Because they were having a party at their house? Busy setting up? Party already started and it felt rude to leave guests? They already had a glass of wine at their party? It was much easier to get her a ride from an Uber? SO many reasons and all of them would feel normal, to me.

News to me, what party? I heard dinner and a game, what did I miss?

Maybe they did. Maybe police and the family believed it was a hoax, maybe the particular identifying crime details were not included in it, so it was sent to TMZ with more detail.

One news report claimed LE/Savannah read a note on Monday night and it was Tuesday when TMZ received theirs.
I’ll work on getting a source/corroborating this so take it with a healthy grain of salt for now

If this was her first time reporting this tip to them then it was in poor taste to speak to the reporters about it IMO.

If she had told the reporters the tip, I’d agree. But it sounds like she just went over looking for LE, didn’t see them, and asked the reporters if they were around since she had a tip. She didn’t actually share any details with them.

FWIW there is a Guthrie Road and Guthrie Peak Drive in Pima Co....https://www.to.pima.gov/propertySearch/ It is a really common road and surname in the area. And some revocable trusts and businesses.

there seem to be many here commenting about NG probably not having serious assets. I happen to this she does ...no not because she had a great job but a few things. Her husband died while working as a mining engineer so assume that was a good paying job and there was insurance and other benefits. Over the years she may well have gotten good advice with the help of SG or other family and invested wisely. I think it is likely she could be the target of a robbery in that home too. At this point anything is on the table and as the days go I lose hope.

Yes, the part about opening at 9:48 and closing at 9:50 is curious…two whole minutes? (Or I guess it could’ve been just over a minute if it technically opened at 9:48:57 and closed at 9:50:01)

Yes, it jumped out at me. In a sea of very little clear info and lots of vagueness, they bust out this incredibly specific information not just about the opening but also the closing of a garage door. They also didn't choose to add that they believe she arrived home at that same time because her watch also placed her there, or any other sort of corroboration. They didn't say anything about the watch other than the pacemaker app disconnection and that's interesting because it is probably a treasure trove of data. I think LE have LOTS more info than they're letting on at the moment. They're playing daft.

I'm not yet willing to accept that the criminal part of the evening started at the time when the front door camera was disconnected at 01:47.

I keep wondering if this has more to do with Savannah Guthrie than her mom. Did Savannah have any stalkers? Was someone so obsessed with her that, in their deranged mind, they thought they could get to her (or get attention from her) by kidnapping her mom? I'm sure Savannah would be much more difficult to get close to due to security precautions from being in the public eye, but her mom, on the other hand, would be much easier to access. There have been plenty of pictures of them over the years showing their close relationship so if you were obsessed with Savannah, you would probably know that. Just trying to figure out why on earth this 84 year old woman was targeted. I probably have watched way too many Lifetime Original movies. LOL IMO

JMO, but the ransom note with verified bitcoin account info can only mean 2 things. Either it is a scammer completely unrelated to the disappearance trying to take advantage of the situation and get some free money into their bitcoin account. Or it is someone the family knows, who realizes there is a rich daughter worth millions and decided to kidnap NG to get that daughter to pay up. They may not have realized this would blow up nationally the way this has. Now they are scared and probably know they are being watched. Hence no further follow up on the ransom note.

Meh, it doesn’t have to be someone they knew. Her mother was widely known by her viewers, they had recently (October) done a segment in Tucson with her mother and sister, could be a stalker, could be a random person who got a bad idea. So it’s not that someone would have to realize Nancy had a rich daughter, but instead that Savannah had a beloved mother in Tucson named Nancy. From there it’s not hard to find her.

One thing that I feel is being overlooked is that she is living on her own and making her own decisions. They might have suggested it, and she turned it down. Maybe she felt having everything tapes was intrusive. Maybe she was old fashioned and didn't see the point. They can't make her do it.

If someone of her. friends from church called AG it was because she was not there at 10:45am which apparently was her usual service. There is a livestream but they would have no way of knowing if she was watching.. I believe she went routinely in persono and that the DM story is not factual.

I saw on CNN that the ransom letter had a specific information on the location of the apple watch that only the perpetrator would know. that seems to make it credible to me. Also the letter stated that you will have no way of contacting me. I am just wondering if they should just pay the ransom and hope for the best?

Good question. Perhaps she was coerced away from the house prior to an event to cause an irregular heartbeat?
