Per Sheriff Nanos 9:48 p.m. - Family drops Nancy off at home & garage door opens.

9:50 p.m. - Garage door closes.
Thank you! But is that the ONLY time during the day it opened/closed? If she left that way for the Uber, it would have had to have opened/closed then, too. Again, just a thought.

Hmm was NG car at AG/TC's? And did SIL drive her home in it? Followed by AG to ride back home with. Something's not adding up with the ride home story. OR did NG drive herself home??
Yes, and no clue where the phone in the car came from? First I’ve heard.

I don't think fingerprinting is really even used anymore with the advances of DNA. It's a pretty unreliable and outdated science.
Fingerprints are as unique as a DNA. They are still definitely used and still definitely not scientifically outdated.

There are still used in connection with DNA and yes they’re not automatically considered the gold standard as they used to be, but they are still useful and still very helpful

Her phone was in the car? I missed that
I may have misunderstood that as something said early in the investigation; if so, sorry, Folks. On the other hand, several other posters have confirmed they too heard NG's cell phone was in her car, early in the investigation; and later, news outlets were saying the phone was found at the home. So I don't think we have proof either way where her phone was actually located. It may be the local Sheriff let it slip the phone was in the car and when they realized that was important, had him drop that and let the news outlets report it "was found at the home". There are various reasons LE allows misperceptions and misdirections to persist during an investigation. Just my opinion, fwiw.

If the sheriff was just pulling a bumbling, "yeah we probably shouldn't have released it so early, that's Monday morning quarterbacking, I make mistakes, I'll probably make some more" act, he pulled that off well!
Still catching up… I wonder. If you release a scene, who do you (and everyone else) expect to be there that’s not immediately suspicious? The family. But what if someone you expect to be there does something suspicious? You could get that on camera…

That’s been my suspicion all along
Why bother with a ransom? That only seems to further complicate things and leave more evidence that could implicate them?

This is a link to the last press conference if you go to th 8.04 Mark the sheriff talks about taking the car in to be processed. So I think that was already done?

"Authorities said they are reviewing the home's security cameras and have Nancy Guthrie's cellphone."
From the article dated Monday, February 2, 2026, posted below.

Wow. Her own car is brand new, it surely has location tracking, they’ll definitely figure out if it was used in any way. And if it was, they can’t have gone that far to have made it back in the cover of night and put the car back. And I doubt they could’ve fled on foot without cameras catching them, even if they had an accomplice pick them up close by.

It would seem to point at someone close to her, but I still don’t see how they could’ve done something like this and hidden her for this long without LE catching on.

What is going on? ☹️
Unless the kidnapper followed the Suzanne Morphew case... apparently these systems can be disabled.

On Saturday night, Nancy's garage was opened at 9:48 p.m. and was shut at 9:50 p.m.

That is all we know as far as garage openings and closings thus far.

but don't you need your phone for uber? i would think she would have her phone with her when she left her house. my 87 year old mother always took her cell with her when she left the house!
Never having Ubered, I don't know. Perhaps since she had a mobility issue and at her age may have forgotten her phone on a drive when she needed it, she might have an extra phone for her personal security: a home phone, a car phone and one she may or may not have carried with her when she remembered?

Why bother with a ransom? That only seems to further complicate things and leave more evidence that could implicate themVzzthe ransomer is the same as the perpetrator
It’s entirely possible the ransomer is not the same person as the perpetrator. They could be completely unrelated.

Is it different beyond the receipt of a ransom that may or may not be legitimate? Asking legitimately…as you can see by my post history I am just as on the fence and perplexed as everyone else and change my opinion hourly
Maybe I just feel this was different because her daughter is a celebrity and it was presented as “she was taken”
I am perplexed too, even wondering if it could have been an accident? I hope we find out soon.

The posture of LE tonight suggests they know something new about the scene and it involves the car. They also know if that garage door was opened at another time, but they knew this days ago. Why now seize the car?
What are people thinking? (I am still hoping she is alive, but I do not believe this is the case, sadly.)

The garage door opened and closed, twice? Once (open and close) before midnight, to let her in after the ride home from dinner? Then again (so sorry, here) sometime around 3 am so that a murderer, driving her car, transported her lifeless body, somewhere?

This is horrific.

It doesn’t say where she’d be dropped off per your original post.

It’s in the article and if you are on live with Tricia right now she just mentioned it.

It’s obviously not a perfect science, of course- I just thought of it bc someone at work basically called me an old person for using two spaces. They made it seem like it was a stylistic choice when it was really just muscle memory…
When did they get rid of the two space after a period rule? Is it supposed to be more stylish to have only one space?

I may have misunderstood that as something said early in the investigation; if so, sorry, Folks.
Both @keek and I do remember seeing that though.

But why would blood be by the front door if she was moved with her car.
Could have taken her that way so there wasn't blood dripping through the house? who knows.
