I don't understand spin when he's relaying info received from FBI that can easily be disputed. If the phone was restricted... it was restricted. If the phone attempted, but was unsuccessful.... it was attempted and unsuccessful. No spin. :twocents:

BBM. It is spin.

Possible if they walked real fast depending on how good of shape the person is in and how familiar they are with the area. But not likely

Probably not if they were trying to skulk, cuz', they were doing something illegal?

Soooo... now it's a 11:57pm call instead of the 8:30pm call??? :waitasec:

Well, it depends on who you listen to. Megyn Kelly and DB/JI attorneys say a call was placed/attempted at 11:57. As of last night, Jim Spellman/CNN said he had not gotten any information about an 11:57 call.. he's sticking to 8:30.

I don't understand how an attempted call would show up at all on phone records, let alone a 50-second attempt show up on phone records, if the phone was out of service. (That's what we mean by restricted, right?)

Then, it seems odd to me that someone would try to access voice mail three hours later if they already found out the phone was out of service/restricted.

IMO, that phone had service.

We have to remember, even DB said she was transferring numbers between the phones that night. Why so much activity on a phone/phones that couldn't be used?

Having service and being restricted are two different things. If I don't pay my bill to TMobile, I still have service; but, I can't make a phone call (restricted). The FBI, according to attorney has said that the phone was restricted. The cell records that FBI can access are going to be more extensive than what your normal monthly bill would contain, in my opinion. :twocents:

If the call was directed to another number, the first number would not show up on the call detail. Records only list calls that are completed.

JMO
Not necessarily, AT&T in my case could tell what number was being attempted to call when they deactivated my phone. They also told me what sites on the net were being attempted. I don't remember what my actual bill said though because they backed out any other charges after a certain point when I knew the last number I called.

I'm thinking an abductor tried to call MW's phone at 11:57 PM and then later tried to check the voicemail in hopes that a call had been returned from MW's phone.

If a phone is out of service, as DB has claimed, how can it receive voicemail and be checked?

Ridiculous spin in light of the fact their own clients insisted weeks ago that no phone calls could be made.

JMO

Maybe the clients didn't know phone calls were made... ie sleeping or working.:twocents:

I've never lost phone service, but I would think (correct me if I'm wrong) that the person who didn't pay their bill could not enjoy receiving a call or a voicemail either.

Attorneys do lie and spin. I doubt the FBI shared any records that the attorneys were unable to obtain on their own.

All imo..So essentially the attempted calls are logged at the tower even though they were rerouted to the payment center. When phone records where pulled by LE they also saw where Jeremy had attempted to call Deb to let her know he was going to be later than expected. The phone debacle is making sense now. To me anyway. Again jmo.

Well if the stoopid phones were restricted.......how did they call MW's phone for 50 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then there's that. ^^^^ Could DB have pulled the restricted thing outta her ummm hat so to speak?

:banghead:

The clients were wide awake and not working when they told a reporter no calls could be made. Now, their attorney wants the world to believe that calls were made but not by his clients. I doubt they'll find 12 people that gullible.

JMO

No matter what carrier I've had (I've had Verizon, Sprint, and Alltel in the past)...

If my phones are restricted, and I can't make outgoing calls. It MIGHT ring once and then goes directly to customer service.

The call definitely wouldn't last for 50 seconds, unless someone was attempting to get through to billing.

What about incoming, and checking your voicemail?

There is a difference between being 'out of service' and being 'restricted.' If you are late in paying your bill, many service providers will give you a grace period BEFORE they cut off your service entirely. During this time your service is restricted to incoming calls only and if you try and make any outgoing calls, besides 911, you get connected right to the Payment Center instead.

I am not sure if you can call voicemail during this time.

It can't, which is why Deb would not have done it; but a desperate abductor that wasn't aware of the restriction might attempt it.

I like Jim Spellman alot, but he got that info from MW. I will take FBI records being discussed over MW any day of the week. :twocents:
