] SHE left the party..."

http://www.wbtv.com/story/27589639/...omfort-burning-victim-before-death... <snip>

After 3 views, I'm definitely hearing Charlotte saying, "When I left the party", then she changes it to "she left the party. That's when it happened to her."

It sounds like she didn't see Jessica leave and finds it hard to talk about her friend being set on fire. Can't blame her for that.

I also want to point out that all the talk about gangs, drugs and possible police corruption is coming from Facebook gossip, with Anonymous being a big instigator in that.
Is Anonymous a quotable source?

Bessie - the quote is correct now. My own words start with "After 3 views"

I believe she walked away closest side of the gas station, top left corner (near the icebox, which is viewable in the surveillance video and in google maps). The area where the blue car is parked, in the distance, is where she walked off to. Which is a huge patch of grass/gravel that can hold many cars, and many people.

As far as we know at this point, there was only one person present when JC supposedly spoke a person's name.

We don't know a lot about this one person yet or his relationships to all the pieces of this puzzle. I'm keeping my antenna up until more is known.

I would love to know if the 911 caller was still present on the scene when this "utterance" occurred and if this person confirms the same thing.

There is still a lot to be revealed and getting everything that 'can' be absolutely confirmed would help fit some pieces of the puzzle together.

So far, in my mind, I've seen enough back story that just about anything could still pop up. Oh what a tangled web.....

I used to be a burn nurse, just adding this FWIW. When an accelerant is used, it usually causes a flash of flame. Breathing in the fire could easily burn the tissues of the nose and mouth, even if no accelerant was poured into them. If Jessica was inside the car when the fire started, I think she would have been overcome with smoke and lost consciousness before 98% of her body could burn, and wouldn't be able to get out of the vehicle. I have seen deep 3rd and 4th degree burns on the front of the body with no burns on the back or butt where they sat or were laying. I think Jessica was standing when an accelerant was poured onto her, outside her car. She caught fire and she breathed in the flash of flames. The soles of her feet were not burned because she was standing when it happened. The fire would burn out as soon as the accelerant/clothing burned away. She fell to the ground and was found there. Maybe the 911 caller did see her running on fire, but she was on the ground by the time the first responder arrived. If so, the perp had to be RIGHT THERE. I've seen severe burns come to the ER and still be talking. But not for long.

Sorry if this is too graphic.

BBM. I posted exactly the same thing, earlier in the first thread. Until the swelling and blistering becomes too significant, she would be able to speak, not loudly, but she would be able to speak. I'd be much more concerned with if she were in shock, and how that would effect her reasoning and ability to communicate.
