it looks like this person walks quite directly towards the nest camera. Given it was dark they located it very quickly. I think that suggests they knew where to find it - either they’ve seen it before or been told where it was positioned. You don’t see the person scrambling to locate it. They seem to know it’s rough position even with their head pointed down when approaching the door.

Disabling it is another matter however…

Seems like an experienced person would have had the duct tape strips ready to stick over the camera

Ain't nobody unrolling and ripping duct tape off with those meat gloves on. 😃

JMO.

Probably breathing easy when he learned those cameras weren’t storing recordings in the cloud.

Now he’s gotta be panicking.

Which is not good for Nancy's sake but based on Savannah's solo plea for people to be vigilant LE might be hoping the perp will just abandon her somewhere due to the overwhelming publicity this has gotten.

Wouldn’t have mattered much. The camera started recording before the suspect got on the porch.

Does anyone know who dropped her off, and why so late? I wonder if it was a special celebration. Usually elderly people don’t stay up that late.
Son In Law. BTW does he have groomed eyebrows? I can't find a closeup.

I know just enough about systems and servers to be annoying (but not enough to be in the know). These setups are huge, with layers like live databases, incremental backups, snapshot archives, and leftover logs. Whoever pulled these images probably had to dig through different storage tiers, reconcile metadata, and work through permission layers (basically combing through copies most people would never see). That takes serious effort and I think that’s pretty impressive.

I can’t help but wonder if the person in the video realizes these files were actually recoverable (are they realizing now that there are pics and video of them when everyone thought the camera saved nothing).
Love that quote "just enough to be annoying" ...

I suspect it may have been an arduous and possibly very manual task to look through, what you are describing, as potentially buried data. It could have involved multiple departments at google, possibly even 3rd party vendors who provide storage. There may have even been lawyers involved to make sure no liability exists. I'm sure there were meetings over potential fallout if the public knows that your cameras are storing images and video even if you don't have a subscription.

I was just talking to someone and they had a really good thought. The suspect had a small flashlight in his mouth that he would have had to have pulled out using his gloved hands. If he touched something in that house he may have transferred DNA to that item.
That and this person grabbed an entire fistful of plants with their hands when they tried to use them to cover up the Nest cam - even wearing gloves there is likely DNA on those gloves from the person. Or even potential saliva on the plants.

I have to wonder how SG is feeling right now? Bad enough her mother is out there somewhere but it seems like they are closing in on her sister's home and she must know that AG and TC are being talked about. Nightmare does not begin to describe this situation.

It's night vision, not b&w. The IR light causes some features to be exaggerated and some to be understated. This gives people and things an uncanny appearance.
It's weird. Perfectly plucked eyebrows on a man?

LE went to AG's house Sat night and apparently were taking photos inside (maybe in the garage?) at some point. They were there for about 3 hours. LE went back to NG's house and looked in a septic tank behind her house and didn't seem to find anything. Ranson deadline passed a little while ago. No news on any bitcoin/money being exchanged.
thank you so much I appreciate it

Whew. Pages & pages about eyebrows. I think I finally made it out the other side.
FWIW It screams male to me based on stature and the way he moves.

What's in the backpack? Rope? restraints? Gags? zipties?? Laser gun? Knives? This was a kidnaping from the get-go. IMO Just strengthens my belief this was a sickio admirer of SG who wanted attention or someone with a huge grudge against the family. JMO Also, IMO ransom was real.

i don't think this means anything. it's exactly where you would expect a door camera to be. don't really need prior knowledge to figure that out.

it's also possible it has an indicator light that turns on when it detects movement? i don't know much about nest cameras, and don't know if google will be much help if i don't know the model NG had.

though of course I’m well aware that reality is often not the same as what we want, but I really hope that AG and the SIL are not involved. My heart breaks for the family enough as is. I can’t imagine the added trauma that could result if this was done by someone you love and trust.

I think we will see an arrest by the end of the week.
