ABOUT US
Nancy and I met while working in Calgary, AB with IBM. After accepting a job with Cisco Systems we moved to Cary, NC on Jan 1, 2000.

On Feb 23, 2004 Isabella Nancy Cooper (INC) was born. She weighed a healthy 7lbs.

First blog sight I found that he talks about family.

not that it matters but that is my hubby's birthday and mine is the 24th...so sad that little baby has no mama

But how do we know he told LE he bought bread and milk at 6 AM ? LE have not stated this as a fact or even been ask about this and this time line.

They were ask did he buy cleaning supplies.

RR,

Not sure how the bread and milk statement got out there, but I have been hearing it for a while. I know that does not make it a fact, but pretty good authority says that they have a video of him buying cleaning supply (1 item) at 4AM.

If it is the Harris Teeter that has been mentioned, it is in the same shopping center as a Wal*Mart, and they have beaucoup CCTV cameras in the parking lot, top of the building, etc. There are probably some inside the store as well, so whatever the case, I believe that there exists adequate possible evidence to prove that he visited that location, and to be able to establish the timeline, and what was purchased then.

Now, this could likely be established easily, but how did the info about the bread and milk start? I am not sure, but I would speculate that the LE folks were asking about what happened that morning, anything out of the ordinary routene? When did you last see her, etc. Maybe he was thinking that he should develop a likely reason for going to the store, being out at all hours of the night, warm car engine, etc... and said, "Well, my kids were hungry for breakfast, so I went to the store just before she left on her run to grab some stuff for them to eat..." You know, it is just me, but I think that would play a bit better than... "I developed this sudden urge to do some laundry at about 4AM and ran out of detergent - what? why, of course, officer... I am sure you have done the same thing yourself on several occasions."

Thanks for the comments on the attempts at humor.... I try to see the funny side of things, if I can. I do not mean any disrespect to the subject matter, but it is a pretty heavy topic without something to lighten the mood once in a while. and I do find some of the things that folks have used as a possible alibi quite funny. We don't mean any disrespect either, but yes...when things get very heavy here..we do tend to try to inject a bit of humor from time to time. You are right about the stupid criminal stories and alibis.

OT/ Supposedly true: A flea bag wino motel caught fire, and subsequently killed several people in the hotel. They caught the person that the felt was the cause of the fire, and he also lived in the motel, but did not set the fire on purpose, he was drunk and fell asleep while smoking in bed. He escaped the fire, and was brought up on charges. His excuse? He told the judge :"Your honor, it was not my fault, that matress was on fire when I laid down on it!"

OMG! That is too funny!!

I got too far off topic on that one and am deleting it to prevent the next big news story being that Brad was cooking meth or something. Sorry!

I just saw the Greta rerun on the case. Wow. The store visit is getting a great deal of play in the media, isn't it?! The reporter also said that people close to Nancy and neighbors were also telling them the same story of the alleged affair. Sounds like it may not be speculation on their part.

Jessica Adam was on the telephone which was interesting. She talked to Nancy about 10:30 pm the night before while she was at the party. Brad definitely was not with her. The party was close by, but no mention if she drove or not. In answering the question about why she called her in as missing (Adam said about 1:00pm), she seemed to be choosing her words carefully and indicated she knew something was wrong for her not to have called or shown up.

SS the meth case you describe sounds eerily familiar. Was it in Tennessee?

OK so where are we? Search Warrants have been served on Brad's home, cars, and person now. Where will LE go next? What is their next move? Brad's office? His gym?

As Cyberpro mentioned, Brad has the ability to leave no evidence on his computers at home...so his office would probably be bust, too. So what is left to search? His cell phones and other communication devices?

That's not what he said IIRC. He said someone who is a pro at network and/or Internet applications may not be familiar with simple e-mail applcations. Right???

Hey--really big welcome to all the people who joined due to this case! It's nice to have you here. You have a lot of really good insight and information, and I hope you will stay on.

Panthera, Petra, and NanandJim--that makes four of us who don't buy the official story on Melinda Superville.

Oh, sorry! :bang: Did I misunderstand that?

Some exerpts from NG I found interesting:

Police reveal the family home a potential crime scene, and they execute a search warrant in the dead of night, 2:00 AM, not only on the house and the two BMWs, but now police plan a search on the husband himself.

you don`t want to give him the opportunity to destroy evidence, to flee, or really to interfere with the investigation. So when we execute search warrants on potential suspects, we want to surprise them. We want to get them off guard.

ROCKWELL: It is a little bit too early to tell, Nancy. But the things that I would want to be interested in, if I was the police department, is, was she on her regular route where she was jogging?

GRACE: No. I can tell you that right now. She was not.

but could the route have been familiar to hubby with his triathlon training?

MACK: No, not at this time. Authorities have not commented on what Brad Cooper was doing.

Yeah! I never thought of that! what was HE doing all night while his wife was at a party? hmmmmm

Oh, sorry! :bang: Did I misunderstand that?

That's complicated for most of us - I think. I know lots of computer folks who know ONLY their specialized areas - I am married to one! OTOH, we are also dealing with a fellow who seems to be narcisistic, which IMO adds yet another element to this equation. He likely believes he's so much smarter than the rest of us! Rarely works out well. Duh!

It is hard to say what his level of expertise is.

1. (from blog/bio) He has a degree in Computer Science. This usually involves a lot of math, not much programming.

2. MBA - No help there

3. CCIE - Heavy Hitter with networks, Cisco equipment, his specialty is Voice Over IP. Probably knows several routers and switches, but specializes in the stuff that runs voice networks.

4. Mentions on a blog post that he has a Windows Vista System, could have other systems, Unix/Linux, but no real mention of them, or even that he really cares about computers beyond his work life. (unlike me, who also has his work as a hobby!)

5. You cannot know much about Cisco Routers, at least the data ones, without at least knowing a little bit about security.

6. He might know the Voice Routers, and how to set them up, without knowing much about the Windows Operating system that his home system runs.

7. Even folks who know more than average about Windows might be suprised at what it can tell someone who knows where to look for the information. This is why Computer Forensics exists.

8. If he is communicating with someone else, they would also have to take precautions to remove data, or why bother? If one side deletes everything but the other does not, it is ALL there.

9. Deleted data CAN be recovered, sometimes very easily, unless he was running some kind of wiping program.

So, it is POSSIBLE that he has "interesting" information on his computer, but with his background, it is also possible that he knows how to eliminate it. If it was not removed from the other system, it might still be available.

IF he did this, and IF it was a "Heat of the Moment" thing, he might have had more on his mind that day than trying to sweep up the stuff on his computer.

You are right, NurseBeeme! Great job! You can see the top of the long bag bend when he picks up it up and turns it towards the side and also see what looks to be the handle. The bag is much longer than the object. Sure does seem to be the vacuum!

Well...one mystery solved, I think.

Make that two mysteries solved by you in the past ten minutes! You are on a roll!

Thanks for the explanation again, Cyberpro! I appreciate it. I guess I was confused. :abnormal: (We need a blonde smiley on here.)
