Unusual case, so more of my unusual thoughts dumped here: im looking inside the family dynamic here for this scenario. 1) How often was family game night or hang out? Was that a routine occurrence? Was it special occasion? I would look toward any details to suggest this was either 100% routine family pattern or something unusual. Why? If totally out of norm, could point to some sort of "stage setting" story line for a variety of reasons. 2) Let's say im a family member in the will. I cant wait 5-10 more years for you to die, I have urgent financial (Fargo) type needs now. I have already murdered you and I know you will be found at some later date after decomposition. That will line up with my story that you missed a deadline and I murdered her. Now, as the family member murderer, I never needed the bitcoin. I just need the life insurance and estate payday. The bitcoin address i gave i found online after researching unused but coin addresses and I never had any intention of collecting it. It was just part of a plot to throw everyone off and who cares if my rich sil put the amount in the bitcoin? Im getting an insurance and estate payday which could be a lot for an average American salaried worker. I imagine NG has a net worth of several million with her home and nest egg, life insurance amount could be upward of $1 million as well. To a desperate relative in a will could sound like a lot. Fargo mindset individual.
i don't understand where people are getting that NG was worth millions? yes her home was valued at a million... but it wasn't purchased at that....

Seems very weird. Either the sheriff is incompetent or deliberately misleading. We do know there was a no-confidence vote for the sheriff.

JMOO---How corrupt could this sheriff be? Could there be involvement? Just missing cameras, not processing the scene correctly, releasing the scene too early---seems to be oddly strange to me. Diliberately done? IDK Just throwing out theories.

Not corrupt, just inept. Hope evidence isn’t thrown out at court case.

As many white vans that are witnessed in crimes, you’d really think we’d have a lot less unsolved crimes in this country. Just look for the white van! 🤣

Eta: Yes i’m well aware it’s the most common vehicle known to man. Just a bit of levity
Oh gosh, they even taught us about watching out for white vans without windows in the 80’s… to this day i’m still weary!

I still don't believe it's a kidnapping for ransom and I still think it's people close to the victim. But if I'm wrong and it's a kidnapping, it's her only option to be alive. I still don't understand the situation with the church, because I read that she hasn't been going to church since Covid.

@missy1974 Thank you for the "phone in the car/home. I saw that this morning and I thought we had info that the phone was found in the home when they went in Sunday. I went back to page one looking and the MSM that was posted back then are updated so I couldn't find anything. So just to clarify, the phone was found on Sunday not last night correct?

Apropos of a number of posts saying they would "push the button" or some such to send the money, as if it's an easy decision: It is much easier for us here, with a theoretical missing loved one and theoretical millions, to say what we'd do, than it is for someone with a real missing loved one and real millions, getting advice from the FBI and weighing the dangers of giving bad guys a roadmap to free millions (if the ransom notes are hoaxes), to actually push that button.

Her apple watch would it know when she removed it to charge? Right
Like her heart rate graph and steps taken ?

Cameras no subscription so maybe security was not her 1st thought
So why was only one missing? a battery one? how could they know it was removed at 1:58? is there a log?

Front door had two locks. was it unlocked? Keys found?

Blood not smeared by walking thru it not sure why how unless she was hit after leaving ? why was she hurt?

And 1st note said no more communication would be sent. why send another note yesterday before Mondays deadline.

In BE video there was one lawn light uprooted in front of her home? still wondering when that happened .

Could it be that the whole situation was a lot longer? That something happened over the dinner time and we are focused on just the late night return to the house? IF it was the family, that opens up the time frame significantly.
Just trying to think outside of the box. I have no real theory, this case has thrown me for a loop for sure.

Of course, just my (current) opinion.
Why would Nancy want her SIL to drive her home then if something argumentative in nature occurred while she was at their house. I’d have then asked my daughter to drive me. Not seeing this family involvement at all in this. . Also MOO

Do we know of any cases where someone was returned alive after a ransom was paid? Im struggling to think of any.
Frank Sinatra, Jr., John Paul Getty III come to mind.

It's troubling that for such an urgent, allegedly kidnap-for-ransom scenario, this case is dragging on and seems always to become stagnant.

I guess I expected to wake up this morning to a big break and am baffled to see once again the same going in circles.

I hope there will be a break soon.

i imagine that LE was not happy at all with DJT's comments. Really out of line and self serving in my opinion.
He knows nothing about this case, IMO. He just rambled to hear himself talk.

