As someone watching from an East Coast city with possibly more people on my block than in that entire community, it looks rural to me. I'm fascinated by the landscape. Stunning. (But I realize it's a suburb - don't come at me.)

But, I am also fascinated by tonight's developments. What in the world happened with this case?

Re the follow-up at NG's house.... maybe they have a lead about a financial motive and are now looking for documents, whereas before they were just doing the usual crime scene (fingerprints, DNA, etc) investigation. Just a thought.

The blood may not be hers but rather belongs to whoever broke in and did whatever they did.

DNA results are probably back by now. Could this be what has revved everything up?

Question : about a car being removed... I keep thinking the reporters are at Nancy's house only, so if a car was towed from another location, & if reporters aren't there -- that would be the reason why there's no footage/photos of it happening, correct ?

I mentioned this upthread, but please remember that this is a suburban neighborhood even though it might feel rural in setting. With acre-sized lots, ths area isn't as densely populated as the city of Tucson, but there are streets, and cohesive neighborhoods, and houses every acre or so. There's a mall and restaurants close by. Tucson is very sprawly in nature, particularly with neighborhoods of this vintage. The Catalina Foothills isn't what would be considered "rural" and low-population by local urban-planning standards.

Yes, wonder how many cell towers there are in that area given the large lots.

No idea why they released the house back to the family already, does not look good for LE and now anything they find will be compromised.

do we have any verified LE/detectives/investigators here who can shed some light on this? i know every scene is different and there's no 'standard' amount of time to release a scene but i'd love a professional's opinion. If you have not located the victim it just doesn't make a whole of sense to me to release it.

It actually happens all the time. I can think of two recent cases where family members continued to live in bloody crime scenes, and CSI teams had to return multiple times during that period (it made no difference in the end).

Here it looks like the search is located outside the house, which isn't as bad.
