AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

If she was taken by people whom she knew closely, she's alive in my opinion. If it was strangers, not likely.
I think the opposite! How would it work if SIL had her kidnapped and then got the $. Nancy comes home and goes back to playing mahjong and having dinner again at his house?

I never noticed there was an Amazon package tucked in there.
Its eerie isn't it. How things can change in the time from ordering something online through Amazon, and by the time it's delivered to Nancy she is gone :(

Wait.. thats a Amazon Package, I wonder if the UPS/FedEx noticed the blood? Had to of.. if not, that can shorten the window of when blood was there... the blood is obviously congealed, but that doesn't take long in Arizona weather.. few hours max.

But they had to see it considering they took the time to tuck it behind the pillar... Wonder if they reached out to the driver.

I've tried to keep up but this thread is moving a million miles an a hour in the blink of an eye. I may have missed something but is it just me who just doesn't believe the ransom/kidnap narrative? It doesn't connect or make any sort of sense to me. Jmo.
If it’s connected, why did they wait to contact the news media and family? This doesn’t make sense. Maybe someone not involved, but saw the opportunity and acted on it.

If the perpetrator has a financial motive (I do think this motivation is complex and that would be simplifying it), there may still be a level of desperation to close this deal. I hope that will be what trips him up and the FBI is able to use their advanced technology to get a trace on where the messages are coming from. For example, the news station seemed to believe they are coming from Tucson, so that’s impressive in and of itself. The family just need to buy a little time. Doubtful this kidnapper(s) is altogether trustworthy on her status, so it may be too soon to lose all hope.

Any thoughts on why the SIL bands Facebook page might’ve been removed?

TC and two other musicians have had a heavy metal band called ‘Early Black’ for quite a few years and they posted photos and updates frequently on Facebook. I read through most of it on Tuesday night and by Wednesday the page was gone.

JMO
it's still there ,no activity since 2016

Yes in the precious video SG is trying to humanize her mother, make her a real person to the kidnappers. In the latest video SG does the opposite, making her mother a "this."

Does SG now know her mother is dead?
The sad thing is N may not be returning at all and if this is truly a kidnapping, would they take the risk? What would be their gain if they are paid? You would think they would have provided proof of life already to get the money paid immediately. If Monday’s deadline isn’t met, then what happens? It’s a risk either way to pay it or not. Whoever is sending the ransom messages is a cruel and evil person.

Agree. And while they still keep the communication going, there is hope the FBI can track them. If it goes silent, it makes it so much more difficult. And the person/s wanting the ransom, they need communication to stay open if there's hope of getting what they want. It was naive of them in the beginning to actually no further contact, that's not how these things work. There are details to sort out, negotiation or confirmation of life, etc

Well.. not if you lived alone like NG did, she would place it somewhere easily accessible I'm sure, thinking for herself or family. It is cliche.. but happens all the time sadly.

or.. due to the amount of time before anyone noticed, the perp came back but he already took out the front door camera, one they knew of, so after leaving with NG and coming back without her to check things, would pull it up if a key was there. Knowing no camera isn't there anymore. Diposed of it to get rid of the "idea" of a key being there, meaning someone close.

It's plausible they came back, with the amount of time.. could've been more evidence but didn't have time and decided to come back, but it would've been a bad idea to go in the same place you went in previously (ie back, etc), knowing of the "Key" in the pot, grabbed it because you orginally locked the door leaving with NG. This would throw investigators off a bit, they are probably thinking its from a scuffle.
How does one disconnect t/ remove doorbell camera ?

Amazon takes a picture of the package to show confirmation of delivery, sends to N’s phone, I wonder if LE can see anything else on that picture?

Ring has a small tool to pop it off, but from what I heard that was a Nest Doorbell, I'm sure its similar.

I promise use a little force it will pop off, the dock is still there but missing a screw, but I've never had a Nest Doorbell. I've only had Rings.

If anything, if the blood was present in the picture, and if there was anything else that mightve been "moved" or added.. I think even UPS and FedEx takes pictures as well.

If anything.. you cannot tell me the Delivery Driver didn't see the blood (if present) and wondered "Hmm thats not right" and either tried calling LE or trying to reach NG.

That makes me think the blood wasn't present.. no human would see that and think othersie. It was too much to not notice.

That blood could have been transferred there by someone. Not difficult at all to do, she wouldn't have needed to be present for her blood to be there
Transferred in a very obvious aspiration/spray pattern?? That would be pretty difficult to do imo

Delivery drivers move fast. Even if they noticed it, it wasn't like pools of blood and the door wasn't wide open or smashed in. They may have just assumed a cut finger or something and got on with their day.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE. THE PERPS HAVE ALL THE POWER. PERIOD..FULL STOP. Negotiating with kidnappers is NOT how these things work. The perps have all the power whether it is a domestic kidnapping in Arizona or a taking of hostages in the Gaza strip. Here's the note and the conditions. ..comply or we kill...maim, whatever. Bitcoin wallet address was in the first note. How have the negotiations and "buying time" worked for the family thus far? They haven't. look to hostage taking in recent wars and see how that has worked. Even governments frequently cannot get their citizens back.

Oh I know, but maybe it could be a frequent driver.. doesn't hurt to try.

Driver might've took a picture of something "moved" or maybe nothing at all. I doubt the blood wasn't there previously, but maybe something was missed. Too much time before LE got there for the perp or whoever to go back and check things prior.

That’s an older band page. There was a more recent ’Early Black’ band page (profile picture below) that was full of current posts and photos. That page has been removed.

I get what you are saying, but by the very notion that a transaction needs to occur, and the other notion that it is not an automatic transaction, there is power on both sides. I'm not saying that there isn't a strong and often emotional motivation to appease a kidnapper's requests, but if it was complete power on their side, it would have been paid the minute the ransom note was received. Each party wants something, and negotiation is the process whereby each party tries to get their needs met. This is very obvious in the last video of the family.

The perception that they have full power is exactly what they WANT their targets to feel. But in reality, they don't have all the power.
