Thanks for updating this story. I don't know how to post links but there's a story at www.abc24.com about Mr. Held. The last sentence says his daughter is working with a search team located in Texas.
If someone would go to that news website and find the article to post here, I'd really appreciate it. Or, tell me how to and I will.
I tried copy and paste, but I think the link would blow the margins here.
Thanks,
Terry

I hope this man's daughter is able to find some comfort in knowing what may have happened to her dad. I think the not-knowing would be agony for anyone. Bless her heart.

Held was last seen in the vicinity of Highway 302 and Highway 51 on January 4, 2011, at about 12 p.m. He had just gotten his hair cut at B.J.’s Barbershop in Horn Lake, Mississippi. He was driving a maroon 2007 Chevy Silverado.

On September 22, 2011, Held’s vehicle was pulled from the Mississippi River near Bass Landing. Held’s body was not inside the truck. Officials believe that Held’s body was forced out of the vehicle by the current through a busted window or that while trying to escape the wrecked vehicle was swept away by the current. No foul play is suspected in Held’s case; however, Held is presumed deceased.

Sept 24, 2011

<<The back and side window on the passenger's side were smashed and water had been allowed to swirl through the vehicle since. The river current had ripped off the hood of the vehicle.

The river was high in January and water levels in the spring were higher than in more than 50 years.

The vehicle is believed to have been submerged in the water since Jan. 4, 2011 when Held was last seen. He was first reported missing by a grown daughter when she was unable to reach him.>>
