Question: Early on, wasn't it reported that homicide was on the scene almost immediately?
Yes it was but 2 things regarding that…

First is that the information came from the Sheriff who has definitely not been clear with the information he conveys.

Second is that the Pima County Sheriff’s department has a Violent Crimes Division. Homicide falls under that division and it wouldn’t be far fetched for him to refer to the whole division as Homicide.

I think it was another unfortunate way the Sheriff has of conveying information rather than them actually thinking that early this was definitely a homicide.

I am so jaded, do we really have kidnappers and ransom in these days and times? Would they keep her somewhere this long? It doesn't look good for Nancy :(

The only time I can think of a kidnap victim being released/escaped was Elizabeth Smart and there was the other young woman can't remember her name (Jaycee??). I know there's other survivors of abduction out there that aren't so high profile but I have a feeling there is no kidnap situation here.

I hope I am wrong and a ransom is met and she's released but it seems so far fetched MOO
Jaycee Dugard is who you're thinking. Also Shawn Hornbeck and others. But those weren't ransom scenarios. All 3 were kept and SA'd throughout captivity and none were released by their captors.

Also, I'm guessing FBI have a full profile for the perp and likely wouldn't release it yet to spook someone.

Very curious their psychological profile of suspect(s).

Can someone clarify for me? Did I miss where it has been confirmed that nothing else was taken from the house? Or that it didn't seem ransacked? I know we haven't gotten a straight answer on DNA evidence in the house.

Exactly...so if they verified it, like they verified the Uber driver, why not include it in the timeline. Isn't it "harmless" then?
IMO they may be giving room or looking for players to change their stories or times or catch them in a lie. (i.e. someone from church supposedly called at 11:00...but it's not on the timeline.)

Sadly it's quite common along the border for small sums (50k etc.)

Many border towns on the US side (TX, AZ, NM) have US citizens kidnapped for ransom and brought into Mexico. You can google tons of articles that range from young women, to prominent town figures etc. The US Dept of State has an advisory on it.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned, but why send a ransom demand through TMZ ? Why not NBC, for instance, or FOX, CNN, Etc ? Isn’t TMZ more of a sensationalist news program ? Idk, I remember it being like that a while ago.
It is, which is exactly why they would immediately report on it. 🙃

Based on what I've read, at this point in time it seems to me - IMO - that a little group took Ms. G and thought by leaving those blood splashes, and the watch, the kidnappers thought SG would pay the ransom in Bitcoin. But SG chose not to pay the demanded-ransom. IMO No Way would the little kidnapper group engage in any ' communication' with SG. SG didn't pay and so little kidnapper group didn't get their payout. Little kidnapper group moves on to their next crime.

I said this yesterday, but I think the timeline given was only intended to show the comings/goings at the house, not everything known.

Notice they don't include details from the party.

They don't include things like when Nancy went to bed (likely known from Apple Watch and phone data of it being put down and not picked up again, etc) or more.

There's also no info on NG's movements that night in her home that cameras may have picked up. That doesn't mean she didn't do anything, IMO, it's just not what they were trying to provide info on I don't think.

Because she never left for church, and after the cameras were removed or destroyed, the only activity at the house they know of at the house after the pacemaker disconnected is when the family arrives, calls 911, and then PD arrives.

I mean, should we assume from the lack of inclusion on the timeline that LE doesn't know when they arrived at the home? Yet we know that happened also.

Just MO.

These are my thoughts exactly. The ransom note is “hey look over here, not….here” IMO
It’s a panic note sent by the actual perp in hopes of throwing LE in another direction and not an actual ransom note for ransom, b/c she likely died in those early morning hours :(

I think LE and the fam know this which is why they aren’t rushing to pay the ransom. They know a lot more than we do, and an arrest is likely imminent. JMO of course
Agree with all.
Hope you're proven right about your last part.

I wonder if AI apps like Chat GPT keep any kind of records of use. Based on Harvey Levin's analysis today, I had the thought that the perp may have used AI to construct the ransom letter. I also wonder is they used AI in planning the crime and if LE could determine that from the AI vendor. If I was one of these companies' leaders I would love to help solve this crime. I would also be very disappointed if the FBI is behind on using this tactic in the broader sense already.
ChatGPT free version will retain a history of searches if you don't delete. Would imagine pay version works the same except you're entitled to greater number of questions...but I could be wrong. Maybe someone here knows it much more in-depth...

