AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I think the flashing lights are from a FARO camera. imo
That's interesting. I watched the livestream and was surprised people could stand at the end of the (short) driveway to watch. I heard they blocked off the whole area of the road before so people couldn't get that close, and wonder why they didn't do that now. Seeing photo flashes, items being carried out, latex gloves on... it raises suspicion.

If this is what it looks like, SG's life is ruined. I don't know how she could ever recover from the horror and betrayal. I'm so sorry.
I have thought the same thing about Nancy. She’s 84. If she did survive this, what would the rest of her life look like for her and for her children? It would just be the most bizarre ending to their lives- even if they all try to return to normal. There can be no more normal after this, regardless of the outcome. So very sad. For all of them.

I'm not sure if I"m allowed to post this but TC doesn't look native Italian from me (I have a big Italian family). He looks moreso eastern European or even middle eastern. Not to say he couldn't be an Italian citizen, I just wonder if there's more to his background/immigration story.
His background was posted early on, when some were curious about AG and her spouse. We didn't know much about them and their social media was still open.

I haven’t seen this article posted yet-no big news but they discuss the fbi possibly coaching SG for the latest plea.
Honestly I also keep going back to the everything we know so far on msm because I have followed this but I still get turned upside down 🙃
Edited to add possibly

Were they usually home by 10pm? That's what I was saying, not necessarily what time they fall asleep.
My parents (around 84) are often out after 10. They go to parties, weddings, balls, Broadway plays, swim meets or even some baseball games- all which keep them out after 10. My mom was at a Mardi Gras parade tonight and didn't get back until after 10. They are in their 80s, not on their death beds! They would probably be offended by everyone saying it's weird for 80 year olds to stay out until 945 for dinner and games 😂 I will ask my mom tomorrow.

To be honest, the way SIL looks - an Italian man with beard - and even the music he writes are not a proof of anything. Otherwise, Wilkie Collins could be nr. 1 suspect for Jack the Ripper (he even died in 1889, an interesting coincidence).

Post the same photo and write that SIL opened a shelter for homeless animals, and people would see something very different in him.

I mean, there may be tons of reasons to suspect him, but not his look or songs.

You're not wrong and I wasted a lot of my time lambasting twits in the bloomin' comments sections for some of their ridiculous comments!

But the person to whom I responded asked the question about suspicion (I can't recall exact words) and I listed a handful of the reasons I'd seen ignorant people post.

NB the word "Murder" is included in song or album title ftr so that's what made people go there...

The Apple Watch evidence fascinates me. I wear my watch while I'm sleeping to track overnight vitals. From the photos we have seen of NG, she wears her Apple Watch daily. She wore it on set of SG's show taping. I don't think she took it off before bed herself. The perp(s) likely removed it right away then put it back on her charger so that she couldn't press SOS for help or record vital changes.

We don't know what other apps AG had downloaded, and I bet she did have the phone capabilities on her watch so that she could call for help if she fell for example and wasn't near her phone. I believe there's fall detection alerts as well.

If someone else were to wear the watch, it wouldn't detect the new user per say, but the vital stats would fluctuate from NG's normal patterns.

"The Vitals app takes a comprehensive look at your overnight health metrics. This includes heart rate, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, and sleep duration."

My mother always wanted to get home before dark. She always said - and I quote "let's get home before the drunks and crazies come out" (that was her trademark saying) but what she really meant was "dad's eyesight is bad and I don't want him driving after dark."

My husband and I come home after dark from running errands, but we are almost always home by 8:00 p.m.

Just my opinion, but maybe LE got some evidence results back from labs and now are curious to see whose dna is primary on the steering wheel. I've always thought it odd NG's cell phone was in the car, when it seems most people would have their phone in the house with them. Just my random thoughts/guesses, fwiw.
I did not know her cell was in her car. Interesting

And walking back the in law “fall guy” very very far out grasping at straws theory since they were JUST in AG’s house for 3 hrs taking photos….

It was unlikely to begin with but REALLY unlikely now considering they just spent 3 MORE hours there

I imagine that the NG was upset about something and took an Uber to AG's house to confront SIL. SIL reacted violently and NG is harmed. SIL then takes NG's phone and deactivates her cameras, returns to NG's house alone and makes it look like a crime scene by putting drops of her blood outside the front door (maybe he couldn't get into the house?) to make it look like she was kidnapped, and smashes the floodlight. Then he leaves her phone in her car? I'm not sure where the phone was found. Then the ransom notes some time later. AG looked a certain way in the latest plea at a certain moment like she was appealing to him.

Wow! just wow!

