Agreed. Very off. This site is very empathetic towards the family, but based on what I've read on other platforms, the goodwill towards them is waning. It just seems like in other cases, the families fight hard for their missing loved one, and quite frankly, I don't see that here. MOO.
The family are victims. I'm not judging how they are behaving. I think it's sad and cruel if there are places that are commenting about waning "goodwill."

Investigation IMO has been problematic.

Cessna aircraft is outfitted with high-resolution thermal imaging cameras capable of detecting heat signatures in rugged terrain. After argument, sheriff had re-assigned pilot to ground duty. No one else could fly plane. Valuable time lost.
NG home area searched, then left. Neighbor alerted missed roof cameras.
Home area not off limits yet revisited by investigators.
Pizza delivery guy walked right into investigation.
Rio Rico man detained because of Door Dash/door broken down. Nothing.
Nearby mother/son home searched. Why? Nothing.
Man/home searched wth no evidence except he was previously in prison.
Found glove revealed no results.
Backpack currently no evidence.
APS left card left in door.
No requests for "people" organized searches for NG.
No ground searches of desert near Tucson.
Reward has not yet worked.
NG not found. Criminal(s) not found. Bitcoin continual demanders not found.
What has a search with no results cost so far?
I agree the investigation has been problematic in so many of the areas that you've mentioned.

At the same time, though, I'm hopeful that FBI and LE have a great deal going on behind-the-scene that puts them much closer to finding the perp and NG than we are aware.

Hopefully LE and FBI may find a:
--helpful match from a forensic generalogist with the glove found that wasn't in COIS
--backowner purchaser who may already be on their radar or from whom they can get DNA (Walmart provided a list of people throughout AZ who purchased that particular backpack)
--a DNA match with the partial DNA found in the house
--a DNA match with the comingled blood that FBI is believes has DNA from both NG and the suspect

They almost certainly are and I wish they would have been collected. Even though they may have not contained any evidence as the perp had gloves on, and i doubt saliva/sweat etc would be very viable to extract from organic material.

With that said you have to remember the significance of them likely wasn’t known until video footage was recieved.
I agree. Except!!!! They knew he was at the front door to remove the camera. So at minimum, why not take the mat? There are so many cases where they can get a footprint. Or find dirt, flora or fauna that leads them to a particular area. So many things could be potential leads on that doormat. And certainly the flowers at the door were odd. I would have collected, as they didn't look like something that would naturally blow in that long and broken state.

My apologies if this has already been asked/answered as it's impossible to keep up with this fast-paced discussion.

Has the Guthrie family hired their own private investigator/s? After nearly three weeks with seemingly little or no progress in the case, I would want to get a second opinion, so to speak, and engage my own team of investigators.
good question. Others will chime in but I sure have not heard about any being hired. Brian Entin had a retired investigator that said that can often lead to confusion and chaos in the investigation with too many involved. But don't know in this case.

*I recall the case you are referring to.

*I also recall another, where the suspect seemingly had an airtight alibi: Until the person whose house he was at far away admitted to lying for him.
And that's a real possibility, too. If a suspect has a close friend who has lied for him in providing an alibi, the friend may have remorse and guilt about lying in a major criminal investigation and end up later telling the truth.

From the ABC NEWS article posted by @RedHaus :

Maybe a ray of hope:

Jason Pack, a former FBI agent and current chief executive of Media Rep Global Strategies, said the gap between what a case looks like publicly at day 20 and what is happening inside the investigation can be enormous.

"The things most likely to break a case open are almost never the things being discussed in one-on-one press interviews. They are happening in labs, in Walmart security offices, in gun shops, in backend server logs, and in conversations between investigators who have been staring at the same timeline long enough that it might be time for a fresh set of eyes," Pack said.
I hope so. The sad part is day 20.
For someone 84, or for a child, it’s devastating. While it might be just routine for authorities, it is devastating to the victim.

They hired a private security person to guard the house, and some news media mistakenly thought the family had hired a private investigator. If they hired a private investigator, the public hasn't been told and we don't know.

The goodwill toward the family was interrupted on like day 3 when AB announced to her over 300,000 subscribers (at that time) what her source leaked to her.
Well, not all the family. We will know in the end what really happened.

Yes absolutely. When i first saw the picture i wondered what they were doing there
And the doormat that he was literally standing on (possibly dripping a little saliva with that bite light in his mouth right onto it) is still there too.🥴

EXACTLY!!! I can’t wrap my head around running DNA evidence outside of the FBI at this point. I don’t care how friendly your relationship is with the Florida lab. Direct to the FBI lab is the only thing that makes sense. It’s arrogance at best and deliberate interference at worst.

