Ive been away about an hour. Have you websleuths cracked the case yet or what?
I actually think LE may have cracked the case and is now gathering evidence and making sure that they have a slam-dunk case so the perpetrator(s) will be convicted. MO

Yeah there are a lot of what ifs and we won't know which what if was correct until its over. Your what if may be different than another's what if and i dont think judging alone person what if is better than judging another's. It’s pretty common to say, hmm what would I do in this situation, but you are correct in that who knows.
I’m not trying to judge people that are simply wondering why they haven’t paid. I haven’t really seen comments that are innocently asking that question though. Most of the ones I’ve seen have been full of judgment of the family, no matter how well (just fyi, not at all) the person asking the question thinks they’re hiding their judgment in their phrasing.

I'm thinking golf club for the flood light smashing. Plentiful in Tucson and not immediately obvious as a weapon. A heavy iron could do that easily.

MOO
I'm guessing hammer

I also wonder if they were checking the garage for something used to smash it?

so the FBI arrested one hoaxer, but they can’t find the person sending the initial ransom and the follow up ransom note, is that correct? I’m mostly in agreement with many other LE and criminology experts that the ransom notes are a distraction…but the idea that the FBI can’t locate the person the Guthries intend to pay makes me nervous. Whether it’s a distraction because they don’t actually have NG or they do and they’re trying to buy themselves time because NG is deceased, I’m worried.

How on earth this person is evading police at this point seems to me that this was either premeditated with elaborate planning, or they’re getting lucky because of LE’s missteps.

If LE/FBI does have an idea of where the ransom notes are coming from…are they thinking the Guthries need to pay first to avoid NG being killed? Or would they just go into a location w/ guns blazing?

If she was killed in her house and her body was there for a few hours, would the pacemaker still have synced with the apple watch? Meaning could that last sync with the watch at 2:20 have happened when she was in the house but already dead?
Yes. I have been involved with a study and even if death, the pacemaker will still sync.

If she was killed in the house and still within 30fr of the watch, it would have shown flatline data and they woukd have concluded early on she was dead. Its my understanding they had active heart data until she moved away from watch and phone etc. Thats why they think she left alive

SG net worth is estimated at over $40 million. Should have paid immediately IMO.
She may have, but they want more. No one knows.

Shoot them from a distance with a high caliber scoped airgun. Infrared sights if its dark. No sound and you don't have to be caught by the camera running up and whacking it with a hammer.

She should have paid a possible scammer untold millions immediately, with zero proof of life?

I have no idea where this case is going, so I wanted to see if updates on the Scottsdale crypto attempted heist.

Both teens were initially held in a Maricopa County juvenile detention facility and are slated to be tried as adults. They each face eight charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, and second-degree burglary. The 17-year-old faces an additional charge of unlawful flight from law enforcement. Both were released on $50,000 bail with ankle monitors, FOX 10 reported.
. …

The case bears hallmarks of an emerging pattern in which anonymous figures recruit teenagers via encrypted messaging platforms to carry out violent crypto heists. In May, two 16-year-olds from Florida were charged with 22 felonies after allegedly kidnapping a man at gunpoint following a Las Vegas crypto event, driving him to a remote Arizona desert, and stealing $4 million in digital assets. In that case, prosecutors said a fourth person appeared to be directing the teens via speakerphone.
….
The Scottsdale incident is the first wrench attack of 2026 in the United States logged in a public databaseof physical attacks on crypto holders maintained by security researcher Jameson Lopp.…..

Experts have attributed the rise in part to corporate data breaches that expose customers' personal details. In this publication's year-end analysis, The Block reported that the 2025 Coinbase breach, in which rogue customer service representatives accessed KYC data for many users, has been cited by security professionals as a factor putting additional targets in criminals' sights.

I understand why that are guarding the house, but are all those cars LE?

Yep. It really strikes me as some sick person that's giddy they're causing so much suffering for the family, and loves having it aired out publicly. And probably gleeful they've outsmarted law enforcement thus far.
Just complete power move. It's so gross.

The guy they spoke to was from JLR Investigates. He is a PI and has a YT channel. I saw something with those initials and went to his YT channel. He is live in front of the house right now and LE pulled him aside and told him no trespassing---even though he wasn't tresspassing. He said he believes someone was watching his live stream and called it in. LE also spoke to several of the other media persons on scene to not tresspass as well. But JLR said LE knew his name.
let's just assume that this is true...that the perp is watching JLR's livestreams, this is wild. I know he is speculating but wow. If true, makes it seem like JLR reported about something that was a bit too close for comfort. Just told my bf we will be telling our children about this case when they're adults and they'll be amazed we watched it unfold real time. just wild.

Wow that's nuts. It always amazes me how they were able to solve cases like that back then. Just good old fashioned detective work.

Fortunately, true kidnapping for ransom involving low-risk people has fallen off a cliff thanks to modern technology.
Not in Mexico. It’s just not publicized
