Kind of wonder if they’d make statements like that about a man. John Walsh and so on.
I don't think so. They are so cringe.

Earlier I was talking about the marks seen in the driveway.

“She couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself,” Nanos said at the news conference, noting that while Nancy Guthrie had mobility issues because of her age, she had no cognitive issues.

On the website Calc maps I put in a travel of Nancy that line up with the marks and go to where the marks stop.

It is exactly 50 yards.

I am not claiming that this is what happened, or that the drag marks are from Nancy, only that it is a possibility.
I'm with you on this thought. From the very start, the marks look like heel marks being dragged.

Maybe they don't like the FBI textbook for handling kidnappings. It's odd that the Guthrie family haven't spoken to the media regularly, which is what most families do when someone is missing or kidnapped. In their videos, they don't talk to their mom. MOO

Elected Sheriff is gonna do what he THINKS gets him most votes ….
Do you have a link that the sheriff is acting out of self interest? Or that he is compromising this investigation to garner votes? Or is that your opinion?

If it's opinion, I think your characterization misrepresents the sheriff. He has a 50-year career in law enforcement. He holds a bachelor's in criminal justice and public administration. Worked for El Paso Police Department for 8 years. Then joined Pima County Sheriff's office in 1984 and rose through the ranks to deputy chief. He has 6 years of experience leading a 1500-member law enforcement agency that covers 9000 square miles. His background, in my opinion, belies the easy characterization that he's a political hack, someone without professional law enforcement experience, putting his own self-interest first.

It's fair game to criticize the sheriff's performance, in my opinion. But it is grossly unfair to state he is prioritizing self-interest over solving this crime and bringing Nancy home.

I'm still shocked someone could get away with this for nearly 3 weeks and counting. The guy in the video footage does not seem particularly smart or savvy. Wild that he could evade investigators for so long.
What is your reasoning for that i.e. not savvy? He was well concealed in his dress. He grabbed the lantana to cover the camera lens. That showed he was able to make do and it did work for him. He may or may not have left any DNA but it would appear whatever samples they have are not in CODIS. Therefore he has not been convicted of a felony. so, no record that shows he was a serious offender No vehicle has been identified. The police have had 1 or 2 raids and were, at this point, wrong. They can't even definitely discern if the ransom notes are authentic.

He used a bite light. Keeps his hands free. Dripping saliva all over? Where is it? He managed to overpower an 84 year old lady., reportedly somewhat ambulatorily impaired who has limited hearing and had her hearing aids out. Not a huge fete.

It would appear the only evidence they have is that she suffered some aggression as there was her blood at the scene.

He has a well known TV personality SG, pleading to him in Instagram videos which are broadcast on the internet...so no direct mailing to him. She seems to be responding to some script, as the several references from movies were obvious (TOMORROWLAND, Buffalo BILL and Silence of the LAMBS.

While many are quick to point out the shortcomings from LE, I see NOTHING, so far from the perp that makes me think he is sloppy. No one is invisible. We all exist. They can't find HIM OR NG. DNA may eventually track him down...or maybe not. He could be in some far away place by then that doesn't extradite to the USA, especially in a capital felony case, that uses the death penalty. (Arizona has the death penalty. ) He's been smart enough so far. 2 people missing. The perp and NG. No trail for either one of them, presently. Don't underestimate this guy! JMO

SG maybe has complicated feelings about them and the media now that she is on the other side of it. Idk MOO

If I was the kidnapper and it went wrong and she dies, I would sack it off as a bad job, I certainly wouldn’t be sending multiple ransom requests to a gossip website creating more attention and evidence pointing to me. The chance of getting any money and also not getting caught is very slim.

Those Instagram messages from SG's family to the perp make me doubt this was a cartel or drug or political kidnaping. The fact the brother and sister are absent from the last couple of videos makes me think it's not a grudge or revenge or military thing like a former pilot from the national guard who served with the brother. This is a targeted kidnaping by someone who wants the attention from SG. Stalker? Groupie type that has gone rogue? Jealous colleague or acquaintance? Best angle here is examine the motive. I do not think he was bungling. I think he was pretty damn effective. JMO MOO

If a kidnapping, what has the perp achieved so far in regards to SG?
A former post noted SG was supposed to be doing the job she loves and glamorous at the Olympics.
Now she is scared and raw, was that the intended outcome more than financial gain at this point? Even without proof of life for NG, do the continuing ransom notes extend the perps enjoyment?

I guess, they are trying to maintain SOME sense of privacy, in their unbearable grief. jmo

If my mother was missing I would want the FBI to help, not local LE or SO. JMO.

Not sure if this is okay to post so please delete, if not. I tried to see if someone put it here already before posting it myself.

This video was posted on the ring app earlier today. The OP says the video was recorded last night (Feb 18). This is 0.4 miles from Nancy's home. An individual was spotted then, further in the thread, you will see a video of a police cruiser coming around about 10 minutes later and making a u-turn.

I'd want everyone to do their job and stay in their lane and get off of social media. JMO

Savannah Guthrie missing mom live updates: Authories continue search for evidence near Nancy Guthrie’s home — even canvassing in ‘middle of the night,’ neighbors say
"The FBI is desperate to take over the investigation, but cannot unless the Guthrie family specifically asks, multiple law enforcement sources told The Post."

BBM.
This was posted 11hrs ago. Why would the Guthrie's not want the FBI involved?
A) This is SOURCES SAID "The FBI is desperate.". Sources can say the sky is orange and it doesn't make it true. IMO (maybe the sky is orange, what do I know?)
B)This statement isn't even true. FBI does not just take over a case from local authorities Does the FBI take over the Investigation. It doesn't matter if the family asks or not. I mean, they can ask if they want, but it's not going to matter.

IMO, Pima county wants to maintain control of the investigation. FBI is trying to help. Some local authorities say "Here, FBI, you do it." but this doesn't seem to be one of those locales. There is so much click bait out there that, IMO, taking it all with a grain of salt is probably wise.

skin cell she
It could be anything. Skin cells IE: Touch DNA, it could be any body fluid. It could be he punched NG (how horrible that sounds) and he bleed and his blood is mixed with NG's.
Shedding can be good or unpredictable. If the person is a good shedder then touch DNA works. Often it is a poor source and contaminated and mixed and doesn't work. Partial DNA is not what a prosecutor can call the smoking gun. JMO.

Thank you for that image. That actually looks just like a track from a trash/recycle/greens can to me. Since the garage is on the right side, it is possible no one drove over the track from the last time something was put out. However, where would a trash/recycle/greens can be located to have made that track? Could be a yard maintenance worker that cleaned up and took greens that direction, of course, but it seems like the can would be in the garage or on the garage side. Just thinking out loud. Could be Walker or wheelchair tracks, could be something LE pushed in or out, could be a lot of things.

You're welcome. I agree that it could be wheels from a recycle bin or a trash can. However, a new poster pointed out that the tracks look like they get narrower as the tracks wind around in front of the tree.
Another poster pointed out where the trash cans and recycle bin were. In and near Nancy's garage area.

It seems like the most convenient place to place the bins would be at the edge of the road on the right side of the driveway.
The tracks are on the left side of the driveway from my understanding.
Maybe Nancy didn't like the bins by her mail box on the right side?
That street is totally black at night and the neighbors are a good distance away too. I don't see why he would hesitate to park on the street especially if he was trying to avoid Nancy's cameras from capturing his vehicle.