From what I gather, the blood drops didn't go far from the front door so whoever abducted her had their car right near the entrance. But why disconnect the doorbell camera if you knew the subscription wasn't active? Maybe they knew it wasn't active and disabled it just as a precautionary measure just in case? Maybe they didn't know it was inactive. Either way they aren't parking the car up front initially. I think that car was parked nearby and then moved up after the doorbell camera was disabled and he or they was ready to move Nancy.

The time spent in the home could be attributed to a stranger coming into the home, not knowing where Nancy sleeps, not entirely sure that there aren't guests in the home and it is a decent sized home, so they have to go through each room and clear it in the dark, find Nancy, subdue Nancy. Probably a blindfold, gag and handcuff. If the guy is by himself, he's probably going to handcuff her to an object so that he can disable the front camera, get to the parked car and move it closer to the front door. If it's a multiple team than this whole scenario plays faster so 41 minutes seems too long to be in the house.

If it's somebody that knows her, almost the same process plays out but they probably know where her bedroom is and know that she's the only one there and doesn't have to clear this home. If the goal was ransom, he's not going to talk to the victim. That may give him away. Does that person rummage through the home looking for documents or valuables? If the motive is a will or ransom, I don't see that as likely. Could be wrong.JMO.

I'm starting to lean towards this being someone that's a stranger and alone. He targeted Nancy for a ransom. This guy probably surveilled her home for awhile and had no idea that her camera subscription was inactive. Considering he sent a letter to TMZ, he's probably on the younger side and is very tech savvy. He knows to leave his phone at home when doing surveillance and when carrying out this abduction. He knows how to get the ransom money undetected via bitcoin. JMO.

This person will be caught. You just can't do something like this without leaving bread crumbs that come back to you. Not in this day and age. There's cameras everywhere. Just because you leave your phone at home and disable a home camera doesn't mean the cameras at the traffic lights or convenience stores don't catch ya!

This is all so sad, heavy, and dark. I don't think I've ever felt as affected by a crime story as with this one. There's so much to it-- a horrible crime against a defenseless elderly woman, a daughter who we only ever see upbeat now brought to her knees and tortured and humiliated publicly (the same daughter who has only ever spoken of how much she loves her mom and how she sees her sister as her twin...)... and now it looks like it is possible that that same sister may have been involved in the worst horror imaginable and then let her sister be tortured in public. And the child of AG and the SIL? He looks to be about the same age as SG's kids... what will happen to him if his parents were involved with this? Does SG take him? Heartbreak and horror in every direction for this poor family.

Well that's lovely for them! Truly :)

Do they have mobility issues or a pacemaker? I think Nancy unfortunately had limitations similar to many older people :/

I think what's probably most relevant here is what Nancy's normal schedule was.

Would that matter to sit at a dinner table with a board game?

I wonder if she had a landline and used it as her main line. My mother-in-law hated using her cell phone and most of the time the battery was drained and/or she couldn't figure out how to turn it on. My mom was more or less the same way and depended on her landline.

It’s obviously not a perfect science, of course- I just thought of it bc someone at work basically called me an old person for using two spaces. They made it seem like it was a stylistic choice when it was really just muscle memory…
I put two spaces. I can’t help it. It was how I was taught/muscle memory, and my starting to get old eyes find sentences easier to read with two spaces in between.

But you’re right, the number of spaces could shed light on age bracket….

I've been lurking and watching this unfold, but something caught my eye I haven't seen anyone mention yet. (If I'm doing this wrong I do apologize)

While watching the Fox True Crime Live Stream Feb 6th @ 1:21:32 mark, I noticed a decrepit looking, but may be fairly stable treehouse perfectly hidden and could give a good visual over NG home. Again I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I just snipped from the Live Stream. Seems interesting, if it was someone they would have a view and survey over time on NG.

Also, if this has been mentioned already, sorry about that.. hard to keep up I didn't notice if so.

**EDIT** Only reason I think the treehouse could be a lookout, was the mention of the broken floodlight which is across where the treehouse is. The mention of the broken floodlight, why break it, unless they knew the backyard well enough there were cameras. They could also used that same door to get in, reason they were scouring the garage, It looked like a basic knob door, which could be shimmied. Could've watched her turn out the lights, waited a bit for the best time, since they would have a perfect vantage from there to see the streets, break the floodlight, shimmy garage door.

I don't think so, but four hours is a long time for that, again based on my family- theirs could be different. But it would matter getting settled into the house at night comfortably, yes I think so.

Also, just to more info since we're really getting into this question! The average person in their mid eighties goes to bed between 7 and 8pm, according to studies online. So I don't think it's out of the ordinary for many to think it's odd she was out until almost 10pm for a casual dinner. It sounds like your parents are an exception which is truly lovely!
