Thanks for clarifying. I have been intrigued with LD as a potential suspect and if he truly has the alibi that he claims (and likely is true because it can easily be checked), I'm disappointed that he can prove that he wasn't in the area. If he, indeed, can absolutely prove with a strong alibi that he wasn't in the area that night.

I have known of a case where the perp could prove they were 200 miles away and in another state the night of a murder. But, it turned out that he checked into a hotel that was 200+ miles away from their home, then immediately went back to murder his wife, and then returned to the hotel by early morning hours. This was years ago and the perp didn't take into account cell phone pings, so that was problematic for him. And, the hotel had footage of him leaving and returning in a side door of the hotel and digital evidence of him leaving and returning to his hotel room with his key being recorded at the times of entry and exit.

FBI had enough evidence linking him to NG's disappearance that a federal judge approved a federal warrant to search his house. A federal warrant has a fairly high bar so while he may not be the actual perp, I'm still curious about his possible involvement. Maybe there will be evidence in his Road Runner that the FBI took in for testing.

Yes, and this was an elaborately planned crime, so it makes sense that a solid alibi could be configured within it as well. Not saying LD is the guy by any means, but insisting one has an 'alibi' can be in and of itself suspicious and not necessarily the first thing a person who had absolutely nothing to do with a crime of this magnitude would be insisting to claim their innocence.

IF the family had the money…

I would have paid regardless of what LE told me to do. Maybe they didn’t have it.
FBI advised them, that the ransom people are all opportunists. No proof of life, basic!
Maybe FBI warned, that Giving the ransom, would not return NG. 😢

I understand the family wanting to do anything they can, even if a long shot. Tough call.
Really pray for them. 🙏💕

Does anyone know who dropped her off, and why so late? I wonder if it was a special celebration. Usually elderly people don’t stay up that late.
Her son in law, Annie's husband, dropped her off.

I don’t think it’s “could it be”, without a doubt in my opinion those are the same weeds. This case was botched from the beginning. Even before the porch video came out (on Feb 10) it was obvious that those weeds were out of place, the doormat and Nest camera mount should have been taken in to be examined for evidence, and the house should have remained a crime scene and not released nearly immediately.

I hope if I ever go missing (since I live near Nancy) that sheriff Nanos is no longer employed here. How embarrassed he should feel at his handling of this case, IMO.
DNA can be collected from a few cells these days, so even if he breathed on the weeds, the possibility is there that his DNA transferred. In any case, it is ridiculous that the weeds were not even collected for a cursory examination.

Once they left her body somewhere on that mile stretch, they got rid of their blood-stained gloves so that they wouldn't have evidence of NG's murder and her DNA in their car.
Do you think the glove may have been hidden and was found through the couple searching (for example, poking with sticks)?

Maybe they did. We wouldn’t know.

SG makes something close to 8 million dollars per year according to reports, with an estimated net worth of 40 million dollars. Her husband owns a boutique consulting firm, which isn't counted in SG's estimated worth. Sans write offs and credits, 6 million dollars is probably closer to their yearly tax burden than it is an unobtainable amount of money.

Even so, a bank would surely have loaned it to them. Heck, someone probably would've given it to them.

The front door might have been processed first for all we know.
LE may have placed the card on the door for the investigator.
Someone mentioned that LE let a delivery guy through the tape to deliver a package. People were not free to recklessly roam all over that crime scene. The house was taped off.
Totally disagree with this. They WERE allowed to walk up to the door and leave the amazon package and the card. The media was there, they saw it, it was after that, that some of the media decided to walk up there themselves and take photos/videos. The house was released to the family on the Monday after her disappearance, Feb 2nd.

It is unclear whose blood it is, but it is being tested. Investigators and analysts combed through Guthrie's Tucson, Arizona, home in search of clues to the 84-year-old's disappearance. During a news conference on Tuesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said the house was turned back over to the family on Monday.

I’m sure SG is so cherished at NBC Today Show! Of course, producers have to be very careful how they handle such a situation. No matter what the outcome of NG, I hope Savannah can continue on NBC, she is so loved! 🫶🏼💕

JMO
I hope someone is telling her that none of this is her fault - that even if it turns out that whoever did third did it because of SG’s wealth or fame that doesn’t make it her fault. This was sick deranged evil people and she cannot blame herself for their actions. I hope that she is getting some help for her emotional well being. And whether NG is found soon or not, I hope her husband can convince her that she can’t do anything more for NG in AZ now and takes her home soon to be with him and her children so they can hold her and love her and support her as she continues to go through this nightmare. And if she decides not to return to the Today Show, I hope it is because she chooses to take a step back to heal and not because she feels in any way responsible for what happened to her mother. NG would not want SG or any of her children to let these monsters determine anything about their futures - no mother would.

They might just go away, done. N.G just not delivered or told where she is for sure, what's it to them at this point, they see no ransom coming their way.
That's a huge worry.

Very promising to find and look for DNA on blood-stained gloves found within 1 mile of NG's home and found on a possible escape road (Campbell Avenue).

If they still had NG in their car, wouldn't they wait to get NG out of the car before disposing of their blood-stained gloves.

One possible idea is that NG was no longer alive and they got rid of her body in that one mile between NG's house and where these blood-stained gloves were found. Once they left her body somewhere on that mile stretch, they got rid of their blood-stained gloves so that they wouldn't have evidence of NG's murder and her DNA in their car.

JMHO
Great more possible evidence! It’s hard to imagine which, if any of the gloves, will lead to important DNA. At this point, as the FBI has decided, run down all leads.
In Grey Hughes show, a couple found a shovel, it was investigated, collected. Keep it coming…
I wonder of NG can be found that close to her house? Did LE have dogs searching that area, within a mile of her house?

