I have a nephew and niece who are bipolar, and also a friend. They can 'cycle' very rapidly, going from one state 'manic' to another' depressive, very quickly, sometimes in a matter of minutes.
When in a manic state, the require very little sleep and can stay up all night very easily, sometimes more than one night.
They speed (on the road), spend money they don't have, drink to excess, and believe they're invincible. That is called 'grandeur', where they feel all mighty, all powerful, smarter than everyone, sexy, pretty, etc. etc.
Just a few things I've learned along the way, from being in contact with them for so many years.
