What is the card which has been posted in the doorframe in the photo in this article?
This is very intriguing. Does anyone know about how this works? Would an APS caseworker be brought along to a call about a missing elderly person, automatically?

In my mind, MOO, I could imagine a scenario where a caseworker paid a call stemming from a report to APS about a possible case of elder abuse. Finding no one home, they leave their card just in case. Or if the person denies them a meeting, they leave their card, again, just in case.

I’m guessing, IMO, the card was left behind after the police released the home back to the family, in case someone wanted to report something. But if the police and FBI are on the case, it’s gone well beyond APS.

Curious about this, if anyone has any insight.

Because they are going through a hard time. Because the media is invading their lives. Because they want privacy. Because they haven't been named as suspects. Would YOU want to be dealing with all this during the worst time of your life?
I guess we don't know how we would react. I honestly wouldn't see a purpose in hiding my face unless I was feeling shame or guilt.

6:55 AM PT -- No suspects have been identified in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday morning.

The department tells TMZ ... "We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results."

They add, "We are not confirming the car being seized, we are unsure where that reporter is getting that information

The desperate search for “TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother stretched into its fourth day Wednesday as local and federal authorities continue to investigate her possible abduction.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing Sunday afternoon from her home outside Tucson, Arizona, after she did not show up at church, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News. She was last seen around 9:45 p.m. the previous day, when family members dropped her off at home.

The sheriff’s department believes Guthrie was taken “possibly in the middle of the night, and that includes possible kidnapping or abduction.” The FBI is now involved in the investigation, which also includes about 100 detectives from the sheriff’s office. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he would commit to sending more federal agents to assist...

If it was them they probably didn’t realize that the church would call for a welfare check so quickly and they counted on it being more time before anyone knew that she was missing. Maybe they were going to go back to remove evidence? If they got to the house first they would have staged it.

With all due respect, we do not know how we would handle things if we were in the families shoes. We can say that we would react a certain way but until we are in that very same position then we truly do not know.

Fear, grief, sadness, papparazi attention and now the finger of being implicated makes one act in ways we may not understand.

For all we know, LE has told everyone to keep a low profile, avoid speaking to the media and that could very well be what they are doing.
where were they going? Unless important why would they leave. Anything you need can be delivered. Were they going to stay elsewhere?

personally, i don't find it strange at all to not want to be photographed but vulture paparazzi while your mother is missing and in danger.
especially with unconfirmed reports going around that YOU are the suspect. if they're completely innocent you'd very much expect them to hide from the press.

the behavior tells us nothing one way or the other.

I honestly have no clue. I didn't realize she was even scheduled to go until this case. I've never perceived SG as a controversial person but I also don't really keep up with famous people. I just keep trying to figure out why NG and if it's any way connected to SG's fame
I’d consider her controversial since she makes her political views very well known.

So they haven't been named as suspects but you have the press hounding them. Imagine how you feel if you hypothetically hadn't done anything but you are going the worst time of your life and the press keeps hounding you. Getting into your face. Stalking your house. A lot of families of victims have had nothing to do with the crime and get hounded by the media and press and trying to get them to say something, get a reaction, get them to do something. They have jobs-one works with kids. Exactly how do you think it's going to be with their job to find out that they are plastered all over the media? NOT as a suspect mind you Think about it.

Per this NY Post article the NY Times is reporting that SIL was last to see NG. BBM:

"Savannah’s sibling attempted to cover her face with a pink hoodie while leaving the couple’s Tucson, Ariz., residence.
Annie’s husband similarly pulled his sweatshirt up over his nose and sported a pair of sunglasses.
The duo’s outing marked the first time Nancy’s family members have been spotted since she became the subject of a missing persons investigation.
Cioni was the last person to see Nancy — despite previous reports it was Annie — as he was the one to drop his mother-in-law off at her house around 9:30 p.m. Saturday after dinner, according to the New York Times."

oh this helps a lot...I have to trust that PageSix is quoting the NYT property. BUT it still does not say HE WENT BACK to check on Nancy.
Does anyone, who has access to the NYT, see that they say that, or do not say that?? tia

if the story is true, and SG is leaking it through AB, i hope they both realize that's bad for the investigation, and ultimately bad for NG.
I don't believe SG is leaking through AB. And I don't get the sense that they are great friends. AB mentioned attending charity events with her and working with her at Court TV back in the day. I think they are friend-LY for sure and AB appears to have great affection for her.

Someone who didn't plan to kill. It escalated. Or someone who is not too bright and wasn't thinking clearly. Really don't understand your SMH.

SMH (shaking my head)
at the perp who would be so stupid to carry his/her phone while commiting a crime.

It would be like leaving crumbs for LE leading to the crime scene.

JMO ;)

only controversial if people make it that way-and sadly people make it that way.

Guys we can't sleuth the SIL unless Law Enforcement publicly label him a suspect.

my only explanation for that is maybe they had tried to drug her at dinner so she would pass out and they could remove her withou her being aware of who it was.
only it didnt work so she was still awake when they came back to abduct her and thus there was a struggle and things became unplanned at that point.

the fact that SIL is still out and about with annie leads me to believe this is all just a rumor from recovering the car for routine forensics
Or they don’t have enough evidence, plus LE isn’t going to confirm information until they are ready to make an arrest. MOO

Well, Banfield had broken her story claiming SIL "may be" a suspect according to an inside LE source, so I can understand why they are covering their faces from the DM cameras, especially if social media is running rampant with speculation and accusations and I can't see why it wouldn't be. They will probably end up with stalkers and threats despite LE formally countering these claims today. Jmo
you get it. They may or may not be innocent but if they are, people are going to assume they are not and run with it.

If they weren't hiding their faces we'd probably all be on here picking them apart wondering what the heck's wrong with them for not displaying shame lol 🤣

Another cruel hoax like, potentially, the ransom-note sender? IDK.

A social worker responding to a call made awhile ago the worker is required to leave the card??

Yes... i keep thinking the same...
but upon more pondering... if SG actually believes it to be true.. perhaps the decision is to make it known more quickly rather than dragging it out...to try and get "suspects to come forth"
Both SG and AB are in fact, journalists, so maybe they know that if it is kept quiet...... it could take courts forever to get this out in the open.....
especially, if no body is found.
right?
Well, I know I am pushing one narrative, even though I am hoping that the SIL speculation IS A FALSE narrative.
Just don't want this to be the case.......

moooo moooo
Maybe, if they are friends, he just reached out to her and they talked.
