I feel like the presidents comments that info coming out soon could be 'definitive", to me says she is dead....

I've been reading this with interest as a resident of Tucson for over 40 years living a few miles down Campbell and couple of blocks east. I'm not going to ask to be a verified insider because I moved away about 10 years ago and was never too familiar with the particular area NG lived in.

When I first heard about this case I kept thinking "Why does Savannah Guthrie sound so familiar?" then I realized it was not from her national role but rather I remember her from the TV news in Tucson in the 1990s. We also overlapped a little at the University of Arizona although I did not know her and it is very unlikely we had mutual friends.

To me this sounds like a true kidnapping for ransom because of SG's national celebrity. While this is rare in the US, it is relatively common south of the border. So my money is on cartels seeking nothing more than money. This could be a good thing for the eventual outcome because if they pay, a cartel may release NG just for street cred and future kidnappings.
Cartels would not have any interest in her. They could care less about an American celebrity with no ties to Mexico IMO

I think the Circle K and possible vehicle thing is a big deal. There are a lot of roads, a lot of gas stations on those roads, and a lot of cars driving by. For LE to go to a specific gas station and ask about a specific car (or even a specific make) suggests that they think they are onto something, IMHO. This is not like asking every gas station in the region about any car that might have passed by. It's asking one gas station about (presumably) one car.

Then again it's possible they did ask many other gas stations and it's just this Circle K that blabbed about it. But my gut tells me that this is an indicator of a development.
Maybe they got info from credit card companies?

He has no idea. I wouldn’t read too much into it. He’s not investigating

We don't know that they did. Entin only said the house appeared empty, but that doesn't mean it was. The officers also apparently went to a side door, which was likely strategic.

Indeed, it could be to notify them of something, or something else I suppose.

JMO.

Maybe this was mentioned earlier. Also apologize for spitballing...

Assuming that this ransom note author is connected to NG abduction. And is the same author of the second letter received via tip by KOLD tonight. IMO, the author of these letters loves the media attention and seeming like they are smarter than LE. But why KOLD specifically? Why pick to send a letter to TMZ, KGUN and KOLD. Then send a second letter solely to KOLD as a tip? Then maybe Harvey Levin of TMZ is correct to believe that this perp is local to Arizona.

Actually they do know she left that house alive. She left in an Uber.

The bigger question is - did she ever return?
I think we do know she was in her home later that evening -- based on her pacemaker connecting with her watch and/or phone until the middle of the night. MOO

This seems too amateurish for a cartel kidnapping for ransom. I could be wrong, but it's my impression that the cartels would've supplied proof of life, collected (some of) the money, and returned the kidnapping victim by now.

I think I read here early today that Circle K called in a tip about a car

who are they notifying at an empty house?
It may not be empty. What I've read is that the house appears empty. The sheriff's office is keeping tabs on the adults. If deputies went to the house for such a quick visit, it tells me a family member is there. If the sheriff went to investigate something, the visit would have been longer.

Someone posted photos of the Subaru from when it was being towed earlier. It looks like there’s some previous damage to the front end of the car.

You don't have to enter a home to say something to the homeowner.

And even if they weren't able to make contact, that's obviously what they were there to do.
I doubt it was to update them on the search. They could have done that by phone. I’d wager they are en route to whatever hotel AG and TC are located with a mainstream news update to follow.

interesting video by Brian Entin. I learned that there is a Light Pollution Ordinance so it is very dark at night. Sheriff Nanos made the decision to not use any lights and search at night near the home. Of course he could have used lights out there
did the sheriff really say he didn't bring lights during the investigation because of the dark sky ordinance!? We have dark sky ordinance where i live and i'm pretty sure that having flood lights at a CRIME SCENE would most certainly be allowed! (i'll add IMO since i don't know tuscon's specifically)

edit for typo
THAT WAS what Brian Entin's guest said....both could not believe it. Sheriff Nanos would never get my vote if lived in Tucson.

Cartels are highly organized, precise, and have zero interest in an elderly lady and her American tv host daughter. Somehow being 1.5 to 4 hours from the border (depending on where you’re going) makes people assume that Mexico and cartels and even those here without papers must be involved.

Solid possibility.

That does seem ridiculous given the circumstances.

Forensics don’t attend for an update. But on the flip side why did forensics attend for a few mins and leave

But isn’t everyone still technically a suspect at this point? Nobody has been ruled out from what I understand.

I’m just repeating what Tricia said but you are right. LE says everyone is considered a suspect.

Maybe we're overthinking it and it's as a simple as wasn't enough seats in the car. Dropped off a fellow officer then dipped.