Did Nancy normally take Ubers to her daughter's house? They don't live too far away. Could have the lights/cameras been damaged between the time she left and time she arrived home? Finally, and while I am sure she is a very independent woman, I wonder why she was actually living alone considering how very frail she was according to her family- not that it makes a difference now but a thought I wonder with this.
A lot of older people live alone, she's been independent for many decades since her husband passed. She has a daughter close by.

I stated that but let me be clear that I am not claiming to be a blood pattern expert by any means. I am just a lay person whose knowledge of the topic comes from being interested in true crime.

Travis Alexander was killed June 4, 2008, his body was discovered five days later on June 9, 2008 and his blood had turned black at that point. Nancy's blood on the porch was still red days after the crime scene was first released.
Understood, but I still appreciate your input!

I think we might be reading too much into the “exact time” her pacemaker disconnected from her phone. My dad has had a pacemaker for 15 years and recently got a new one. His doesn’t continuously sent data to his phone. It transmits it when he is sleeping usually between the hours of 12am-3am. If his phone isn’t near by it will try again a little while later and then eventually send him a notification that it couldn’t connect. Everything I’ve researched online has stated that others are the same way and they aren’t continuously sending data.

I say this because people are making a big deal about the big time lapse between when the camera broke and the pacemaker disconnected, but the pacemaker could have been out of range before 2:28am. I think it’s more likely that the 2:12am detection of a person was them leaving with her.

My Mum is nearly 80, if someone was at her door in the early hours and she didn't recognise them, she would phone me, and definitely not answer the door. If there is no sign of a break in, then my question would be - what lured NG to open the door? Someone pretending to be in trouble? Someone she knew? Or was she simply tired and disorientated and went to the door on autopilot? Did someone threaten her or something close

If Mrs. Guthrie had not turned up missing maybe but under the circumstances the blood appears to be evidence.

I think the family is wise to not touch the property even after release. For example not cleaning the blood, or staying in the home or even the guest house, not gathering there for any reason, until there is some resolution, imo.

If the blood was from a previous incident considering her home appears to be well kept I think it would have been cleaned up pretty quickly by either Mrs Guthrie, if we are to believe she’s fully able of taking care of her tasks, a house keeper, or her daughter who I presume would have been told I had a bloody spell on the front porch I got it stopped but it’s a mess out there.

The front door is used as evidenced by the package.

Also neighbors or friends stopping by she wouldn’t want blood and lots of it out there since she seemed tidy.

I am realizing that many aren’t as involved with their moms like me; we’ve always hung out a lot.

So maybe the routine was the partner drops her off late in the deep dark night and is on his way without a second thought as many seem to think that not unusual.

It may be they are just not that close or involved in her life or don’t want to start any time consuming habits of assistance.

All imo
If this question is not allowed please feel free to delete it. If this band member having a questionable personality is true could he have been waiting for her when she was dropped off? People were talking about this band member the other day and said someone claimed a few members of this band need looked at. Did they mean an actual band or a band as in group of friends who hang out. When I use the word band I always mean a musical act but some people still use it as "band of brothers"

I agree with you in that most articles do not say it was found “in the car”, but just throwing this thought out there 😝
I consider the garage of a home part of the home, so “found at her home” might still fit.
Maybe that’s just me, jmo.
Is there any way to get the distance from her car in the garage to her bedroom where the Apple charger is? Would it still pick up if it is located in the car?

Would adding a photo/video/audio file be easier to trace? Is there a way to truly delete the info attached to it?
Yes, even behind a VPN you are only masking your host IP address. Any digital photos, videos, let could create new digital fingerprints. Unless these people were cyber pros like at a nation state level and knew how to scrub everything. Then we are talking about whole new level of cyberware in America. For example North Korea does a lot of cyberware against America in regards of crypto theft against Americans. Billions. Look it up. But I mean only a high level nation state actor could scrub all the bits and pieces and for example even when north korea does steal crypto from an American we still know they did it. And thats behind vpn and everything else. So, if these folks really do have a digital trail, it will take them down trust me.

My inquiring mind wants to know, if the kidnappers can send a note to the local news station, why can't they also send a generic photo of NG to show proof of life? What would be so hard about that?? I mean, they can print it off and send it along with however they are sending the note or email.

JMO.
It was explained by a tech person yesterday,( MOO, going on memory only), that images are easier for FBI to trace. So maybe that’s why still no image or video of Nancy( if she is in fact still alive).