Thank you!! Exactly, younger people used for SA sadly... I can't see this being an abduction/kidnap and ransom situation.

It doesn't fit the bill but I guess we can be surprised in the true crime world. Hoping for a miracle here.

They are not releasing that info. Nanos told Banfield they have removed items for rapid DNA testing but he wouldn't disclose what.

There is nothing to indicate her meds were taken with her.

Possible re-post, fwiw..

''Two California teens were arrested in an Arizona home invasion tied to an alleged $66 million cryptocurrency plot that happened the same day Nancy Guthrie was last seen before disappearing from her Tucson home about two hours away.

Authorities have not said if the two cases are connected in any way, but the cases do share some bizarre similarities.

The teens, who are not being identified by Fox News Digital because they are both under the age of 18, allegedly posed as delivery drivers to gain access to the Scottsdale home on Jan. 31, before forcing their way inside and duct-taping and assaulting two homeowners inside''.
What in the world? I didn’t hear anything about this.

They've been super close-lipped about the interior of the house! I don't think we can confirm really much of anything about the interior at this time. IMO

Not too familiar with cryptocurrency so someone please jump in.

If there is a "soft" and "hard" deadline in this ransom note. If I were FBI (i'm very far from it so please bear with me here) I would recommend that the family pay a small amount such as few thousand to the bitcoin address. Something insignificant to provoke the perp but also enough to show that i'm playing along with the perps scheme.

Maybe this will break the silence? The person demanding the bitcoin (related to her abduction or not) might slip up and try to make a withdrawal or make contact asking for more $? Which then hopefully FBI can get a better trace on the source of the ransom.

I've heard others comment about silence might mean they abandoned their plan but i'm leaning towards the ransom being very calculated ahead of time and being cautious of all the technology LE could use to trace them.

JMO

Sorry to reply to myself, and I don't know if this is allowed. Please delete and forgive me if not. But here is a comparison of the photo of NG's door on the left (sourced from Daily Mail) and a screenshot from Google's instructional video for installing Nest doorbells on the right. Seems pretty conclusive to me.

Yes, it's 100% a mounting bracket from a Nest cam (battery version). The photos clearly show it was not hardwired and separate from the existing doorbell. I've installed many Nest and Ring cameras.

My question is who had the Google app installed to operate and receive the alerts of motion and other notifications? Was it just Nancy or did the local sister also have it? The notifications and their time stamps would tell LE a lot of the timeline.

January 27th was my birthday, too. I'm 76.

ETA: I'm not posting but have been following along on the thread. It moves quickly, so I try my best to keep up :D
Happy birthday

I further cropped the pic you posted to make an observation (which likely has been brought up but there's no way I can keep up with the speed this thread is going).

My observation is this...

1) It's very "splattery" in this further cropped pic. I'm talking about the teeny-tiny splatters that look like speckles, not the larger drops:

2) The blood appears to start at that spot. IOW, I believe she was likely punched in the face and perhaps that might be from a nose bleed, and boy can noses bleed. I came to that conclusion because there isn't any visible blood on the step.

So she made it that far, then what happened to make her bleed? Also, those torn plants right there. Was she drug away and she tried to grab on to anything? Even if that's the case, why did those plants end up exactly where they are? It's not like they were inside the house and got drug out through the door. That would make sense of their placement but that's not the case here.

If she was hit in the face or head, and has mobility issues, she likely went down. Brick isn't forgiving. Thankfully there isn't a blood smear on that step cuz that could really cause a bad head injury.

So, if 'stuff went down' on her porch... why did it start there? Did the person ring her doorbell or knock on her door? Maybe saying something like "Fire department!" to get her to come to the door? I've tried Googling to see if there was a struggle inside the house and as I said... I just can't keep up with y'all!

And do we (i.e. - You all) know if she actually ever made it into the house after being "dropped off"?
I don't think she grabbed on to the plants as they are quite low to the ground. Plus how would they end up right at the door? They would have been scarttered on the porch.

It literally looks like someone came to door with flowers in their hand as a ruse.

They dropped the flowers when they grabbed Nancy. Note the direction of the blood.

All just MOO. It just looks that way. Not saying it happened that way. But that's how it looks.
