IMO I don't see how it changes anything along that narrative.

Fits a burglary MO, but can be anything. Still can account for 2 separate crimes (initial crime + unrelated ransom scam) Remember the alternate narrative to a kidnapping also ends with the body being removed.

Kidnapping by default. And removed the 84 year old mother of a celebrity with means from her home. Makes more sense than any alternative to me.

When I joined WS a decade or so ago, Daily Mail was generally disallowed, if I recall. Then a decision was made to allow the DM because (IIRC) they so often get scoops on photos from crime/case scenes. MOO
