Dumb question. Why would he need to text Ben? Don't they work at the same location?
He'll never give up on it. jmo- he'll never give up on her! Jessica!

I'd bet BC works in the mechanic's area separate from the sheriff's office .... why would BC lie about the text?

I don't think he lied. I am wondering why not talk to BC face to face? Texting is so impersonal.

Maybe it's time to start looking into some of the theories and clues from these "wannabe detectives".

Seems LE has hit the wall IMO.

Your post made me find :read: a fellow websleuths poster Foxfire's comments on LE engaging the public in their investigation.

i am quoting from the Holly Bobo thread the following quote by:

Foxfire,"Here is the part I am missing-why should LE straighten anything out for the general public via media or otherwise?

'The American Public is a very valuable tool in missing/murdered persons investigations, analogous to an audio video camera across the USA'..

We live in the age of communications. To ignore this valuable tool & resource speaks volumes, imo.

The antiquated strategy of holding info close to the vest in investigations & silence by LE only causes innocent victims lives and mounting cold cases, imo,..."

One only has to consider the tremendous success of John Walsh/AMW's captures of america's most wanted fugitives due to aware citizens tips.."

Foxfire concludes one of his posts from the Holly Bobo thread with,"
I realize that many folks probably interpret my comments to be anti Law Enforcement. I am very pro Law Enforcement/Public Safety.. 'Without public safety for our families, we have nothing"

i felt this this such an important observation & that it was worth repeating for Jessica's thread.MOO

Maybe its me but I just don't get it.
This is not some elaborate "hit" from the mafia or something that was planned and thought out for months by some sicko.
This was a spur of the moment "rage" killing. Possibly revenge , gang or hate motivated.Yet not enough clues or suspects to make an arrest? Personally I'm beggining to wonder if LE in fact know exactly who did it and are afraid to arrest them.
Gangs, corruption, racial overtones, blotched crime scene analysis, leaked crime scene photos of the car.
I think this is way deeper than anyone can fathom at this point.
MOO.
Or maybe it is far more simple. They need to start over to see it from a different point of view entirely...such a suicide. It could change everything if they took out the crime element and expectations.

SeriouslySearching, I truly believe in my heart that nothing would bring that town a greater sense of restored peace and quiet than to say, "This was a suicide. Case closed. Media out." Am not so sure that wouldn't have happened but higher agencies attached themselves to the investigation. The FBI contributed $25,000 to the fund and am fairly certain this would not have occurred if they suspected suicide.

Please know this in only MHO and I would never disrespect any sleuther working off that premise.

Oh, I think they have suspects but they're keeping them close to their vests hoping those suspects don't flee the area.

I totally agree. Too many coincidences in location, time frame, etc. that LE/FBI/ATF definitely should solve this case and likely have individuals under their radar. Maybe they need to create some distance for some reason. Idk. But I know that LE/FBI will solve this case as quickly as possible and wouldn't drag it out, especially since these individuals are stone-cold murderers and potentially have children. That is a HUGE danger to the community and to anyone else that comes into contact with these individual(s). I guess that's another disturbing thing about this case is that these individual(s) are psychopaths imo and well you just can't get around that, they could hurt anyone, so they need to be caught asap. If I lived in that town I would keep on LE/etc. to solve this case properly and make sure every single perpetrator is caught.

Did LE/FBI/ATF publicly disclose what accelerant was used on Jessica and car? I would think they would have that info by now? Jmo/

I mentioned (and linked) waaay up above the classic car fire death in England in 1931 which i) may have been a murder, an accident, or a suicide, and ii) will stay forever unsolved; in some ways, particularly with the DA's recent admission of cluelessness, it's a historical template for the current case. Here's a more thorough article about it.

Northumberland Moors murder mystery of Evelyn Foster’s death

Sorry too many eyes on LE/FBI/ATF, this case will be solved and perpetrator(s) brought to justice. They need to keep talking/monitoring people. AND, since the perpetrators are likely not first time offenders or geniuses, they will commit more crimes and eventually get caught./Jmo

It is painful to watch and listen to both Jessica's mom + dad in that video...it really hurts to see them so upset, and it's not fair that this happened and for them not to have better answers or closure. :-(

It's difficult, but I think if LE/FBI/ATF need to take lots of time to gather evidence and all perpetrators, then they may understand this. I just hope it's not individual(s) that Jessica's parents are friends/acquaintances with because that just seems more of a betrayal. And I hope Jessica's parents are receiving proper grief counseling, just can't even imagine the grief/pain they must be going through now. Jmo/

The scene in the TN burning victim case found Sunday is eerily similar as it is right off the highway, on a curve, and is shielded by trees. There is also a secondary scene also directly off the highway.

http://www.smokeybarn.com/body-found-in-adams-sunday-morning-tbi-investigating/

Adams, TN is a little over 4 hours away.

This is definitely a strange coincidence (???), especially the secondary scene, as you note. RIP to whomever this turns out to be. I'm getting kind of creeped out by these deaths by fire, whether related or not. Edited to add: it would be scary to think that TN has a serial killer via arson on its hands. We obviously don't know if that's the case, but it would account for people in Courtland not talking.

A 19 yr old sleeps all day and gets up at dark thirty to go wash her car on a Saturday night..Stops in the one place she will most likely see everyone that she would be avoiding in order to change her life around.....I have a hard time believing she was going to wash her car..

Classito

There is something so wrong about what we have been told. Suppose there were no cigarettes to purchase. Suppose the word cigarette was code for something else. LC wanted cigarettes and SR asked to bum a cigarette. Suppose LC called her daughter because she wasn't back home with her "cigarettes" yet.

IIRC, the new five o'clock to five thirty timeline began the night of Trish's radio podcast. All I want to say about that is that if my precious daughter left my home and wound up doused with an accelerant and her beautiful body was on fire and she died within hours, I would know exactly what time she left my presence and I would know every single word we spoke that day.

Ever since reading the CNN article on DA Champion's approach to the Johnny Lee Butts murder, I have felt that Champion was out-of-his-league when it comes to investigation. Prosecution is another matter, I suppose, because he did obtain a a plea bargained conviction.

Now that he is basically stepping aside -- and even suggesting that Internet sleuths may soon see unseen evidence -- I believe that it is time for his constituents to take notice of his term of office.

In the ensuing weeks, DA Champion might find the handling of the investigation into the murder of Odin Lloyd [ie The Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial] a good example of securing and investigating a crime scene by competent professionals, and then protecting a chain of evidence which eventually leads to a decent prosecution.

Very interesting article about the Butts murder. The FBI did investigate and DOJ prosecuted it as a hate crime under federal statutes. Perhaps BC's employer and race are factors in Jessica's murder and is why the FBI are so actively involved in this case. Jessica's murder happened on the heels of the Ferguson grand jury decision and tensions were running high.

I think Jessica's murder will be solved.

I totally agree and appreciate you sharing that.

I respect @Foxfire, his posts, and most of all, his service as a fireman.

The general public can be a huge asset and should not be overlooked —especially in this type of investigation.

Wasn't there an incident in Ferguson during the protests where someone was shot and set on fire in his car? Seems to me he was a witness who testified against MB. I deleted all my bookmarks regarding Ferguson. Does anyone remember that incident?

I think transparency and also public support for law enforcement is the very reason the Prosecutor wanted all the evidence released after the Ferguson Grand Jury made its decision. The entire Courtland Mississippi community has every right to know what cops know about Jessica's murder in order to keep themselves safe.

Heck yes!

Something is a tad off between the Sheriff and his mechanic. Of course as for "it" it's all just a turn of a phrase, don't you know.
