Considering she didn't know him and he would subsequently talk to the media (and had already before he even entered the home), why would you want to talk to someone who all but certainly is going to repeat everything you say and not keep your confidences? Would you trust someone who is likely to publicize what you say?

Well why let him in at all then? If nobody trusted his motives were simply to offer support and not to talk to the media about it (which I frankly don't blame them as he has been all over the media), then maybe they just let him in so as not to be rude or to avoid him telling the media he was turned away again, making them look bad. Since they did let him in, I find it odd that Debbi didn't at least say hi or introduce herself to this victim of a child abduction and listen to his experience. I find it odd that she wouldn't want to listen to what he had to say as one of very few others that has had a child reportedly abducted from a crib, but I understand that you may not - it's just my opinion.

I think your first question is a great one. Maybe they were trying to give him the benefit of the doubt or maybe someone thought he was one of the few people who could provide insight and help the family. I don't know what all he said about the family before he entered the home but my recollection is some was critical/doubting. Maybe Debbie didn't want him in and only agreed to it if she didn't have to speak to him. I can see why she wouldn't have trusted him before he entered the home since he had done interviews complaining that he hadn't been able to get into the home.

Jim Spellman of CNN did respond to a tweet from CaseSignal asking if the area of the sighting by Mike T (Motorcyle Man) had been searched before yesterday. He confirmed with KCPD that it had been searched twice before.

hmmm...that's odd. ABC News/GMA reported the area had not been searched by LE, only a cemetery near it (twice), because LE would not expand their search more than a 1 mile radius from Lisa's home.

GMA cited their source as LE. I'm not saying J. Spellman is wrong because it was reported the cemetery near the MT sighting was searched twice but not any other area near the sighting. From Mr. Spellman's tweet I take it to mean the entire area around the sighting was searched when another report contradicts this and cites the same source. Like most everything else in this case it is probably a miscommunication. :sigh: It could be Mr. Spellman's source didn't specify the area (cemetery) that was searched. If I tweeted I would ask him.

And the reporter lied and said LE was their source? I don't see how LE could have searched the area and local media not be all over it. Have their been any searches outside the 1 mile radius of the Lister home besides the cemetery?

I am so glad they pulled that past the media. There is so much about this case that they (the media, not LE) are doing more harm than good. I was sure hoping that after all of that info they would have searched it.

I agree. It makes sense that when LE is going to search an area based on a lead or tip, that they don't announce it to the media. It minimizes the chances of someone planting evidence or the public showing up at an LE-only search site in advance and contaminating the scene. IMO...

Mr. Abeyta also definitely questions their choice of attorneys. He also seems to question their real agenda here as do I.

Abeyta believes events that occurred the afternoon of Oct. 3, and that appear to have escalated throughout the evening and into the early morning hours of Oct. 4, could have caused the potential suspect to “snap” and act on impulse. He surmises the abduction of Baby Lisa was not planned prior to that day.

He also believes the man has the ability, through his extensive training and professional experience, to not only kidnap the baby but to evade and elude police. “This man is by no means an amateur,” Abeyta said Friday.

Abeyta's daughter, Denise Alves, who is part of his team that assists in finding missing children, said Friday, "We want police to go the extra mile with this potential suspect. We don't want, however, the suspect to be accused of something he might not have done."

I think we can all guess who is it they are suspecting. Well, sorry. A person with extensive training and ability to evade police is not going to kidnap a baby and then walk with this baby for hours, while dressed all in white. It just doesn't fit and it makes no sense whatsoever.
