Does anyone know the title of Linda Oliver's book? TIA I am just curious.

  • #322
Mods, is there any possibility of breaking this up into subcategories? I don't think that is the correct WS jargon but it's getting extremely difficult to continue to keep up with and follow with so many different spins. TIA!

I have a question thats been bugging me through this whole thing and i haven't seen anyone say anything about it yet. If the guy filling up the gas tank said he knew Jessica....why was there no interaction between them. You can see her walking around the car when she gets out but there is nothing between them. No "hi"...No chitchat.

"Nothing that is protected by the grand jury, or that is subject to being taken to the grand jury is a public record under Mississippi law and that's why we're not releasing it," Champion explained.

Here is the link to the video of DA Champion interview. He may have said more in that. I don't recall.

Cady, Thanks for this clarification.

After I said that I thought that possibly Darby was talking about Haley and said somebody called HIS department, but I still think a 911 would go to the police first. JMO

Trouble is, with just about the entire population of Courtland being of suspect character, for one reason or another, we can't narrow down to a handful of perps because we have no real clue about the motive. LOL So, we have to speculate about a motive and then look for most likely matches. Different motives, different perps. !!! JMO

At the link is the interview. I am sorry where in the interview he speaks of the Grand Jury. Sorry you may have to listen to the entire video. MOO

It's a ways in. From what I could tell, he said the same thing that's quoted in the article. It's interesting to me that he brings up a GJ when he keeps saying they have no "credible" leads. At this point, I hope they're also following up on the "incredible" ones. JMO.

Imo. The feds are building a rico case as well. So they may know who is the muderer; but they maybe gathering enough evidence to round up multiple people on other charges at the same time. This will help other people to spill the beans with the hopes of a minimum sentence on other charges. Jmo

Dexter, I agree with you completely. I see RICO encompassing some very heavy-hitters involving guns-money-drugs-sex-children-football-cheerleading-etcetera, and stretching its tentacles across a very wide territory. I believe that is why the US Marshalls are in the background, and perhaps why local DA, sheriff, and investigation may be a tangent. Unfortunately I believe the TOS restricts me from elaborating further, however Pooh is a decent springboard. He is mentioned in the Ali Alsanai second interview (ie. the long one).

Thank you for taking the time to do this.

In an effort to help keep us focused, I have put together a timeline of known events as mentioned in main stream media. By no means did I capture all aspects, but I feel that I have listed most of the accurate known information at this time. Please feel free to add to it, I may make comments on some of my findings later, but this has taken most of my morning.

Jessica's car found fully engulfed
According to Panola County Sheriff Dennis Darby, a passing motorist alerted his department and the fire department to the scene. Darby says by the time rescue workers got on the scene the car was fully engulfed in flames. The driver tried to tell rescuers something but she was so badly burned she could not be understood. Several people are being questioned by detectives, but no arrests have been made. The teen's car, and any potential clues inside, are charred black. Investigators did find a cell phone at the scene. "We do have a phone that we believe is hers and that is what we are attempting to gather the information from," said Hale. Detectives spent Monday going through the phone for clues.

MSM Source: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story/27589639/first-responder-tries-to-comfort-burning-victim-before-
"There was a party going on and she was there," said Chambers' acquaintance Charlotte Wilkerson. "When she left the party, that's when it happened to her."There is surveillance video of Chambers at a convenience store near her home a couple of hours before she died. Panola County Deputies watched it and shot video of at least an hour of it, paying attention to any people who walked in and out of the store. Champion says a judge signed an order so investigators can get Chambers' phone records. He expects to receive those Wednesday.

MSM Source: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story/27600181/man-questioned-in-death-of-jessica-chambers-released
Thirty-one-year-old Derrick Turner says he was picked up Monday morning and was taken to the Panola County jail where he was questioned in the death of 19-year-old Jessica Chambers. "I was just called in for a situation I didn't know nothing about." Turner said he knew Chambers. "But I don't just know her like that because I'm way older than her. So I've seen her around at stores and everything, but I don't just know her like that." Turner said he was not in Courtland, Mississippi when Chambers was discovered lying next to her car on fire. She died not long after she was found. "They was just asking me did I know her or was I sleeping with her, you know," said Turner. "Like I said, I didn't know her like that."Turner did know, "the times I was around her you know, she carried herself she was a good girl. She was a sweet girl so that's why I'm messed up about it, whatever happened to her, I hate it happened you know. "Turner said investigators never told him why he was being questioned in Jessica Chambers death.

