Forgive my confusion. Is the person detained the interviewed woman's son in law? Didn't she say that they slapped handcuffs on her son? So, is her son detained, as well? Son in law was stopped in his car. So, where is her son?

It looked like an amazon vest. But that guy was much younger.
Younger than whom? The detained subject? Do we have an age for him?

The person whose name I believe I heard the MIL state does look in pix like it could be the guy at NG’s door, possibly. Just possibly.

That said, the MIL seemed completely baffled and probably knows little about this case, based on the questions asked of her by BE.

But she certainly WOULD know if an old Tucson woman who’s a stranger to her was suddenly being kept in her home.

I didn’t get the impression that she knew about it and was trying to hide it.

Could be right, could be wrong. JMO.

Come home, Nancy!!!!!!!!!

The lady interviewed said the detained was her SIL. No actual confirmation, but she says it in interviews. IMHO there is more than one son who lives there. But that is speculation.

Well, the video footage we saw certainly wasn't indicative of a criminal mastermind. Trying to cover up a camera with weeds and putting his face up to it quizzically. Approaching the front door hoping it would be unlocked.

If it was this guy, he does seem to fit the bill of desperate and inexperienced ...

But yeah, we will need to see a photo of him released by LE to see how it compares to the guy at the door.

Just devastating there's no actual news on Nancy :(

I was thinking that same thing. It definitely looked like some sort of delivery best. Amazon or something.
My feeling is that it may be related whether that was the same person as the perp on the porch or not.

It has been speculated that Dad was the Uber driver --- nothing was said about MIL interview. IMHO Dad couldn't be the Uber driver because of his criminal history unless Uber dropped the ball BIG TIME.
Lyft driver broke into my house and after he was arrested I learned he had a violent criminal history so I wouldn't trust that.

I'm inclined to think this guy they have detained is a money mule. I do a lot of scambaiting and everything about this guy fits the profile of a money mule.

A money mule is someone who receives and forwards payments on behalf of the real criminals. Most have been duped and are unaware of the underlying crime/scam. I'm not suggesting they are innocent but they typically have no knopwledge of the actual crime or criminals. They just know what bank account they were to send to when something came into their account. There can be dozens of accounts around the world linked through mules before the real criminal. Knowing the first one is a start of course but a typical mule is only used once or twice to avoid being able to identify patterns.

I think today's video is a huge step forward but I have a hard time getting excited about the questioning.

Thank you for these very interesting insights! If he is merely a money mule, could his electronic devices still be useful in catching the kidnappers?

Misidentification is happening all over social media right now, its happening like in other cases. My understanding is the person who people are saying is the father is, at this stage, completely unrelated to Nancy's disappearance?

While I very much want them to find NG and the person/people who abducted her and who asked for ransom money, I hope there is no rush to find a suspect just so they can say they have one. I don't want them to find a fall guy, I want them to find the people who actually did these things.

I hope the FBI in particular doesn't rush to judgment <Modsnip>. For that reason, I'm glad that it's the Pima County Sheriff's Dept doing the detaining, though some similar considerations might apply.

What did she ask him?
I am truly shocked, and that’s rare. The nedia coverage clearly has gone off the deep end.
Missed portions due to my gasp startling my cat and also being completely shocked--but, she asked about his experience around having the spotlight trained on their family. She also asked about his perspective on remaining hopeful. I'm sure there is more but those were the highlights as I recall them.

Way too confused. Nite, all.

Something I noticed.....when Brian showed her the photos, she was pretty immediate in saying that's not him. Here we are trying to figure out his features under his layers of masks, and she immediately does not recognize him?

Could be that her SIL is VERY different, his weight, his eye appearance...I dunno.

Recently, LE showed me photos of a person robbing a local store and they were asking me if it was my stepbrother. I looked over the photos quickly and I immediately said: "no, that looks nothing like him. " (turns out) it was him. ):

I was shocked. I guess since he was a family member my biases told me it could not be him. As a family member (for *some* people) you just don't want to think it could be them. I still can't get over that I didn't think it was him.

This woman has to be in a state of shock! I would be. LE showing up at your house with some heavy questions - her mind must be going a million miles a minute.

MOO and all that jazz.

the POI father/son with same name (named by MIL) have an address listed under previous addresses, that address is the spot where camera crews have filmed police currently searching.
Both recently evicted and moved in with MIL. Seems like with so many people in that house, hiding NG would be near impossible. I think person detained is more likely to have a motive to scam fam with bitcoin ransom.

Has anyone checked to see if he has been booked into the jail yet?

IF the perp did leave behind dna (taking samples from hired help suggests he did). I wonder what the source is. The person in the cctv footage seems quite well covered. I would be surprised if Nancy put up a fight given her mobility issues and the fact the perp has a gun. Did they leave behind something like BK?
Retired PD said “probably drooled from flashlight being in his mouth”! Fingers crossed and 🙏
