Add "just because we want to see if we can pull it off"Remaining open to all plausible scenarios, even the least likely/most far-fetched, what are all the potential motives behind NG's disappearance?
Brainstorming:
What's missing from this list?
- SA
- Financial
- Kidnapping for Ransom
- Legal Jeopardy/Fear of Discovery
- Political
- Personal Grudge
- Robbery
What if anything on this list can be ruled out at this point?
*ETA: I think robbery can be ruled out, because if you're going to commit a robbery, why steal the person and leave all the possessions behind, but what do others think? Take it off, yea or nay?
Thank youDNA testing confirmed that. It was mentioned at the presser today.
Because Sheriff Nanos has stated earlier in the week that the son-in-law was the last person known to have seen Nancy Guthrie before she disappeared. Sheriff stated earlier that he drove Nancy back to her house. Can I ask? Why is the focus on A’s husband? Is this solely down to AB or is it something else?
SHE DOESN'T OWN THE DOG.At that hour, i don't see her coming to the door, or even hearing the door knock or bell
Does her dog bark?
Leaning still towards someone had access and that makes me sad
The cameras store video in the cloud. What is weird to me is the sheriff said the video was overridden and that Nancy or the family didn't have a subscription. A subscription is relatively cheap. I don't know if the cameras were programmed to stop recording after a particular time or what? Good question about a motion sensor, but there clearly was a place for a doorbell camera on the front door. Here are the puzzling things to me:
1) Why the circling helicopter with agents looking out the sides? Looking for a place someone was buried or something discarded by the perpetrator? That landscape would be very easy to spot disturbed soil on foot or in the air. Just to make it look like the sheriff's dept is doing something?
2) How could a broken camera detect someone after it was disabled? Could it be instead a motion sensor inside the house like we used to have?
My gut feeling is that LE has video of the vehicle involved from multiple neighbor's door cameras and that they are trying to trace the vehicle to where it wasn't seen anymore passing by and therefore get to the point of knowing about where the driver either parked or left onto highways. IMO, video cameras are the most important forensic tool to help guide LE for facts. I believe that takes a lot of time to canvass the area but that ultimately, LE will know the kind of vehicle (make and model) but probably not a license plate.
I want to believe that too, but I don’t think so anymore.Yes,curious with her meds, maybe they planned on getting her the meds she needed?or already had them?missing 2 days then a ransom and needs to be paid by 5pm tonight, so I believe she's still alive, praying
The perp has to be really, really dumb to think he could get away with such an abduction and demands. Every police, sheriff, FBI, state is looking for her, and, assuming the perp is identified (per ransom), there's just no way.
I think it's a combination of AB, his looks and interests (and behaviour?) and the fact he supposedly was the last one seeing NG(?) Maybe i'm completely off tho, idk. Just MOCan I ask? Why is the focus on A’s husband? Is this solely down to AB or is it something else?
Your grandmother sounds awesome! I don't think anyone is implying that NG is incapable of taking an Uber, but I can't think of many 84 year olds, especially women, who are comfortable doing that. Having said that, I can't see how her decision to do that has much to do with the case, other than looking at the Uber driver, which they've apparently done.My
grandmother is over 10 years older than NG, and is extremely independent and lives alone, catching taxis, going shopping and out to social events regularly-with mobility issues similar to Nancy.
She would be horrified to hear you and others don’t think her capable of doing these things or that her family are neglecting her by allowing her to live how she wants.
Older people are not babies, they are quite often perfectly capable of making their own decisions.
I think that they already sent proof of life, but that's being left out of these briefingsI’m in the same camp as you.
Totally possible. What was the other motion notification from, then, though? Especially if that camera was totally offline 20ish minutes after it was removed.Nah. The doorbell camera was removed from the wall and either it lost power when the wires (if present) were pulled out, or the battery was removed if it was on battery. They've said nothing that suggests anything as convoluted as going into the app and removing the camera. "Disconnects" is the normal way of saying a camera is no longer connected to the internet.
So sorry for all the health issues.I can see that in an apartment, but if somebody breaks in a window in a house, either you fight themselves off yourself, or run.At least with an alarm system , the police will be sent out to investigate.People often have inside cameras for elderly that live alone just to check on them and make sure they are ok. I know people who had a sudden stroke living at home alone and were lying on the floor. Minutes are critical for help at that point. My friend's father ended up passing away from that stroke. Another friend's mother had a major stroke at home but luckily her husband was also at home at the time and saved her life.
Did we ever find out/has it been determined whether anyone else besides AG and TC was at “game night?”
