Were there ring cameras on the other doors in the house ?
Wondering because it's not a huge residence but a large one and I'd assume multiple doors (front, back, patio door, etc.,).
Did anyone enter a different door later in the night and there's no way to ascertain if it was a family member or not ?

I'm still leaning towards a staff or someone connected or someone friends/related to a neighbor who knew she was alone.

The idea of a kidnapping in this day and age seems so odd as any transaction can be monitored.
Where would the abductor pick up the money or even if having it "paypal'd" or wired to a bank, it's not like the feds won't be on to you !
Ridiculous to whomever did this.

The blood evidence doesn't seem like she went willingly.

They are covering their faces like they have something to hide, this is not normal behaviour for grieving family members IMO.
Very strange to me.

I just noticed the SIL eyes, look very closely. That’s a strange look.

It’s weird that they are covering their faces but it could be they want the privacy.

especially with unconfirmed reports going around that YOU are the suspect. if they're completely innocent you'd very much expect them to hide from the press.

They are free to do whatever they want, but I can picture myself not wanting to be out in public at all, especially today when rumors are spreading about TC. Maybe they're going to the airport for all we know.

Oftentimes folks will buy a new home and have their other property listed immediately so they don't incur two mortgages simultaneously (if that's their financial situation). Who knows when those listings were actually updated/published...

Anyone have a photo of Annie's car that FBI towed and impounded or know what year and model it is? Most vehicles built after 2015 have navigation/GPS system built in and LE can use that to track the cars route -- even if the person driving wasn't using navigation.

I have been thinking for a day or so that this was a male family member. NG is just so low risk for stranger abduction given her age, mobility, how nice and remote her house is and with security cameras, etc

Statistically, I agree with you in regards that it was likely somebody she knew and that somebody is also likely male.

As for a stranger abduction....

In regards to age, mobility, security cameras at the house etc, I think all of these are valid observations. But.... the fact that she is the mother of a high visibility and wealthy daughter trumps (politics not intended) the other valid considerations.

Rather, the totality could make her an attractive target for a stranger abduction tied to ransom:

- Close relative to the wealthy person, pretty isolated home, elderly woman- less likely to resist and easier to over power, lives alone, set routine that leads to her likely being home after a given time etc

Its just that ransom driven abductions are, thankfully, extremely rare in the US.

Possibly. I am wondering why there are numerous blood drops at the front door. If she had a bloody nose and they moved her to a car, only a couple to a few drops would be visible. Why are there many drops directly the front door?

I tend to believe that she was assaulted (or sadly possibly killed) in the home and carried to the car.

It may not mean anything. I wouldn't want my picture all over the Daily Mail if I was grieving and out of my mind due to my mother missing.

I think a perp would actually take much more time, if they really knew the layout and interior of where they were.

Secondly, I think it’s despicable what is being said on this thread about Nancy’s son in law. I think it is honestly victim bashing and blaming someone who thoroughly loves his mother in law and has been left devastated. Of course they are looking at the closest male. In this case he’s a quirky, sensitive academic who might well play mahjong with his mother in law on a regular basis and may cook her lovely dinners regularly too.
In my opinion, he’s a wonderful son in law. Europeans take care of their own in many cases and cherish their elderly a lot more than some other cultures who want them out of sight/ mind.
Whoever said he will be deported should remove their nasty post. He’s very obviously a contributing member of our society. I have the greatest respect for teachers and this one is intelligent enough to teach advanced placement biology classes. He is a gifted, kind person from what I’m reading.

If cartel members are gonna kidnap-extort someone for money in the US, they almost always will kidnap another wealthy cartel family member. Mainly because they know that they won't call the police. Usually in these cases, they keep their victims alive.

Kidnappiing for ransom without killing the victim is an extremely rare crime in the US due to our strict laws against kidnapping.

This is very intriguing. Does anyone know about how this works? Would an APS caseworker be brought along to a call about a missing elderly person, automatically?

In my mind, MOO, I could imagine a scenario where a caseworker paid a call stemming from a report to APS about a possible case of elder abuse. Finding no one home, they leave their card just in case. Or if the person denies them a meeting, they leave their card, again, just in case.

I’m guessing, IMO, the card was left behind after the police released the home back to the family, in case someone wanted to report something. But if the police and FBI are on the case, it’s gone well beyond APS.

Curious about this, if anyone has any insight.

Maybe the card was left for anyone to contact them with information or questions regarding NG or their own family member?

The blood makes me think it wasn’t the BIL. If the BIL needed to get her in the car, even in the middle of the night, it would be very easy for him to come over and make up some frantic story like his wife was at the hospital and wanted her mom there or something. I feel like she’d have went willingly if it were him.
