The perp has to be really, really dumb to think he could get away with such an abduction and demands. Every police, sheriff, FBI, state is looking for her, and, assuming the perp is identified (per ransom), there's just no way.
Yeah, I know. The whole thing makes no sense to me whatsoever!

That's what I've thought since the beginning. I just wish we knew more about how the scene looked (ransacking, signs of cleaning, etc).
Then would the blood droplets at the front door be possible?

She would need to be carried. No footprints in the blood. So one strong man threw her over his shoulder and let the still bleeding NG drip behind him?

Just trying to wrap my head around this. I was thinking a still bleeding NG meant she left alive.

Make it make sense.

Why take her at all? If this was a robbery, they could have just locked her in a room while they were committing a crime, then left. Her disappearing is what is puzzling...
Because something went wrong during the robbery. She fought back. She didn't agree to do what they wanted (go to am ATM to withdraw money? Transfer crypto to them?) If she died, they wouldn't want to steal something in the house that would make it easier for them to get caught with later. She may not have anything of significant value in her home.

Two new things which make me think:
- emphasizing "grandma" sounds to me like they're making her relatable and vulnerable to someone very young.
- mentioning the uber driver and specifically having her get an uber to the party and getting driven back. Long shot, but at the moment that's all we have: driver gets here to the party and is in the area, kind of expecting her to get an uber back. Doesn't happen for a long time. TIps someone off to an empty house on a Saturday night. Turns out house isn't empty halfway through "the job"

New info on blood found at the scene and Nancy Guthrie's Pacemaker, from a law enforcement source

The Pacemaker last synced with her Apple devices around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to the source. Her Apple watch was still on the charger. Phone left at home

As for the blood, according to the source, a light trail was seen outside. It was described as a "drip" — more like a bloody nose than substantial bleeding. The trail ended where the walkway from her door meets the driveway.

One more thing -- I'm told that the cancellation of the search and rescue does NOT mean authorities think she's deceased

Found it... "watch was still on the charger." Tuesday morning. I'm not sure about the twitter links because I don't do X. Anyone want to verify?

Isn’t Zoom like a call on Teams? Where you can see the names of whoever is attending and send messages back and forth? This is getting more bizarre.
Live streaming isn't like zoom. Its' more like a Youtube live video. You would only see participants if chat was turned on.

The person who did this knew the house and knew where the cameras and technology were. He was in the house for about 40 minutes, which is a lot.

And I'm kind of replying to myself, but see how much fodder the Uber trip is stirring up, when it was probably irrelevant, which is why they GAVE it to us in the first place? How about who and whether anyone "from church" even notified family? I'm thinking more about what is missing from the timeline.

grandmother is over 10 years older than NG, and is extremely independent and lives alone, catching taxis, going shopping and out to social events regularly-with mobility issues similar to Nancy.
She would be horrified to hear you and others don’t think her capable of doing these things or that her family are neglecting her by allowing her to live how she wants.
Older people are not babies, they are quite often perfectly capable of making their own decisions.
I agree.
My grandmother was almost 10 years older than NG and drove herself everywhere, mowed her own lawn and even took care of her old 'home place' on her own.
She'd still be doing it too if she hadn't have passed away from pancreatic cancer.
She could work circles around me!
She would be very insulted to see everyone in this thread talking about how the octogenarians should be basically wrapped in bubble wrap and treated with kid gloves.

LE said the doorbell cam was “disconnected.” Could it have been removed from the entrance but then carried by the intruder, and if battery powered, continue to detect the motion for which they have no video at 2:12am?
I believe the sherriff clarified that it was a different camera

Yeah, it seems like that is the case. Again, if they knew her and her needing meds, they would have taken them with. She would have likely grabbed them or said she needed them. Unless there wasn’t any reason for her to be needing them anymore ☹️
Yes,curious with her meds, maybe they planned on getting her the meds she needed?or already had them?missing 2 days then a ransom and needs to be paid by 5pm tonight, so I believe she's still alive, praying

The good news is that if someone did enter through the garage (and therefore presumably had a remote or the code), police should know about that. We now know that they have precise times that the garage door was opened and closed when NG was dropped off. I'd think they'd also be able to confirm if the door had been opened or closed in the 1-4am timeframe.

The wording of "doorbell camera disconnects" is interesting - to me it sounds like someone accessing an app and "removing" a camera. If the doorbell camera was disconnected from an account, I don't think it would still send a notification to NG at 2:12 (assuming that her phone notifications are what allowed police to see that motion had been detected).

Does Nest allow you to have multiple user accounts connected to the same camera? i.e. did all the kids sign in to Nancy's Nest account from their own phones to view her cameras, or did they have their own accounts that allowed them access to the same cameras?

Asking because I see at least two possibilities here:
1. Someone with access to the Nest app "removed" the doorbell camera from the system, but, for whatever reason, Nancy's phone didn't sync OR the perp removed it from their own account/the account they had access to but not from Nancy's, meaning that it still alerted her to motion as usual (even though the footage was inaccessible due to time limitations)
2. The doorbell camera was truly deactivated when it was removed at 1:47 and the motion alert at 2:12 was a different indoor camera or motion sensor, possibly from a different brand. In that scenario, I'd think there would be many more motion alerts that police didn't reveal.

Overall, I'm really really hoping that the police do in fact have MUCH more information than they're letting on. If that is true, it gives me hope that NG is alive and LE is stepping carefully/biding their time to maximize the chances of bringing her back. The drawn out investigation and limited details despite extreme manpower gives me the impression that the Sheriff and his office may have been asked to divert attention while the FBI and ICAC move in relative silence to find NG.

MOO - I definitely don't think I or anyone outside of LE is working with a full deck of cards here

Strange that they had her take an Uber to their home
This sounds reasonable if she is comfortable with this mode of transport.

It could be as simple as the rest of the family was running late or could not pick her up for other reasons.

I would think she is not comfortable driving after dark. My aging eyes agree.

May I add one more bad math, however small?
11:56 am to 12:03 pm is 7 minutes.
That was when family arrived at N’s house and the called 911, correct?

How do we know they are her blood droplets

Blood doesn't answer that question one way or the other. If she was killed just before, then blood could still be exiting her body, especially if she was repositioned in order to carry her. She could have also been badly injured at that point, and carried, or slightly injured and walked on her own accord.

NG went in via the garage when she was driven home. door closed behind her.

garage door didn't open again so perps didn't sneak in through the garage.
I was referring specifically to how the idea of someone sneaking in through the garage reminds me of Jennifer Farber Dulos since someone had suggested it, NOT that I personally think that happened here.

Nah. The doorbell camera was removed from the wall and either it lost power when the wires (if present) were pulled out, or the battery was removed if it was on battery. They've said nothing that suggests anything as convoluted as going into the app and removing the camera. "Disconnects" is the normal way of saying a camera is no longer connected to the internet.
