Secluded location and intense scrutiny put pressure on investigators in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance
It has been reported that she still drive and I believe drives to church. I think the service started at 11am and after about 10 minutes with her not showing up her friends made the callWas NG still driving at 84? Signs point to no. 1. It's reported that she had limited mobility. 2. Annie and/or TC transported her to and from mahjong the night before. She's reported as unable to locate to the fam by a church friend after 11:00 a.m. for not showing up to church. So then who was it that was supposed to give her a ride to the church service? Service was prob around 9, 9:30 or 10:00. You would think whoever it was, they should have reported her unable to locate earlier than 11.
Depends what kind of physical evidence recovery and digital data extraction they are performing. Could be a while. I'm not even positive they have the car as I have not seen a single photo of the car being impounded by the FBI. There were reporters in their area all day yesterday.Does anyone know how long it might take to process the car that was supposedly towed? I’m curious if they would have any results back by today or tomorrow.
Absolutely. My 84 year old mother ONLY drives during daylight. No exceptions. That's true. But as others here have noted, it's possible that she normally drove herself to church because that was during the day, but avoided driving at night.

Im not going to pretend to know her motives, but this is a big story. The video she made has over 1 million views in a dayVery true, but maybe wants her moment in the spotlight for fame?
True, we’ve been seeing pictures of the family, but not the car.Depends what kind of physical evidence recovery and digital data extraction they are performing. Could be a while. I'm not even positive they have the car as I have not seen a single photo of the car being impounded by the FBI. There were reporters in their area all day yesterday.
Much earlier in the thread there was discussion of the lighting requirements in Tucson because of nearby observatories. As I remember the discussion, upward lights are not allowed. The roads are so dark that traffic does not necessarily trigger cameras at the roadside, or if images are captured are so dark as to be of little use. That headlights might trigger a photo, but not capture anything of value. Also, it was pointed out the moon was full Saturday night and people could have driven the empty streets without using headlights. All this is from memory, so grain of salt.IMO I would think that in this area and neighborhood anything out of place would have been recognized right away. If the only vehicles that have been around belonged to a family member, that can be telling. IMO
Thanks for posting. From the article (new to me: Three ransom notes sent)Secluded location and intense scrutiny put pressure on investigators in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance
Yes you would think they would notice the door but blood would be more alarming and the two things together would be terrifying. But IF the perps were the same people who called 911 (not accusing at all but its a possibility) none of that would matterI thought i read the backdoor was broken like in forced entry? Not sure but if they didn't go through the front door but through the back door then surely they would have noticed such a thing?
did they really tow her sister's vehicle ?
Not directed towards those I've quoted; but to everyone here in the discussion :We have not had more organizations pick this up, and it should be possible to verify that their car is impounded. I would think, for a journalist, this would be easy to verify. Journalists have been posted outside their home since hour 1 of this story, there should be images of their car, the tow truck etc... Where are they ?
Maybe its true, where is the evidence ?
I hate having my photo taken anyway but if I am grieving my missing Mom or supporting my spouse you better not be taking pics of me and my family. Disgusting behavior. On the other hand, I would be so royally pissed off if my mother was missing and people were trying to get paparazzi shots that I'd absolutely be covering my face and probably lashing out on top of that.
I do think someone in the family is involved, but that doesn't mean everyone is. What an awful time for those who truly didn't have anything to do with it.
Thinking of the family and hoping I'm wrong about an inside actor. The situation is bad enough without that element.
MOO
Isn't that a strange 3 outlets to send a ransom note too, why TMZ and only 2 local CNN affiliates? If this were connected to Savannah Guthrie wouldn't they send the note to NBC? Just curious about others thoughts on this. Thanks for posting. From the article (new to me: Three ransom notes sent)
The media also may have key evidence in the case. At least three different media outlets – TMZ and CNN Tucson affiliates KOLD and KGUN – report they received what appear to be ransom notes earlier this week demanding millions of dollars in bitcoin for Nancy Guthrie’s safe return. Those outlets say the notes also described specific evidence in Guthrie’s home.
I'm not so sure. I think that it can be beneficial to make a suspect nervous. That's how they make stupid mistakes and trip themselves up.Even If she is correct I doubt this would've been beneficial for the case. I dont see a universe where her announcing this would've been good for law enforcement and the investigation
Its possible they sent them to other outlets who never publicly shared that they received themIsn't that a strange 3 outlets to send a ransom note too, why TMZ and only 2 local CNN affiliates? If this were connected to Savannah Guthrie wouldn't they send the note to NBC? Just curious about others thoughts on this.
One of the reporters addressed the fact that most homes in that neighborhood have a lot of vegetation to the front and sides. Great from a privacy aspect, but impedes the street view of cameras.I’m surprised that we haven’t heard about a suspicious vehicle etc seen on neighbors security cameras etc. Seems like the type of neighborhood that would have plenty of cameras. I would have suspected to have heard about that within a few days. Perhaps authorities are still working on what vehicles seen on cameras have reasons to be in that area etc etc. I just really thought when the story first broke we’d have a make and model of vehicle very quickly. Not sure what to think at this point tbh. Only thing I can figure is that investigators know who owns the vehicles seen in the neighborhood and or have suspicion of someone close to the victim. moo
Yeah its all a bit strange to me.I can't even imagine why LE would like this, to be honest.
This. This right here. It's bad enough to deal with the horror of the situation but to have the media swarm in like vultures and trying to get pictures and break a story is just...disgusting to me. Having the media film your most vulnerable moments and not respect privacy isn't a good look for them.I hate having my photo taken anyway but if I am grieving my missing Mom or supporting my spouse you better not be taking pics of me and my family. Disgusting behavior.
