I posted a few pages back about a handyman case and the motive was to silence an elderly woman before she exposed him for a minor fraud. I think we should include silencing her to cover up something as a motive versus robbery, What if someone in the family or extended family did something bad or illegal and NG found out. She is religious and a kindly, moral woman. She couldn’t keep the secret much longer; she wanted to go to her priest; it was eating at her, so the person silenced her in an act of desperate self-preservation. She was 84 - so the person justifies that she was old with limited years to live - versus themselves with a lot more life to live at risk if whatever damaging information became known?
Similar scenarios are not uncommon. Things escalate once the homeowner wises up and puts their foot down. Some of the people doing odds jobs are not mentally stable.

This is the gas stations LE was inquiring at on Friday at 1:58PM MST. Any Arizona locals know which brand/company this is based on gas pumps?

In my opinion no she won't. Yeah she might lose a little popularity points but she carefully phrased it as "MAY be a prime suspect AT THIS TIME". That statement may be true based on technicalities. Before any leads LE most likely looked at the family first then ruled them out and followed other clues.

JMO
When she is saying he may be the prime suspect but LE are saying they have no person of interest or suspect, she is vulnerable to a defamation suit. What is more interesting to me is who gave her the information and why her? I assume some person in LE gave her that info. Did they also give it to other news outlets? Did the other news outlets pass on it because their legal departments couldn't get anyone on record?

The thought that NG was murdered to get to the funds in her estate seems poorly thought out, especially if there is this complicated ruse to make this look like a kidnap for ransom. Having recently been through the death of my mother and the settlement of her estate, it takes YEARS to get the full funds disbursement, even with very the very good planning my late mother had done.

Assuming the home is NG's primary asset, selling it can be quite a long process, and usually a good realtor will recommend upgrades to bring the property up to date, improve it's appearance, and make it competitive in a market. People who are buying $1 million + homes do expect contemporary styling, appliances, and features and you can really lose out by just trying for a quick sale. I suppose it also depends on who really ends up with control of the estate, and my guess would be that SG would have more authority in terms of organizing the settlement of the full estate, and the three apparent heirs.

In otherwords, murdering NG to get a lot of money is not a quick and easy way to get money.
I settled my mom’s in less than a year and bless her heart, she left money to so many beneficiaries. If it had been years, I wouldn’t have been able to do that. It is definitely a huge commitment even when everything is spelled out. The first time I went to close it, I was off by a small amount. I offered to pay it. Nope, I had to find it. I’ve put in my will for my kids to hire an estate attorney when I die, to be paid for from my estate.

I would think that NG would have mentioned this to AG, if not SG.

Or…the name of the company that did the work
Right.
We know the name of the company owned by the neighbor.
WHEN did Nancy last have work done on her roof---do we know this?????

I was just speaking with my 98 year old relative about how people think everyone over 80 in incapable of caring for themselves. At 98 she wants no one "tucking her in".
My similar aged Granny agrees and approves of that statement!

I was doing some research on google with this location earlier, it was a Circle K back in 2024 and converted to Chevron sometime in 2025. Separate from the Circle K that's been mentioned.
Slapping my head like a dummy. I was thinking Circle K was a campground. 🫤

Agreed. If it was someone close to her it could’ve been anything. She could’ve become aware of something and they needed to keep her quiet. The possibilities are endless. Especially for true crime followers and anyone who likes murder mysteries. I could literally list off a thousand different scenarios and end up being completely off. It is usually Occums Razor but I feel like there’s been at least one recent COMPLETELY random crime. Oh Brian K being the person who murdered the 4 college students. Occums razor would be someone known to the victim. But every now and then it’s someone totally out of left field.
Good points

Wow. I just posted something with the similar thought. And I’ve seen the episode of Forensic Files you’re referring to

I’ll take door number 3.
I have a hard time imagining a family member hurting her…I know it happens, but my brain can’t process it.
The kidnapping scenario seems to be superficially implemented.
Number 3 for me.
I really hope you’re right!