December 10th – Lynnsey Fowler and Amber Shields visit crime scene
MSM Source: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/12/10/woman-set-on-fire/20195725/
Lynnsey Fowler and Amber Shields, who said they were close to Jessica Chambers, wanted to see the spot where their friend was attacked.
Fowler kept shaking her head in disbelief as she stared at the charred, rutted ground where Jessica Chambers' car sat after it apparently ran up a slight embankment. Fowler remembers the teen from her sleepovers with her sister.
Fowler said she passed by the scene Saturday on her way to fish for crappie at Enid Lake.
"Sunday morning, I took my phone off the charger and looked at Facebook, like I almost always do, and I saw the Fly High Jessica Chambers page," Fowler said, referring to the digital memorial Chambers' friends and family had set up.
"I got sick to my stomach," Fowler said once she realized what had happened. "I can't believe I didn't see anything when I passed by here. I wish I had. I would have helped her. I would have fought for her if I had to."
Fowler works at the Batesville Sonic Drive-In where Chambers was a frequent customer. She often would order one of those massive Route 44 drinks "that was almost as big as her," Fowler said.
"She was my Sonic baby. She was up there all the time, just all the time," Fowler said. "She always had that smile on her face, always looking in her mirror fixing those eyelashes."
Shields — who, like Fowler, lives close to the crime scene — went to school with Jessica Chambers at South Panola High School where Jessica Chambers graduated in 2013. They hung out there and socially.
"She had fun with life, Shields said. "She was a very likeable person and ready for anything. She got along with everybody."

December 12th 11:09 p.m. - Eric Bibbs officially questioned
MSM Source: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...ath-jessica-chambers-says-he-did-not-know-her
One of the people investigators questioned is Eric Bibbs.
"That day that it happened. I had been here with a toothache since about 6 p.m.," said Bibbs. "I think maybe they came by here about 9:30 p.m., they even went to my grandma address. They called my mom."
Bibbs, a married father, lives just down the road from where Jessica Chambers was discovered horribly burned lying next to her burning car. Investigators say Chambers was able to talk with the first responder. Bibbs says the investigator mentioned to him that Chambers had said the name Derrick or Eric.*
"He said there was an accident I think down the road and your name was mentioned," said Bibbs. "And he said I think one of the other people said the only Eric I know in this area is Eric Bibbs."
Bibbs told the detective he did not know Jessica Chambers and wasn't even aware of what had happened to her. The investigator never told him why he was being questioned.

MSM Source: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...llow-new-lead-in-jessica-chambers-murder-case
"I called the sheriff's department and I told them everything that I knew," said tipster Ray McClenic. "I said, 'What y'all are looking for, I don't know what kind of vehicle.' I said, 'But it's got really, really loud pipes on it.'"
McClenic said he heard a vehicle driving fast down his street the night Jessica Chambers was discovered burning next to her car in Courtland, Mississippi more than one week ago.

December 16th – Ex Boyfriend Bryan Rudd cleared
MSM Source: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...ared-as-a-suspect-despite-social-media-claims
One thing is clear, investigators say Jessica's ex-boyfriend is not a suspect, despite what social media is saying.

December 19th 6:02 p.m. - Mr. Mister and Rachael Tutor officially questioned
MSM Source: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...ard-fund-grows-lab-results-expected-next-week
George Mister and Rachael Tutor say they're the latest to be questioned in Jessica Chambers murder.
"They kept us up there for like 6,7,8 hours," said Mister. "I took a lie detector test, I took a swab test."
Investigators wouldn't confirm the pair was questioned, but a jail log shows Mister's name on the date in question.
"They questioned me about a text message that I sent Jessica, two days before, and I guess that was why they may have thought something, I don't know," said Tutor.

Friday, December 29th 4:51 p.m. - Cause of death
MSM Source: http://www.clarionledger.com/story/...hambers-investigators-seek-suspects/21005697/
Chambers was found on Herron Road in Courtland a little after 8 p.m. Dec. 6, walking away from her burning vehicle with burns over 98 percent of her body. Coroner Gracie Gulledge said the cause of the young woman's death was thermal injury. Officials classified Chambers' death as a homicide, but in spite of interviewing what they have said is more than 100 potential witnesses, they say they still have yet to emerge with a prime suspect.

Further, I would like to know if LE has looked into and/or taken possession of the clothing seen worn by the people on the surveillance video, especially 'gas can man', and the person driving the car he was riding in (his 'wife', I believe, but don't have time to find a link).

  • #337
LE don't ever want to act prematurely in an arrest... They have to have their investigation completely in order, and have enough to persuade a judge to submit an arrest warrant... Same goes for an indictment...when a grand jury is called, all evidence must be sumbmitted at that time. They can't go back after the fact and say, "hey, I forgot this, or just found out about that", etc. As much as I support and respect LE in general to the fullest extent, I am so disappointed in the handling of this case from the minute LE was involved. We should all hope and pray that their mismanagement of the crime scene alone doesn't give any future suspects' defense attorney the easiest win of their career. MOO.

Edit: This was a reply to a post on the last page. I finally figured out what I was doing wrong when trying to reply. Sorry everyone for the confusion!

So far, so good as to defense lawyers, I fear. JMO

Exactly. This whole 'investigation' is a defense attorney's wet dream. IMO, even if they do manage to drum up an arrest, it will be hard to get any charges to stick, as far as Jessica's murder is concerned. Hopefully this is where the FBI will come in, and nab said person on another charge. It isn't all that uncommon for LE to seek other charges on a suspect when they know that an investigation to the initial charge has been tainted in some way.
