AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone.
Please DO NOT make horrible accusations about people without a mainstream media link.
You can't say "I heard so and so is an ax murderer living under a pile of wood" without a link. Believe that line is not far off from some of the things I have read.
You can't post "I can't confirm in, but this guy has been a drug addict for years."
I am on my laptop. When I scroll down and look to the right, I see "Community Rules." Not sure how it shows up on your device. Please review those rules and help us keep Websleuths free of wild accusations.
Thanks.

Normally we don't allow random TikTok accounts we will allow this TikTok video. Not all of their videos but this one is fine.
Thanks, @tricia ... these are very helpful items from this former CSI specialist.
I suggest anyone questioning the blood drops or the towed car to watch.

Yes daughter’s home for dinner and then played a game, can’t remember the name of it though, but it’s pretty popular right now.
the details seem to be changing all the time. I thought the dinner was at a restaurant, but later reports say at the daughter's home 🤷‍♀️ I think the game was Mah Jong?

Given how much blood was by the front door, doesn’t that make the delayed 911 call more suspicious? I’m just trying to imagine going to my mom’s house after she missed a regular activity, finding her gone and seeing blood outside her front door and doing anything beyond calling my local siblings and then 911. Maybe I take 10 minutes to call close friends to see if someone helped her get to a hospital. I think my immediate suspicion would be a head injury and then wandering off, so time would be of the essence. I’d rather be embarrassed at rushing to call for help if she innocently turned up than waste precious time.

oh this helps a lot...I have to trust that PageSix is quoting the NYT property. BUT it still does not say HE WENT BACK to check on Nancy.
Does anyone, who has access to the NYT, see that they say that, or do not say that?? tia

was the last person to see Nancy — despite previous reports it was Annie — as he was the one to drop his mother-in-law off at her house around 9:30 p.m
Today the New York Times reported this:

"Ms. Guthrie was last seen Saturday around 9:45 p.m., when her son-in-law dropped her off at her home in the Catalina Foothills, a quiet, wealthy neighborhood near the Santa Catalina Mountains just north of Tucson."

SIL sister in law, BIL brother in law however I've read here a more then 1 post that some are confusing this.
edit to add SIL could also mean son in law I guess.
regarding NG, SIL would be son in law, the husband of her daughter

Typically those receive deletes not an entire thread shut down

But "clean-ups" do shut it down. Even a while, in such a fast moving thread/case is a hardship!!!

Agreed.
And the missing ring doorbell cam(sorry if it's a different type of security cam. it may have been discussed and I missed it ?), would've sent me panicking asap !!
Imo.

Got it. Annie is the sister of Savannah, daughter of Nancy. Italian guy is the BIL of Savanah and Son in Law of Nancy.

the getaway car might have been in the driveway close to the house and that's why the blood trail stopped
Yes and no street lights and driveway away from main road. If perp was a frequent visitor to the house, which I believe is the case, they would have no problem turning off headlight and pulling up near house without (they assumed) the camera getting a good shot of the vehicle. Also its possible the camera didn’t capture the driveway, and the perp knew this. They then proceeded to the back door where they knew there was no camera or camera disabled already and entered that way. Before exiting the house through the front door w a possibly already injured NG, they smashed the front door camera, from an angle that wouldn’t show them, then walked to the car w NG being carried, and drove off.

All speculation and all just MOO

Good, thanks.
But it still never says :HE WENT BACK to check on her".
I just find this statement very incriminating, and if it has never been stated as fact, we should not state it either.

and the 9:30p timeframe is only known because that is the time that HE gave for the drop off. Is there any confirmation that this timeline is correct?

Agree! From what I read at first, it seemed as though NG had gone to a celebration dinner and then playing mah jong.

Mah jong is usually played in groups of four, and there are usually women who get together to play in larger groups. Generally, it’s analogous to a man’s “poker night”. I know it’s not a hard and fast rule, but I’ve never known a man to play mah jong; always women. This led me to assume that maybe Nancy and her daughter were part of a group that played regularly.

Sorry for being long-winded. I wonder what time that was, and who else was there. I’d consider those accounts as more reliable than the daughter and husband, MOO.

Imo it's possible the front door scene was not immediately discovered by family. When I visit my own mother, I never go in the front door. I go to the side door into the family room, and you can't see the ground at the front doorstep from there. If she was gone, I'd be more focused initially on looking inside the whole house, and then out back. The front formal entry wouldn't be high on my list of places mom might have gotten into trouble. Jmo.

Emphasis mine.
Agreed, all good points !

Maybe there are security cameras at Annie’s home? That would show when they left and if any other trips were made etc. if they have cameras, I would hope they were working.

Also 9:30PM is a late time for an 84 year old woman to be out and about.
