Yes, a suspect is different than a 'person of interest'.

A 'person of interest' can be someone that might have seen or heard something, a witness with information about the crime. Not necessarily an official suspect.
It can also be someone who later becomes a suspect.

That is very odd. That first post on this thread is dated from Monday, well before Banfield, and when NG was first reported missing. Why has it been edited almost 2 days later with a big point headline about LE having a suspect (countered by LE at this point) and a link to Banfield video? Jmo

OK, I don't know if this means anything, but I think it's worth mentioning. The daughter lives close to the mother, so I wanted to get a visual and when I look up the address there's one listed for her and a different one listed for him so I'm not sure if they sold one and moved to the other. Here's pictures for reference. Somebody pleasevhelp me understand how a couple that's been together for 20 years has two different addresses listed for themselves. Just seems kind of strange to me. IMO

A few thoughts:

1) IF Savannah and Ashleigh Banfield are REALLY good friends, Ashleigh better be 100% certain about the BIL as a suspect. If it turns out to be untrue, I’d say this is a great way to lose a friendship.

2) Does anyone know where Savannah is staying? I thought I read sister Annie’s house? This would make sense if they have hired security to be there.

3) If it was in fact the BIL, isn’t that a lot to do from 2am until 11am when they were back at NG’s house? Unless both sister & BIL were involved, he’d need to be back home well before anyone wakes up. And, get cleaned up. I’m not sure all of that is feasible.

4) JMO, but I think Nanos needs to simply read from a script and not take questions (at least live). I felt like the police handled it very well in Tepe murders. But, between these off-the-cuff pressers, TMZ/other reported ransoms, plus Banfield adding BIL as suspect, it’s all getting a little crazy. I hope this ends soon for all involved—NG, family and law enforcement.

Regarding the car of A & T being towed, wouldn’t we have pictures of this from the media? I can imagine they’re staked out near the daughter’s house as well, especially considering we have pictures of the FBI there. Just taking Banfields comment about car lightly. JMO

My thoughts regarding Banfield’s report… whether you like her or you don’t and whether you trust her or you don’t - it seems she has an awful lot to lose on this one and either she is convinced of the accuracy of her law enforcement source or she just damaged her career beyond repair. Also, while she did say things that might limit her liability - things like may be a prime suspect or family being looked at first - she also titled the video on her YouTube channel as son-in-law “prime suspect” - not possible not alleged. And she says Savannah is a friend and very dear to her - would she make such a public accusation against a family member of a friend or even a former co-worker without a firm conviction that her information was accurate? For ratings or clicks? When that former co-worker is co-anchor of the Today Show?

Another friend of mine (CEO of a security firm), bought an electronic dog that was activated whenever the downstairs door opened...BOW WOW It definitely alerted you! Bought them for all his female friends...

That is really such a nice gesture for his friends.
I have my own... Not electronic, but flesh and blood.

But I know full well, I am much safer with his very strong propensity to bark, and bark.

I don’t know that it’s relevant, but I have not heard any mention of the dog. I believe Nancy has a dog. If the back door was in fact wide open, I wonder if the dog was still in the house when family members came to search for Nancy. I wonder this more out of curiosity than relevance. If the family came to the house, and the dog was gone, but leash was still there, that would cause initial concern.

I don't know if this SIL theory has any merit but does explain the family not calling LE immediately upon arrival. I do think if it is SIL that Annie had to be involved. Awful to think about but she knows if he was home all night.

IAttended a safety seminar years back. The 'expert' suggested especially for women living alone: buy the LARGEST dog bowl you can find and put it out front & back your door. Burglars do NOT like dealing with dogs! Works for me

My sister (who lives alone) got some size 14 work boots and running shoes from Goodwill and leaves them outside her door. Gives the impression that a burly man lives there.

I don't live alone, but when someone knocks on the door when I am alone, I shout, "TOM! Someone is at the door!" to give the impression a man is in the house. I also have done that outdoors when I felt like a creep was creeping me - I shouted and waved to nobody in the distance, "TOM! I'm here - I'll be right there!" or something like that - use a big voice even it you feel like a fool.

Disclosure: Tom is my cat's name.

I had forgotten that nugget, I think it was from a banned source at the time but now it seems like it could be accurate information. The excuse that he went back to check on her is both weak and implicates him.

LE must have a reason not to have arrested him already if that's really his story, because it's a painfully rubbish tale.

Do they think he has her alive somewhere and are hoping to follow him to where she is?

one possibility here is that AB is accurately relaying something SG said to her, but SG is incorrect in her belief. SG is going to know a lot more than we do, but she's also not a detective and emotionally very involved here.
