i'm aware of where it was sent initially. and i know what SG said. neither definitively prove that LE/family didn't receive one directly. especially if, from what IMO it seems like, the family worked with the FBI to make the first few videos (unsure about the last one). if FBI wasn't publicly stating they received a note, they wouldn't want the family to either.
Yes agreed. All the info reported could be erroneous and there could be a lot of info they are sitting on which we have no clue about. (and likely is) But we can only speculate off what is reported and the veracity of that (official statements, direct quotes, affidavits.).

We can only go off what we know, and even then as we see in many cases there is misinformation, and errors. The latest was that a family source said that NG was not going to church or virtual church, but a friend's house to watch virtual church and that friend called AG when she didn't show up and they couldn't call her. I'm sure a lot of reported details in this mess of an investigation will be refuted or proven mis-reported when all is said and done.

But if she charged her watch in the same place, it would have been a known location to almost anyone who came into the house, i.e. cleaning, repairs services, visitors, etc. For reference, I leave my charger plugged in and in the same location. Then I just place the watch there every night before bed.
That’s true, but it would be enough detail to keep investigators considering it could be a true ransom and not a random internet person.

that doesn't confirm they didn't receive it though. i think it's within the realm of plausibility that LE/family did receive one but didn't publicize it so kidnappers sent it to MSM. this also goes along with my earlier comment that the motive potentially had less to do with money than it did an obsession with savannah.
The method used was always forms (feedback forms, tip forms) on websites. Easier to mask than email, in many cases – no accounts to set up, no chain of servers recorded in email headers. And when Levin showed the first note to the FBI, it was clearly new to them.

The writer of the notes isn’t doing anything by the book. I know kidnappings for ransom are unusual in the US (and Europe) but whatever playbook is usually followed hasn’t been consulted. Maximum news and publicity, not minimum, letters sent to the media, no proof of life.

I agree that this was about Savannah. I’m not sure it was about obsession. The news aspect is significant. Is it meant as a reprimand? A distraction from something else?

Holy monkey, fbi offices around the country are deploying , wow, is this normal?
No but when you're famous and friends with a Senator of Arizona and have received support from DJT you can probably get as many resources as you want. JMO

That’s the thing though….According to the guy from TMZ - who also received the first ransom note - the note said the Apple Watch was not in a place one would typically think it would be and he thinks that got the FBI’s attention. See link below for that interview.

Now the thing is we don’t know where the watch was located so we don’t know if the note was accurate with where it said the watch was. But local LE & the FBI do know where it was found. If it was not found where the note said it was - which wasn’t a typical location that someone would likely guess - if it was not where the note said then why would LE & FBI allow the family to even consider that the people who sent that note might have NG? And if it was where they said - how did they know?

Did they kidnap her? Did they help the actual perp cover up what really happened? Was the request for ransom an afterthought and that’s why it took so long for that first ransom note to be sent? Were the people who sent the note actually there that night at all or were they just fed info? And if that was the case, who fed them the info? The actual perp? Someone who helped in a cover-up? A leak in LE?

We don’t know any of those answers. But I’m about 75% sure that the location they gave for the watch was accurate and therefore about 75% sure that they had info either from being there or being told details by someone who was. I am not convinced yet that they ever had a living NG though - if they ever had her at all.

Maybe and this is just a MAYBE, since she was supposably long time friends with SG, Sg asked her to leave the investigation to the REAL experts. As far as I'm concerned AB doesn't need to profit off of a "very" good friend. Sometimes you have to draw the line. AB originally caused a big ruckus with her so called , bombshell.😢
Perhaps the FBI asked AB to keep it quiet, or she may have been threatened by lawyers on the SG side.

That was exactly my thought too. I believe it started when she and MK were discussing the case right?

Question. How long would a bike ride take from AG house to NG house at say 1:30am with no traffic and back roads?
Maps says 18 minutes. I'm not very familiar with the back roads in that area but I'd guess after looking at google maps that it would be more like 1/2 an hour on the back roads only because of the extra backtracking and winding around. Time of day would not make a big difference in that area. There is little streetlighting so you might need a headlight depending on moonlight.

That's why I think some of those early on statements/ facts, not all, but are correct. The scene was grim. Homicide came in asap.

I agree and it's also crazy to me that given all the resources SG's family has, they haven't found NG and/or resolved the ransom issue if separate, to our knowledge...

One of the ransom notes was texted to family per MSN. Both AG and TC received it, the perpetrator has been arrested.

Adding: the part about the flood light in the backyard being damaged. All this speaks to the authenticity IMO.

Is there a way for the moderators to "pin" a post on top of this thread/discussion that includes a timeline with verified information (and citations)... that can be updated as needed?

[I'm new here - sorry if this is a dumb question!]

That wasn't a ransom note. It was a few texts to AG and her husband:

"Did you get the bitcoin were [sic] waiting on our end for the transaction," one of the texts noted, according to the complaint.

He said he was just messing around and seeing if they'd respond though opinions on the matter differ.

You can view the affidavit.

Well she came out of the gates running. If what she reported from her source is true, AB definitely got the first big scoop. Also if it’s true, I can see FBI or other LE asking her to dial it down.

There should be a media thread for this case?

I honestly wish that guy would STFU - He should not be mentioning anything contained in ransom demands full stop. I mean, I guess we can't be surprised, given who he is that he making a meal out of it!

I wish FBI/LE had gagged him regarding ransom... although imo that angle is done so, if that is the case, it won't matter.
