ATasteOfHoney, I believe there are two Coles. Panola Emergency Management Agency Director Daniel C. Cole in the Panolian article was not the Cole who allegedly heard Jessica; that was Cole Haley, Fire Chief of the Courtland VFD, one of the first responders. Lisa Dougherty also did not hear Jessica, she was just repeating what she heard a fireman (presumably Haley) and at least according to one early news source, a nurse, say she said.
May I request a link for the nurse who said Jessica spoke, please?at least according to one early news source, a nurse, say she said
Daniel C Cole, 41, took over the Emergency Management position when his boss died in 2008. Only one guess on how the poor man died. Yep. Car accident. Just prior to his retirement.

The Emergency Management office is more commonly known as civil defense. The agency may be best known for disaster response but also coordinates with the Miss. Emergency Management office, acts as a liaison for fire departments, and cooperates with the mammoth Homeland Security federal agency.

With so few LEO on site at Jessica's CS, coupled with the early shut down of the CS, it is doubtful, in my happy little mind that Daniel C Cole was there. I believe he is taking the message he heard his CVFC say and repeating it.
Daniel C Cole

Cole Haley held the position as CVFC about a year+ before Jessica's death.
What else I find interesting is that there apparently were no on-lookers even after the Med-Evac was put into the air to land at the church. Why didn't any one curious go to see what the commotion was about? The fire engine sirens, the popping, crackling noises of Jessica's burning car, the 10' to 12' high flames, the smoke, the med-evac was ignored by the community at 8:15 on a full moon Saturday night. Unbelievable.
