Hmm..considering I've never heard of this guy, I'm gonna say his ability to actually implement a takeover of this country is limited.

Dennis James Kennedy, Ph.D., is Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and founder of Coral Ridge Ministries, a $37-million-a-year corporation with an audience of 3 million which he founded in 1974. His weekly television program, The Coral Ridge Hour, is carried on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and INSP Network, and syndicated on numerous other stations. His daily radio program, Truths That Transform, is heard across the US and in over 200 countries and is available on the program website.

He is also listed as one of the "50 Most Influential Christians in America".

We all know that there are plenty of muslims who just want to live and let live. We've all said it a million times. That's not what's being discussed.
In actuality, this situation isn't about religion at all. It's about a self-centered woman who is using her religion as an excuse to infringe upon the rights of another. It's BS; and anyone who falls for this excuse is an idiot. That's just my humble opinion. ;)

Ok, don't miss my point. If I have to hunt someone down to learn about them after never hearing of them, they're not likely a huge threat to National Security.

If this Kennedy guy actually starts blowing up planes in the name of his God, we'll discuss.

I find that highly offensive. But, that's just me.
No, it's me, too. I'm beyond "offensive." They scare me to death. I read through this entire thread. What I see here is a lot of political correctness and just plain lack of knowledge.

This is America. Muslims are beginning to divide us like they have in France, England, Belgium (in Belgium, there are more of them than Belgians and they are very worried). In the market in which I shop, I was standing in the checkout line when I saw ahead of me a very tall woman in a black burka. Only her eyes were visible. A chill ran down my spine. My first thought was "here we go..." She was with her husband. Now, why come to America and bring with you Taliban dress? Doesn't that shout out "radical?"

In light of 9/11, I think we need to be vigilant. That includes not allowing outselves to be "cowed" by unreasonable demands. The arrogance is growing IMO. For example, refusing to remove the burka for a driver's license picture. Hello!!! If that bothers you, please go back to your country where all that behavior is AOK. Don't file lawsuits.

9/11 changed everything. We need to remember that and be more careful.
To them, we are all infidels.

America was founded on Judeo/Christian principles. Are we going to add one more?

I truly mean this in a humble spirit. By the way,James Kennedy is harmless - he is a straight-arrow, rather boring, stodgy guy. We have nothing to fear from him, no matter what he says. He has mixed Christianity with politics - I think that's a mistake, but only God can judge.

May God bless our country.

I am totally freaked out by the hostility towards Islam that I am reading here. Very sad to see such overgeneralizations, rash assumptions and just plain ignorance of a group of people, the vast majority of whom are very peaceful.

May God bless all of the people of the world.

I am not afraid of Muslims. I am afraid of extremists from any religion, fraction, or individual that would bomb clinics, Olympic park, a federal building, or fly a plane into a building and other terroists acts..
America is big enough for many faiths and the reason for that IMO is wisdom of the founding fathers in the separation of church and state.

Wow! thanks for the input. You're saying that the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful? What a concept!

Wish I'd thought of that!

Read back through the thread and quit making assumptions. We've been saying that the majority are peaceful ALL through this thread.

Damn, that gets tiring.

Amen to that!! While there are some Muslims that go to extremes most are just like us, and while I do not agree with all of thier demands such as keeping faces covered during an ID, nor do I think that they are all out to get us. Just let people be.

The tone here is anti-Islamic. Some posters seem to equate Muslims with anti-Americanism and violence. I find that to be frightening and sad. :(

A bit of a side note: here in PA (home of the largest concentration of Amish and Mennonites) we have had a religious exemption from photo ID's for ages.

I will step up and and admit I do equate muslims with volence. Hard not to anymore. It doesn't make me stupid or mean spirited, or full of hate. I am just so tired of all of the violence they inflict when you do not conform to them. Call me racist but EVERYDAY there is at least one story about them wanting us to conform to thier beliefs and bombing people that don't. I have as much fear of muslims as I do hardcore fundamental christians (Fred Phelps) so you can't say I am biased at least.

Two issues, or possibly 3 on this thread...

1 - praying woman. Interrupted, and complaining. Too bad. Hopefully gym treats all religions the same and doesn't allow Xtians, Wiccans, etc to block lockers in order to pray. Also - in this woman's defense, the other person could have had common courtesy to allow her to finish praying. But I see no reason to tattle to the gym about it. It's not a comment on the world as a whole.

2. Islam and the right to observe it in the U.S. I think most people are going to be on the side of allowing freedom of religion, right? And that means whatever odd thing goes along with it. I wish the Xtian school near us wouldn't have an annoying dress code - girls playing Basketball in long skirts is very 1920's - but that's up to them. They aren't hurting me.

3. Extremism - in any form is a problem. Frankly, I'm more concerned with the Judeo-christian religious extremism movement b/c they pose more of a threat to my freedom and rights than any extreme American-hating Muslim.

We must be on different threads, I haven't read any hostility here, mostly just common sense.

I think the woman in question was in the wrong, and in the wrong place at the wrong time for what she wanted to do...pray all you like when you're at the gym but don't expect others to wait for their turn on the treadmill until you've finished-that's just rude.

I remember when the IRA was bombing London and Sir Mountbatten was blown up on his boat, along with his grandkids. I don't recall folks assuming that all Irish Catholics were mad bombers. I think the present problem has as much to do with fear of folks who look different as it does with religion. JMO.

Wow. Just wow.

Apparently the ladies on The View haven't told you how to feel on this topic, and you're lost.

This has nothing to do with people who look "different". It's beyond insulting for you to infer it.

Maybe she needed to get her things from the locker, don't you think? why would you equate getting the management in in order to access her things with a word such as 'tattle'?

I think the present problem has to do with someone being rude and inconsiderate.
If Muslim women want to pray-got for it-but try doing it somewhere else other than a gym which is not a place of worship but a place of exercise.
And if the men annoy you, try going to a womens gym- that is just plain common sense.

Think what you will, but my view has nothing to do with their skin color.