He explained that it takes an extra step out of the process. All of the evidence they collected from the home was sent to the Florida lab.
Also all of the buccal swabs that were taken from family, friends, aquantiances were all sent there as well.

It's good for us to keep reminding ourselves of what Pack, the former FBI agent, said in that ABC interview. I'm hopeful that some of the things that are happening behind-the-scenes are going to result in matching DNA and other evidence (such as the backback, gun, cell phone pings, vehicles) with the suspect or suspects.

Savannah Guthrie’s ‘Today’ Absence Amid Mom’s Disappearance Spurs Questions Over Next Steps at Morning Show

I really think we are all going to be surprised. SG, imo, will be back soon. Again, imo, if for no other reason to try and tease out the perp and keep LE focused and the public engaged.. JMO

There was a possible exit ramp. Pay the RANSOM. NOT DONE. THE FRENZY WILL SUBSIDE. Unless a DNA suspect is identified and arrested and is convicted, this case is in the freezer. JMO

Indeed. If law enforcement never finds her and they advised family not to pay the ransom, I can't imagine the self-doubt/guilt/anger/torment family will be experiencing.

I could not agree with you more. Something does feel "off". I wish at least they would make an appearance to support the LE efforts, thank them and the public who are so concerned about their mother.
Perhaps, both SG and FBI prefer “Scripted” statements, just what they think is best, and will work to appeal to the abductor.
I wish someone would do a video discussing the movie lines, why important?

From the scripted notes, what I observed is CG holding back his emotions and being stoic because he was told to. I saw him as a bull in a china cabinet and rightfully so!

I saw SG as a professional news reader, staying calm because she is in front of the camera.

I saw AG as a mess not wanting to be there.

We have no idea of the dynamics there. They all live in different cities from each other. They all love “mom” and want her back and this has to be difficult at the least.

I do wish they would come forward, especially since Nancy, if she is well, has to be worried about them also. That would be a mother’s greatest concern. I would be thinking if someone did this to me, they might do it to one of my children.

Although not tresspasing, someone left an APS card in the front door. No one stopped or saw this. Who is to say there weren't tresspassers if this can happen?

Why would APS be stopped?

APS staff are government employees carrying out their duties so ultimately lumping them as a comparison to assert there is trespassing fails, imo.

The card had identifying information nothing being hidden.

The representative has every right to leave a card for the benefit of families albeit most with less resources.

Mrs. Guthrie as a taxpayer is entitled to an offer of support from APS, imo.

Its' not true that this government employee's participation in the crisis response was unknown to anyone.

The SO knew:

All imo

Savannah Guthrie’s ‘Today’ Absence Amid Mom’s Disappearance Spurs Questions Over Next Steps at Morning Show

I’m sure SG is so cherished at NBC Today Show! Of course, producers have to be very careful how they handle such a situation. No matter what the outcome of NG, I hope Savannah can continue on NBC, she is so loved! 🫶🏼💕

IF the family had the money…

I would have paid regardless of what LE told me to do. Maybe they didn’t have it.

Arizona couple may have uncovered a key clue in the search for Nancy Guthrie, finding a pair of blood-stained gloves and a rock with dried blood roughly a mile from her Tucson home, days after she was reported missing.

The couple, who requested anonymity, discovered the gloves on Feb. 11, lying about 10 feet apart near Campbell Avenue in the Catalina Foothills.
Very promising to find and look for DNA on blood-stained gloves found within 1 mile of NG's home and found on a possible escape road (Campbell Avenue).

If they still had NG in their car, wouldn't they wait to get NG out of the car before disposing of their blood-stained gloves.

One possible idea is that NG was no longer alive and they got rid of her body in that one mile between NG's house and where these blood-stained gloves were found. Once they left her body somewhere on that mile stretch, they got rid of their blood-stained gloves so that they wouldn't have evidence of NG's murder and her DNA in their car.

Family dropped her off at home at around 9:30pm Friday night, and then she's reported missing by noon the next day, that's a fairly quick turnaround. I wonder if she missed an appointment or something.

ETA: Or maybe she had an in-home care provider due to her mobility issues who noticed her absence and the suspicious circumstances at the scene.
She was supposedly going to a friend's house to watch their church service on TV and she never showed up.
