I agree, I was surprised the sheriff conceded the detected person could have just been an animal.
Maybe just trying to head off follow up questions from a reporter "Well could it have been an animal?"

It doesn't sound like the family is getting a ton of information from LE?

They are taking it seriously. Any action taken on the ransom is decided by the family.

FBI is directly talking to "imposters trying to take advantage of this situation."

They've already arrested one person for fake ransom demands.

Translation: They don't think this is a "kidnapping" scenario.

JMO.

They said they are treating the ransom requests serious, as is protocol

Camera company has run out of ways to recover the video. :(

Maybe just trying to head off follow up questions from a reporter "Well could it have been an animal?"
bizarre, because you should not say "person" if you don't know. You should say "movement."

Question: What does "pacemaker app disconnects from phone" mean? I mean, I know what it means... but I'm trying to understand why it would do that. Thx.
IMO, all it means is her pacemaker was no longer within range of her phone for the app to pick up the signal. So likely the time she was taken from the home. Again IMO.

Ransoms sound fake. Of course. Sounds like multiple unconnected actors.

Not confirming or denying forced entry, smash cameras. -- seems a yes, IMO.

Said vehicle taken as part of regular investigation? But the daughter's? -- hmm, maybe.

Ubered 10 mins to family? Why? Couldn't someone have picked her up? Did she Uber home? Not mentioned. Did an Uber driver do this?

Didn't mention a single word of how the family was notified or that she didn't make it to church.

Something tells me they ARE looking at someone, potentially family. Maybe TC maybe not...MOO

Why go in through the garage instead of the front door? She was dropped off, so she didn't drive.
Maybe I missed something in these 200+ pages.
IMO.
Depends on your layout. I always preferred to go in through the garage as it's brighter in there than fumbling on my porch in a dim light. Also, we have wild animals, and one never knows if there's a weirdo around, so I prefer to protect myself by entering through my garage and quickly closing the door. I suspect that's the case with Nancy but that's JMO.

it said person.....? Animals look like animals on the cameras.
My camera once told me (in the middle of the night, thus terrifying me) that there was a person in my back garden when it was just a sunflower (that had been there for a while) so the cameras can be really inaccurate at times

I don't understand how there is no footage of a person. WTF

bizarre, because you should not say "person" if you don't know. You should say "movement."
I believe Nest notifications do say "person" though, so if it said that, the Sheriff is likely relaying exactly what it said.

There is information they are withholding he basically said in response to a reporters question about that.

Absolutely. I think we have seen a few cases where elderly people are targeted by home invaders or someone who knows them.
The vultures are everywhere.
