Interesting developments. The time Nancy (84 years old) was reportedly dropped off 9:45 PM was bothering me. Not that grandma can't be out that late, but it seems out of place to me and not the norm. IMO
If it was a celebration dinner she had with her family it's not unheard of. My mom and dad are both 77 and mom goes to bed at 20.00 but dad goes after his tv shows around 23.00 😅

I don't think it necessarily is a late time, but now wonder why they were out with mom that evening. Was someone messing with cameras at the house while Nancy was out, for example? My mind is now in suspicion mode.

Not all old people go to bed early!

9:45pm is not that late imo if they went out for a meal and then to play a few games. It’s not like she was walking home by herself she was dropped off by family.

From what’s been said I don’t think anything happened at 9:45 either as the sister was there then - I believe the suspect returned to the house later

My mother is that age and never goes to bed before 11 PM, usually closer to midnight. And sometimes she takes naps during the day which throw her schedule off, so she's up at the computer or reading a book until 3 AMish.

Really?? I have known most of my mother's friends for decades. I know their names, their children and grandchildren's names. Many of them attended my wedding. I either have their phone numbers or I could easily get them (google has most).
My mom is 82 and lives in a 55+ apartment complex. When she moved in I exchanged phone numbers with one of her friends who lives there so we’d have a way to contact each other regarding my mom.

What is the motivation of this crime? Who benefits?

Now that Savannah has been removed from Olympic coverage, I wonder who will benefit from her not being there. Who takes her spot? Could that be what motivated this crime and not money?

I just don’t see it for that amount of money. It’s really not that much imo. Not nowadays anyway. Moo. Now if it were a million dollars for each maybe. If that is the case, I’m surprised I’m not dead yet. lol
the house + retirement is prob substantial.

It's unusual for a show-biz reporter who isn't known outside of that niche, imo, and who doesn't cover crime to have a significant detail about a crime and ongoing investigation. The skepticism about his reporting is to be expected, imo.

But in this case, whoa.

How did he know?

agree about the credibility.
This has just moved so fast.... speculation everywhere.

Now you're going with the Tonya Harding angle.

A person who needs money doesn't necessarily need millions. Could be a lower amount but is needed NOW, so the person went to someone with access to liquid assets. (I don't know this, just thinking aloud.)

We still don't really know this was a ransom for money case. Maybe there was another reason to take her - is there something else in her power she could do if commanded under threat? I don't know what that would be.

<modsnip>...for example the BIL and daughter may have volunteered to have their car searched and LE went to the trouble to get a warrant and tow it to avoid any issues down the road.

This is my first post sorry I'm new to this. Is there any chance that this lady willingly went with? I understand the reports that she was taken against her will, but I'm just curious if there was any motives on her side to join

I highly doubt a fellow presenter from the Network who is a colleague and likely friend of Savannah would do this.

I think they'd need probable cause to get a search warrant.
Thank you. I read that the FBI was at the house for two hours, seems like a very long time.

Because cases are not solved in an instant.

Yeah, I get that, but was asking why it wasn’t sooner. I did get the answer and it makes more sense now.

It just seems like kidnapping an 84 year old immobile woman with many health issues would be a burden, unless the person gained something from her being gone.

BINGO!!! I just did a search and found this..

2009, Fox News fired entertainment columnist Roger Friedman shortly after he was photographed with Today show anchor Savanna Guthrie and her mother, Nancy, at the show's set. There is no recent, widely reported direct professional connection between them; recent news focuses on Guthrie's upcoming 2026 vocal surgery and a family emergency regarding her mother

So theres a connection between the Showbiz 411 guy and Savannah and she could have tipped him off.
i don't think Savannah is in a. state of mind right now to be tipping anyone off on anything.
