Are you sure of this? I am seeing feb 14.
I was responding to someone else's post who said it was 30 January or something. I already addressed the Silence of the Lambs connection earlier in this thread; my view is that it was wording from a FBI playbook that has been tested as effective in these situations.

Is there any way LE would have cleared SIL by now? If he was the last person to see her alive, I assume this makes it very difficult indeed to clear him unless there is clear digital evidence of no link?

Good point MikeShanty - you would think, given the massive speculation, that had he been cleared, an official statement would be made.

The police showed up because someone called and accused JLR Investigates of trespassing (youtube streamer)

Does anyone know if we are allowed to share JLR's live on Youtube? He is at he scene at the house right now live. Hoping a mod see's this as I'm not sure what Youtubes are allowed or not.

EDIT: NVM he is not allowed found out another way,

Looking at the current footage of the house from live feeds now. I know it's dark, but there seem to be very few police cars around the house and nothing taping off the driveway or boundaries to the house or really anyone guarding the property. Is that standard? In my country, where a property is the scene of something very serious or high-profile, it would usually be taped off / boarded up / police guards while there is intense media attention.

Oh dear! Am so not surprised by that...JLR will do almost anything in pursuit of 'boots on the ground'

If she was killed in her house and her body was there for a few hours, would the pacemaker still have synced with the apple watch? Meaning could that last sync with the watch at 2:20 have happened when she was in the house but already dead?

Taking a moment because this isn't Season 4 on Netflix. A real family, a real Grandma, a real nightmare. Whether this was one crime or two, this part is twice ruthless. IMO no one intended to hold her hostage nor return her. Whoever is behind this, it's the rawest clash of good and evil, playing on heartbroken people's emotions. Extortion of the highest order. Or lowest.

Sometime I wonder if we're even the same species.

It doesn't seem real, does it?

'Now, as investigators searching for Nancy Guthrie focus on possible leads, Schweit and several other former FBI agents say the details released so far suggest the perpetrator likely had prior knowledge of the home or family, and a financial rather than ideological motivation for the crime. At the same time, investigators face challenges including verifying ransom demands in the digital age.'

'Leising, the former FBI agent, said that "the 'understand' comment is obviously referring to something in the note that we are not privy to." He said that could be a nod to the kidnappers grievances or directions on how to deliver money, while the “celebrate” reference could refer to a resolution of some kind.'

'At this point, there’s little to suggest the motive is political or ideological, Leising said. Compared someone making monetary demands, a kidnapper looking to make a statement can be more dangerous because there is less incentive to keep the person alive. The hope for a big payout could lead kidnappers to keep the victim healthy.'

Investigators have been examining ransom notes and looking for evidence but have not named a suspect

I did see overhead drone footage of NG's house about an hour ago and I could clearly see someone in her yard with a flashlight looking around. I am not sure that was a youtuber or not, but I thought at the time "haven't the police already looked thoroughly in her yard?!" If it was a youtuber, even though the house may have been released by the FBI, it is still trespassing to go into the yard and look around and they shouldn't be there.

Just seems odd. It is HARD to find a body in the desert because it's just wide, barren land. Even with K9s it's difficult to find someone. But one would think if you have a suspicious disappearance of an elderly person, you might at the very least bring in a tracking k9. Grid searches for evidence. Something.
MSN

The had volunteers, K-9’s, S&R Units however one specialized plane sat out for half day

The gist of the article:

The sheriff's department failed to deploy its fixed-wing Cessna aircraft to search the area around Nancy's home immediately after she was reported missing.

The aircraft, equipped with high-resolution thermal imaging cameras capable of scanning vast swaths of desert terrain, remained on the tarmac for roughly half a day.

There was a staffing shortage that left the department without qualified pilots to fly the plane – a shortage people familiar with the situation blamed directly on Nanos.

Sergeant Aaron Cross, president of the Pima County Sheriff's Deputies Association, said that trained aviators who could have crewed the aircraft had been transferred out of the Air Operations Unit in recent weeks.