These weeds should have been sent to Othram Labs for DNA analysis. This type of forensic analysis is right up their alley, and it should have been done on day one. Othram - A Revolution in Cold Case Resolution

Respectfully, the discussion went that way organically. Your points about AZ law are well taken, but to the best of my knowledge, the Mods had no issue with it. That's good enough for me.
Respectfully, I didn't "report" the post to the Mods, and didn't think it was a TOS issue, but you didn't give a source for what criminal charges you listed as possiblilities for "moving a dead body". I realize it wasn't just your post that was in that conversation, to anyone then, opinions about what crimes have been committed would be more useful if the actual state laws were considered. MOO

Hadn't heard about the shovel.
Gray Hughs was an accepted source here but I seem to remember that having changed. Anyone know?

Mods I hope it’s okay to say this. It is not a criticism of anyone. I will report my post so that mods can view it, since I am often misunderstood.

I would like to hear more from the Guthrie family. Nothing scripted. Maybe raw anger that confirms rumors that authorities are not working together, maybe putting some fire under them.

Or, maybe they could give a statement, not scripted, of total confidence in where the investigation is headed and their support of authorities. It’s 21 days out and we have only seen scripted statements and the one video of Savannah expressing her belief that everyone has good in them.

I would like to believe Nancy is safe and alive.

It seems something is very “off” here.
I totally agree with you on all of this!

A part of me wondered if maybe in one of the ransom notes the perp/s mentioned something really personal and threatening about one or all three of the siblings indicating that they have been stalking NG’s children and they may be in danger too. I thought maybe that, plus that awful man cruelly those fake ransom letters and contacting AG and her husband, the search warrant and paparazzi, may explain why they left AG’s at first or have seemed more excluded.

Perhaps too behind the scenes they have been doing their own investigation with the cops by going down memory lane, visiting old hiking trails NG went to, looking through all yearbooks, photo albums, emails, texts, photos, contacts and phone numbers, receipts and bills to see if they can find anyone who may have been known to her, was in her life but while their true selves and intent remained hidden because all along they were hers and theirs biggest threat.

I could be wrong and am just speculating of course but I agree with other posters who said they think the perp/s is enjoying the sense of power and control they have over the Guthries, LE, the media and the truth about what happened to NG.

It does make me wonder if that if anger, rage or revenge played a role or motive, like that really interesting investigator who specializes in kidnapping and ransoms mentioned before to BE, than maybe it wasn’t just against NG or SG but all four Guthries? Maybe he wanted power over them, to take something from them but why? Did he feel at one point that they had power over him or his family? Definitely not victim blaming but I wonder if he fixated and projected his anger and insecurities on them even when they did nothing wrong and this is how he will make them pay? That is awful though and only a thought but not a good one so my apologies.

I also wonder why now? Doing this heinous crime is heartbreaking and unfathomable as is and it makes me wonder if there is something about the timing that is significant. NG and her family have been living in Tucson for over 50 years. NG has lived alone for 6 I believe. Why target her at all and what carry out their plot that last weekend of the month? And why so much? Did the perp lose a job? Or are they homeless or something now? Have they targeted elderly victims or women or those who live alone before but now their crimes are escalating even further know?

I wonder if they even kept the same shoes, clothes and car they used to abduct poor NG? Or if because of the blood from NG’s injury and possible incriminating evidence now on them they threw the things out and put the car in a junkyard? It would probably look too suspicious to clean the vehicle out and the smell of blood can sometimes be strong. I wonder if there is a way to find out at the landfill or place where they dump old or seemingly dumped or abandoned cars? Still I hope NG is alive and find strength and hope in that her family and friends are never going to give up on her, like SG said. I know they just want to bring their mom home.

I feel for SG too. I read an article in which her coworker said SG blames herself for her mom being taken because she is rich and famous. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The ones responsible, the only ones responsible, are vile criminals who took her. Their cruelty is not a reflection of NG, SG, CG or AT or the love and lives they lived. Rick of poor, door open or closed those perps had no right to NG, her children, her family or money. What they wanted have no jurisdiction over her home, property or ability to sleep safely and comfortably. If anyone should be going crazy it should be them for falling so slow to represent the worst of mankind in the cruelty and harm they caused NG, her family and community.

There is a difference between broke and broken as shown by the fact they had the power to break in, abduct and harm Nancy Guthrie before torturing her family with it, but they still don’t have enough to fix whatever damage they have within.

JMO/IMO sorry for the ramble

There have been so many video’s of people’s door camera’s recording video of people going through so many people’s yards in Arizona. I would not only get camera’s for front and back door— I would get a german shepherd.
And I would bring dog treats to break in! German Shepard are easily bribed!

Does it show the person actually walk up to the door? I wasn't aware of this. I just was suggesting what could be a possibility.

Nanos said the investigators processed the scene for 20 hours.

From the scripted notes, what I observed is CG holding back his emotions and being stoic because he was told to. I saw him as a bull in a china cabinet and rightfully so!

I saw SG as a professional news reader, staying calm because she is in front of the camera.

I saw AG as a mess not wanting to be there.

We have no idea of the dynamics there. They all live in different cities from each other. They all love “mom” and want her back and this has to be difficult at the least.

I do wish they would come forward, especially since Nancy, if she is well, has to be worried about them also. That would be a mother’s greatest concern. I would be thinking if someone did this to me, they might do it to one of my children.
Today street in front of NG home is now one way and msm have been told no cars parked on the street so just tents. This change seems random given some are packing up anyway...but some are speculating that the family may be coming to the house today. I think that would make some sense. Keep the story moving at a quiet time in the investigation.
