Yes, she is breathing rapidly. However I would probably be the same, having an anxious personality type and not being used to speaking to a camera.
Also likely exhausted and not sleeping which also affects breathing. I cannot imagine what any of the Guthrie siblings are going through and how it is affecting them physically as well as emotionally.

I have been reading this morning in a couple of different articles that one bandmate in particular has some criminal issues, but when I looked at the court records myself I couldn't find anything other than a traffic ticket. I just did a quick perusal not a thorough search so I could be off the mark. The outlets that I read the information in were not ones that I had ever heard of before other than, I think, Men's Health.
The article linked ( AZ - Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026 ) says it's from someone on the platform formerly known as twitter, I don't have an account there so didn't see the whole post. No dates were visible and generally no details.

The only motive for this that I can possibly rationalize is MONEY. I tend to think that the extortionist (s) are probably local because they are probably more interested in SG's wealth than the average celebrity-watcher and woo hoo, she has a vulnerable Mom we can snatch for which SG would probably pay anything to get her back. I doubt that Nancy has survived this ordeal. This is so sickening but this is the sicko society we have become. UGH.

It's so scary at night there, the streets are unlit, the houses are big and far apart. There's not much traffic. It'll be very difficult to find a body in the desert. I would be scared to live alone in such a big house and in such a place.
i would not be surprised to learn that family had been trying to get her to move to a smaller place less isolated. AS is often the case Mom did not want to leave the home.

This is a simple scenario AND the most likely.

Has the SIL actually done anything to make him a suspect besides exist and take her home?

I feel like I’m greatly missing something
I think the reasoning of suspicion is he is in the close circle of family and family members are always looked it first. Plus, he was one of the last people who saw her.

Other than that, IDK.

But AG and her family live close by. They moved near her. Problem solved!

The reason for suspicious is that we have a reckless podcaster out there who said she was told that the son-in-law was the prime suspect. Very careless thing to say, IMO. It reeks of wanting to "get the scoop".

yes what exactly has he done other than take his MIL home that night...which is a very normal thing to do

But I think that podcaster also stated LE first look at the inner circle and the person who last saw the victim. I wonder if she misinterpreted that as he IS the prime suspect when LE meant simply they look at the inner circle first.

I've read people say that it's the way he "looks!" Newsflash, everyone: the dude is Italian and this is the way men from Italy look.

I

i find it iinteresting those weren’t smashed. Perp only worried about the doorbell cam. So did the perp know she didn’t have a subscription?

That's my conclusion too. You would be seen somewhere sometime entering and would be recorded forever if a subscription, why smash unless you already know the video is stored in the camera itself with temporary storage and nowhere else.

I don't think a house cleaner, gardener, electrician or anyone like that would know there is no subscription.. that is why I am leaning to a family member.

Or just a “gentlemanly” thing to do - it’s dark, I’ll take her
To each his own... I would never let my hubby take my mom home without me going with. WHY? Because it's MY MOM! I won't elaborate further

catching up on post reading here and CrimeDawg said exactly what I am thinking. Both of these ladies have an extensive background in this type of crime and when Maureen said that I think she agrees with AB. AB in her show yesterday did not back away at all from her theory. I am going with this theory or maybe someone that knows TC.
I don't know what I think at this point. I was kind of willing to write off AB but when Maureen indicated some suspicion it gave me pause.

I do not understand how they communicated thus far and remained anonymous

Sending an anonymous email is not very difficult. And they only sent that one. That is the sum total of communication from them. It's very easy to send a single email that is difficult to trace (bounce it through multiple relays or proxies, potentially some in far away countries that don't cooperate, and/or through compromised computers around the world). It only requires one "hop" where either no logs at all are retained, or the operator of that system won't provide the data, for the trail to be lost.

I don't think that's entirely true, i'm sorry. There are many different layers of men in Italy, as there are in every other country.
Just as women don't like to be typecast, as goes for men 😅

PACEMAKER From the little I know about them they are linked to usually a phone and that is the case here. Also there are numbers that they connect to when something is not right. I have to assume that primary contact would be Annie. So it follows that at 2:28am she would have received a message or call when it went off line. I assume LE are looking at this but I would like to know more about this. Does this make sense to anyone?

People are giving too much attention to the fact he drove his MIL home after dinner and not the fact that the Italian guy was the designated driver for an evening dinner with wine. If something here is out of the ordinary it's this.
