Not ruling anyone out....

I don't understand how there is no footage of a person. WTF
because N didn't have a subscription and the recording only lasts about three hours (according to post upthread) and then overwrites itself.

I agree, I was surprised the sheriff conceded the detected person could have just been an animal.
I think he meant that more in a general sense, As in there is no video so it could be anything. I think If you actually look at the timeline its much more likely that it was someone that was involved with her disappearance when you look at how closely in time that her pacemaker disconnects from her phone. My camera once told me (in the middle of the night, thus terrifying me) that there was a person in my back garden when it was just a sunflower (that had been there for a while) so the cameras can be really inaccurate at times
My guess is that he should have said "movement," then. You're not wrong....maybe its' because mine will say "animal" and I look and 9 times out of 10 it's the stray cats coming to the windows to annoy one of my cats. You're right though, I'm guessing not all cameras and apps are going to work the same way.

I wish someone would ask if there has any response since the family spoke last night.
You mean from the author of the note? They said there has been no proof of life

Can’t watch right now. But my question is, is this THE ransom sender, or a second one?

So the family called 911 within 5 minutes instead of an hour like previously thought. It is certainly reassuring that they saw quickly that something was wrong and called law enforcement. Yes, 5 minutes is still a long time, but between the shock/denial and scrambling around looking for her, that is reasonable, IMO.

I wonder if family found a ransom note at that time and panic'd between themselves on whether to call authorities. I suppose everything will come out in due time.

JMO.
5 mins is really a short amount of time IMO

I am wondering if the intruder got in thru the open garage door when NG returned home from dinner. Laid in wait in garage for her to go to bed, and then crept into the house after she was settled for the night. Just speculation

Have not recovered the camera.

This. Took an Uber to her daughter. I would never let my semi-immobile 84 YO mother take an uber when I could go get her.

I don't understand this comment. Nancy Guthrie, assuming she's still alive, is an adult who lives alone, drives and is of very sound mind. I don't think it's up to her daughter to "let" her do anything.

That’s the way a nest camera logs events. I pay for the service and have cut off my personal videos.

They won't go into what the family has or haven't received, re proof of life, ransom note.

So we don't know

I can see her taking an Uber instead of being picked up to keep independence or feel like less of a burden - not wanting to interrupt dinner preparations perhaps. But family driving home to see you home safe at night or to save money also seems normal to me. And maybe the entry through the garage feels safer for someone with a cane - no steps, or handrails if there are, maybe. This feels even more like it points away from family. Besides, family knew she was on blood thinners - it seems like a fatal injury from a slip and fall that looked like an accident would be way less suspicious than all of this drama of a missing person, which is part of why this seems like a stranger based incident to me. My opinion only of course.

Not going into specifics into investigation regarding ransom notes deadlines...

5:32pm- Nancy goes to dinner (takes an Uber)
9:48pm- Garage door opens indicating drop off
9:50pm- Garage door closes
1:47AM- Doorbell cam goes offline
2:12AM Person Detected, no video because no subscription
2:28AM Pacemaker disconnects
11:56AM Family checks on her
12:03PM 911 Call

Perp was there at least 50 minutes...
just a small correction, i believe at 2:12 it was some type of movement detected but don't know if it was necessarily a person. Someone asked if it could've been an animal and Nanos said it very well could've been

The random note spoke about the ransom, the apple watch, and a flood light.

Have not recovered the camera.
At this point, recovering the camera likely wouldn’t give them any info if the data is stored (or not, in this case) in the cloud, right?
